    Dude you saved my ass! I have 8.8 w/C-Clip eliminators and run a 15" wheel on my Fox. The fancy disc brake conversion brackets, put my axles out a 1/4" on each side producing less spline contact at the spool. Not to mention Cobra rotors and calipers wont allow 15" wheels. I couldn't believe this would work till I did it. Bravo!

    I have a 83 TTOP foxbody (over 25 years) that had an engine fir last Fall and I was 90% complete with it. I always paid to get stuff done to the car but now I am learning cause I want to do it myself and your videos have taught me so much. Since my engine fire I have been spending close to 3 hours looking at videos but yours truly hit home and i can relate. My twin brother has a 70 Fastback and he is COMPLETELY RESTORING IT but he has a mechanics background. I DON'T. I am learning and I thank you.Keep up the good work with these videos.

Except you get those shorter axles to keep stock length? Thing is though the doner car has 183k miles on it. Does that mean the rear end shouldn't be used? • @kevinroyle6034
    @kevinroyle6034 3 года назад +1

    Man, I got my Ranger axle, but damn, the Aerostar is a pain. Twice I've striped the head on the 5/16" bolt for the pin. The van's at the yards here don't have keys, so unless there's another way to get them into neutral, I'll have to remove the driveshaft to rotate the axle and get a better position to wrench on the retainer bolt. Any suggestions?

    • @JunkyardDoggs
      @JunkyardDoggs  3 года назад

      Yes. To get them into Neutral, remove the selector connection from the transmission. The neutral position is usually two clicks from park. That way you can go from park to neutral without a key and rotate the driveshaft.

    Tony, I have a mustang 5 lug rear end in my foxbody but don’t know what gear sn95 it’s out of ? My tires are sticking out a little bit . Can I still buy 8.8 5 lug fox length axles and install them to get the correct fox length rear end ?

    • @JunkyardDoggs
      @JunkyardDoggs  4 года назад

      Yes but you have to modify the caliper bracket like i did in the video and your gold

  • @bryanbrunk1186

    Did you use the sn95 housing and if so are they the same dimensions as the fox housing? You should have added a parts list. Well done.

      Yes the 86-93 and 94-98 axles housings are the same length, 99+ got longer housings.

      You can do exactly the same thing, just change the rotors to 4 lug like u said.

      @JunkyardDoggs  4 года назад

      The 5 lug on the 2001 is too wide for a fox but you can use the rear brakes and convert your rear end to disc. Also the front spindles and hubs can be used as well but you have to change your lower ball joints
