That is one nice thing about these new civic's, the turbos are easy to swap. My GTI has the turbo in the back which is a bit of a pain to disconnect and reconnect
This is awesome. At what point is it a good idea to invest in some ARP head studs? From what I've read the l15 in the 10 gen had issues with high boost head lifting.
The very moment you start to romp on it. You can install them without taking head off. One of one one. I did it mines still holding up fine and I have a big turbo e30
@@chorizojuice my advice take your time , remain organized. Stuff looks scarier than it actually is. Also a RUclips channel jeep and bass made a good tutorial on how to do it👍 it won’t take. Overall if I had to give difficulty out of ten I would give it a 6/10. Everything is right in front of you no lifting required so that makes it nice.

Very nice numbers for the SI. I work at a Honda dealer and will get the 1st Type R that we get, but we are a smaller dealer and still have not been allocated one yet. I check 1st thing every morning and its driving me crazy.

Since the Si and integra share the same motor. Will this turbo fit the 23 integra too? I might do it to my integra if the type S doesn't deliver. The new type R is awesome too debating on trading the integra in maybe 😆
@@mistamaog the type-s will probably run 48-50k MSRP. The problem is the dealer markup. Everywhere I've heard so far is seeing a 15k markup on the type r.
You’re better off getting a Type R if you’re chasing power numbers. Better in the long run and it can handle over 300whp for its life. 300whp isn’t even a lot either. Upgraded turbo, FBO, e85 only to make 300’s just to have a high chance of the motor to blow ain’t worth the risk if you ask me.

@@vicv2106 You're not missing anything, it's probably just the order in which you saw the videos. it blew when we reinstalled the stock turbo and detuned it COMPARED to the tune it had with an aftermarket turbo. With the stock turbo it still had a tune which made more than stock (from the factory).
Hate to say it but it’s right I will trade mine in soon due to the fact that Honda sucks when it comes to performance. A damn suv can smoke an si with 5 kids in it 😂 kinda defeats the sport car look and feel

Its crazy taking a freeway on ramp going 80 pushing 90 mph and this front wheel drive car feels like an all wheel drive rally car I remember my older civics if I hit a corner going anywhere over 40 and im sliding into the curb. The full vehicle experience and aspect of this track car is absolutely amazing. I’ll take a honda si or type R over any other car on a track.
The following video to this is a blown engine that was detuned and stock turbo. What cause the blow? And does this drop in turbo with no tune cause the same downfall?

Damn, nice gain on hp and Torque at 325/338! I heard that FL5 announced at $43,990 plus MSRP costs and it would be about $50k to $60k, crazy. Si is nice performance car and pretty close to Type R as affordable. 😁👍
real question is, how long will this build last with all that extra power and torque. remember that. you have to buy a new turbo and get it tuned and it will void warranty
@@cloud-ny5ux the warranty is not very long to begin with 30,000 miles or three years had my si since December 21 I got 23,000 miles on it and those numbers wont break the motor stock clutch yes but the motor will still be reliable know plenty of 10 the gen si with that much power and they are still running
Technically we never got to the final numbers. We had to throw another car on the dyno but this is on E85 and it’s pretty much there. There’s probably room for a few more ponies.
L15 is a Komplete Garbage engine. Every single part of it is cheapened and absolutely Substandard. Honda even removed counter balances from the crankshaft THE worst engine Honda has ever made. Even stock they have small chance of living for 100 K miles

type r is a lot more money than a si. this is also on the stock fuel system. wait till they add multi-port to this
