You're going to learn so much on this build...Good job for hanging in there.
Thanks! Yeah, i'm learning something new every time I turnaround LOL
Exceptional job Matt ...seeing that your patience didn’t wear thin when your “Hangry” dropped in!!!
👍The more you take it apart the more you learn. It's really good to see you doing the work and learning. I started working in a one man hot rod shop when I was 12 . That's back in the day when a kid good do so!! I would like to see you build the bottom end of the Tar Heel fox!!
Thanks John, yeah learning a TON, i've still got so much to learn though, LOL. Stay tuned for the tarheelfox build.
Will do!!
Congrats there's no better way to learn. Great support and patience. Tip for brakes, do them one at a time so you have a reference on how they go back together, ask me how I know.
Sounds like you know from experience yourself there 😉
Glad your back into working on your car!
Should be a lot more of that coming in a couple of weeks.
We have all been there and that’s how you learn 😊 Stay positive and keep hammering on it you’ll get there 👍
Thanks man, I appreciate the positivity.
You should be able to take the diff out blindfolded now. Good job 👏
You would think so, LOL, but I don't want to try it anytime soon 😁
Repetition is the only way to learn.
You'll appreciate this notch a lot more than you do the vert.
Good to see you're moving on to the next project 👍
Thanks man. It took me forever, LOL
@@GearHead704 yeah....that happens. You have plans to get X done, then move to Y, but, U, V and W happens. 😂
You'll be a Foxbody, rear-end pro now 💪
Might put a laser down the axle tubes too. Axle tube may be a little off. Make sure they’re straight and weld them whilst the rear ended is out of the car.
Ended up moving on as things seemed to be fitting very well after the spider gears change and everything measured out good, but they may have been a next step if things hadn't worked out.
Should of soaked the clutch packs in friction modifier before installing them.
I did in a previous video which you can find here: ruclips.net/video/GhzrEbiDJiM/видео.html It's about 3 minutes into the video.
Enjoy your how to videos thinking about changing my 2:73 gears to 3:55 seems doable after watching you tackle your's.
Thanks Robert! 3:55 will be a lot more fun over that 2:73 for sure!
Gonna have to do this build on mine eventually
I figured you already had some good gears in that super clean Fox!
@@GearHead704 Hahaha, not yet
Nice work Matt. I can see your getting alot more comfortable working on things keep it up. Great video.
Thanks Mike! Getting better as I go along for sure.
Almost there!! Well for the rear end anyway😁.
Hah hah, yeah only 90% of the car left, LOL
I bet you can do this in your sleep. Other than fluid change, I have NEVER had to tear into a rear. GREAT learning experience for you.
Hah hah, not in my sleep yet, but much much more comfortable than I wise. Yes, i'm learning a TON for sure.
Foxbody problems. Congrats on your determination and hard work.
LOL, yup that's for sure, #FoxBodyLife
Lesson here.... If at 1st you don't succeed try and try and try and try and try and try again!
LMAO, yeah that's pretty much this job in a nut shell! 😁
MATT, Its all good, now i know how to do my rear end if i have too, great vid!
Thanks Mike! I hope it can help some people somday.
It's great Bro your doing the work. Because you will appreciate the car more when you do the Work. Awesome video Bro. Stang Life 🐎
Agreed Ant! I'm going to checkout that video of yours at Moe's. It's in my watch list!
Looks like you can rebuild that rear ended in your sleep now can’t wait to see it back on the road again!
It's been off the road way too long for sure! Thanks Nick.
First !!!!! You’re killing it Matt!
That's you sir, but thanks man!
I'm here champ
Appreciate that Jay C!
Finally!😆
Nice job, Matt!
I know, it took long enough brother 🤣
I would put the gear oil in now and let it sit for a week or two to make sure you don’t have a leak. It would be easier to fix at the shop.
Didn't think about that, Unfortunately, I didn't cover that before I left, so we'll see.
I was almost starting to feel bad for you after finding the shim in the wrong place and having to take it apart AGAIN, haha. Live and learn, way to hang in there.
LOL, thanks Tom! It's all a big learning process for me that's for sure.
put some loctite on the pinion shaft bolt
🤣 cleaning mechanic I caught that. Well when it's all together you will finally have the age old answer of the question, which is better built or bought
I may get the chance for both now that tarheelfox has a bad motor 🤣
Great video bro🤘
Thanks mane!
Looks like the seal is missing on the side that's giving you trouble....
Could've been, this is a few years old now but I think I solved it.
AWESOME Sauce 🇺🇸🔴📽🐎💯🚘🔧👍🇺🇸
You know it! 💯👊💪
Hey Matt! Hope you picked out a spot to camp out at Fox Resto while you were there! 😂😂😂 great vid and hope you are getting something outta doing it by yourself.... With help of course!😉... Keep at it bud!😁👍👊
Couldn't do it without the help for sure! Thanks bud. If they want us to be there full time I'll let you know, LOL
@@GearHead704 haha! For suore!👍😉👊

@@GearHead704 lol
Nice video! Practices makes perfect! ;-)
LOL, i'm getting plenty of that. Thanks Frank!
What the heck is all the yellow paint inside that diff? holy crap that dont belong. Sand blast that thing.
feellnfroggy I was wondering the same thing
Was painted before me, yeah I don't get why. I cleaned it up good though, so should be fine now though.
I just answered above and was wondering the same thing when I opened it.
