      OMG, I agree completely with your rant. It's also one of my pet peeves, I really wish we could year down all those garbage buildings created during the 60s and replace them with something more respectful of the heritage architecture.

    This is a great apartment. Love the terrace and the exposed brick in the lounge. Nice renovation. This will make a wonderful home for someone. As for the rant, I couldn't agree with you more. I live in a small town in Texas with a beautiful historic downtown. Unfortunately, there are a few buildings that were built in the 60's that steal from the charm. Fortunately, there is historic committee with our city council that oversees downtown renovations now and strict codes/regulations to preserve the historic buildings now.

    One of the reasons that I love Italian places (especially old ones) is the quirkiness of them! Very little “cookie-cutter”construction!! Also agreed completely with your very mild and accurate ‘rant’, Rino! There are always some people who don’t like “old stuff”, but thankfully lots of people still appreciate the beauty of classic design! Especially in Italy that is so very, very rich in it!!!

      Hi! Thanks for commenting, there's is a big park nearby, look for "villa comunale Chieti". If I'm being honest, the playground is not Tha largest, in fact with my kids I often go to Chieti Scalo but everything is close. School wise, you won't get the quality of Milan but they are good :). I really like this apartment. I would see if the wall between the kitchen and living room could come down, renovate the bathrooms and try to figure out what to do with that "quirky" room. It is a bit odd, especially with that riser in the middle of the room. Would probably try to see if that could be removed. How low are the ceilings in that room? Could you stand up over by the bench area? Of course, the best part is the terrace... and the location is amazing. Is the price mainly because of the location? Would probably be more than I'd want to pay but really really nice.

    I could barely understand your rant. Something about 60s architecture. You need a wind guard for your microphone.
    Anyway, the apartment is big and not bad looking. You of course have to install a kitchen and then buy lots of furniture.
    At least there is an elevator!
    What town is this? A lot of these old buildings do not have them.
    A presto ciao Rino. 😊

      Hi! I have a muzzler but that day the wind was crazy, you could hear it on the terrace as well! The city is called Chieti :)

  • @steveg2288
    @steveg2288 11 месяцев назад +1

    Hi Rino - this is a great place for someone who wants to be in the very centre of the city. Some of the rooms and spaces are a bit unusual - I wasn't sure what the room where you sat on a tiled step was supposed to be - but you can forgive a lot for the terrace which is a very rare bonus in a city centre (I assume). I like your suggestion that this would make a good industrial style "loft apartment" - maybe with some exposed services such as the plumbing etc and stainless steel kitchen surfaces and appliances etc.
    I agree with your rant about much of the post war architecture that was inflicted on our cities - heaven knows we have lots of it here too. The standard of design, materials and workmanship just isn't of the same standard. Things used to be built to last several life times, centuries even, but now the buildings will be lucky to last 30-50 years. At least we can enjoy the beauty of the older buildings while we still can.
    Best regards

    Nice. I understand you at 2:00. In my home town it is worse: A mayor (and the municipality) thought, a few decades back, to remove 98% of the city walls! Now, they are all gone, except for about 100m, and no way to bring these back...

    I would love this place but one thing I absolutely require is either beach front or great sea view. I prefer an independant house. size is not that important but a terrace to enjoy the sea view and entertain is everything to me as is being close to amenities, such as medical, groceries and shopping, good cafes and restaurants.
