Some of the best defensive college highlights you'll ever see, can be found here in Arrington's junior season at Penn State. Physically, he was one of the most gifted linebackers in the history of college football. And he was certainly decorated enough in 1999 as well, then went on to live up to all of the hype as he brought home 1st team all-Amercian honors and the Butkus award. Being drafted at number 2 overall in the 2000 NFL draft is nothing to sneeze at either.
Just watching Arrington play even 20-some year later, there are many plays he makes that just have the 'wow' factor, amidst other things he did that you just don't see players today make on the football field. And this is my personal opinion, but at a school that has had so many great linebackers throughout its history, Lavar Arrington has been the best of them all.

I disagree. He's not even the best at PSU. That would be Ham and Conlin.

He was the most dominant college LB ever. It's just a shame his NFL career didn't pan out. He and Courtney Brown both.

It was cut short due to injuries. 3 pro bowls while only playing 4 full seasons.

It’s hard to hit someone when most of the time they duck or maneuver to avoid contact

He couldn't catch he couldn't tackle all he did was grab people by the shirt and throw them down or grab somebody's leg and hang on. He's like a big professional wrestler. His only good tackles was when someone was running straight at him he could get both arms wrapped around them and then let his body go limp and drag them down. In today's game a lot of those would be targeting. And unsportsmanlike penalties

Haha I started reading “He couldn’t catch” at the same time he was catching an interception
