This is No Man's Sky in 2024! I am starting a new game and giving tips to beginning players for ways to play No Man's Sky and how to get the most out of your time with it. There are a lot of mechanics in No Man's Sky that are not explained well for anyone jumping in for the first time. Hopefully you find some new things, and some help in this series. So, let's jump in!

Certainly an odd video to make since the space station overhaul will happen sometime this year.
It's like making a tour of space stations in 2018 a few months before NEXT drops lol.

Some extra tips regarding space stations: After exit ship go straight to the inner room (round door) at the right side with some aliens to hire and one with a quiz, so can reload and try again if wrong answer. Also talk again, since then show the common menu of choices. Language help can be repeated if revisit the station at a later time. Suggest also do the training, since can give modules and other stuff, also extra words. Extra stuff to loot around too, some of the merchants have free stuff laying around. Have to land on a space station for the ability to see it in the Teleport list. Be aware of that the list have a max amount of stations, so the oldest used will be replaced by newer. Why have a base in certain important (to you) systems, or portal address to a planet (can take a photo).
Crashed freighter tips: Can loot without digging by standing on top of a (buried) crate in 1st person (swap by Quick menu). When see the loot option, mark next and then loot, since then save time in what direction to move, 6 crates. The "Trash" loot can be refined into nanites, might need several rounds. Scrap Metal type info Fe(rrite).

For any new viewers, a recent update has changed the layout of the space stations and added new things you can do there. Jason made a new video, "New Space Stations Part 11", that covers them.
I always get 3 S scanner upgrades first. Then scanning gives you insane money. I know he never tell you this, but every new scan is units and nanites. You upload your findings for nanites (3 each). You turn in your findings for nanites later for even more. Nanites buys important things. Units become pretty much worthless over time, but you need them starting out. So, 3 S class gives you a great and very easy way to get units. It only takes 2 minutes to scan everything around you when you land on a planet. Not doing it is saying I don't like free stuff that I need.
Yeah I'm with the other commenter. This has a weirdly unfortunate title given everything going on. Hope those stations come.

You kept the slime on level down from living slime. If you keep one keep them all. You can refine them into the same thing nanites.

What kind of walls did you use to build your base? Mine were solid and could not see through them. Could be lower graphic settings being the problem
Some fuel for your ship (like Tritium) can only be got from asteroids, there are asteroids outside of most planets. Jason maybe should have shown that! :)

Look at you taking the stairs at the space station. OSHA compliance is pleased with you.
There's no fall damage on a space station or freighter, so OSHA would have nothing to complain about :)
*NEW CHALLENGE: Interceptor / Pirate Dreadnaught Mission Challenge*
Game set up: Setting sliders all set to max.
contents deleted upon death.
blue prints known.
tutorial disabled. (set like Stranded mission)
3 lives to complete challenge like old style video game.
Game ends when you defeat and take control of a Pirate
Dreadnaught Freighter with an Interceptor Ship.
Story: Upon game initialization you get in your space ship
that is already fueled and ready to go. Polo says: Thank the
heavens that I am able to reach you! Pirates are bringing down
the Galaxy! You must go to dissonance system or you too will
be extinguished. You must get interceptor ship from dissonance
system to defeat the pirate dreadnaught freighter take control of it
and save the Galaxy!
Polo is counting on you to restore the Euclid galaxy to ORDER!
Fly to dissonance system. First dissonance planet you find you
must land your ship on it immediately. (exception: abandoned
dissonance systems like weird style planets with only a single
fauna allow you to fly to a new dissonance system.)
If you don't realize this until after you land your space ship,
You must delete all materials collected from this planet and then
you're allowed to use your starter space ship to find a new
dissonance system. However running out of warp fuel still applies.
(This is the only exception to using a regular space ship more than once)
Regular space ships can be repaired or bought anytime / however
can only be launched from landed position a single time. Once landed
you must abandon it. Interceptor ships only can be flown / landed as
many times as necessary to complete the challenge. Interceptor ships
are immuned from being tracked by pirates. If attacked by pirates for
any reason, no matter which type of space ship you're in you must
defeat the pirates, no buying them off or fleeing them.
(it's allowed to flee sentinel forces in air or on ground)
On dissonance planet you can do anything you want, build out space suit
using pods on planet, access any building, build exocraft any kind
including minotaur.
But you can't call these in you must build base of the exocraft to bring it
in. You can use user created portals on dissonance planet to jump from location
across single disonance planet (can not use portal to warp to any space stations OR
any location outside the disonnace planet you are on), build as many bases as you
want. But you can only use portals that are on a single planet, not for
travel to pirate system space station(s) etc.
*Rules may change*
BONUS: Complete the challenge in less than 3 deaths, take control of a Pirate
Dreadnaught Freighter while also having a stack of 9 Salvage Data in your possession
in your space suit inventory or your interceptor ship inventory.
There is no way, that I read all that…
It's not trash it's free nanites. You wouldn't throw way nanites would you? You just did. I've kept track through one playthrough I got 10,231 nanites for that trash.
It would be cool if the npc actually talked to you, instead of you have to read everything.
