The Schubert Ensemble have been plying their trade for 35 years, the last 23 with an unchanged lineup, but they have decided that the current season (2018) will be their last - love, love love this recording!
There was a venue called "Bargemusic" organized by Olga Bloom located almost under the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn where wonderful chamber music was performed by groups such as this. My husband and I attended virtually every time we were in NYC. Sadly, the view across the East River encompassed the Twin Towers. We only went back one time after the terrorism attack--another casualty of that awful day.
(guest) This is superb, of course...but have you seen the delightful performance from 1969, with Baremboim, du Pre, Perlman, Zuckernan and Mehta? Also great ! 🇬🇧🎹😊❤️🎻🎹😊⭐🇬🇧
Yes and even though locked in black and white, an eternal treasure Each of them became an icon, but on that day they were the music I recall weeping when PBS reran it upon Jaqueline du Pre’s death such a living gift
Very beautiful yes! You should listen to Amadeus quartet with Gilels. In my opinion their performance is the best. Here the first mov. I never heard elsewhere the first bars played with the right dynamics! m.ruclips.net/video/AtlyQ5rthwY/видео.html
Is it okay to listen to this every day … 😊 💕
So beautiful... I feel schubert is the gift from the god for human😊

Classical music is the only music worth listening to.
The rest, someone said, is noise: the title their splendid book. Almost as good as this!
that is so true
Reminds me of “In science, there is only physics. All the rest is stamp collecting." Ernest Rutherford
This superb composer lost at age 33.

No matter what he wrote, in my imagination it comes out the "Erlkönig" 👹💀 !
Great job, but what happened to the viola part in IV mvt, 1st variation ? Are there other changes from the score ?
Il quintetto si chiama LA TROTA
Was there an encore?
October?
Thanks - changed to March...
Fantastic playing as always though!!!!
