The evaporator drain line on your AC is plugged. The moisture is spilling out of the AC system, it should properly drain out, but the plugged line lets it overflow in your cab.
Soap idea works great 👍🏼 on a side note. On the Explore (or any other SUV with rear heat and A/C) I have had the grommets around the a/c lines that run up through the floor leak and insulation under the carpet gets wet and causes condensation to form in the spare tire well.
A/C drain will leak back into the cab on this trucks and soak the carpet. Or behind the BCM where the firewall and the left front fender meet sometimes leaks.
There's a tsb on f150z this gen sduty may apply too, passenger floor soaked , its the elbow that connects to the drain tube from the hvac box to the floor
A/c drain has a metal piece covering the discharge tube on the passenger side that leaks back into the cab. RUclips the fix, there are quite a few fixes for that problem and that’s how I fixed mine and it works.
Check the heater coil or any other lines going into the car. Or check if any rubber gromit on the bottom of the truck isn't seated. The things you showed would not get the carpet to soak!
👍👏👏 😎. Idea. Positive pressure in the cab. Will show you the air leaks sitting still cool start To finding the leaks. Problem I have is going down the road In the rain Then the dam leaks show up. The wind moves the water in weird ways. Good luck with your search. Have a good day
If you close off the exit vents on your vehicle and run the HVAC. Fan full power. Not on recycle mode. The Air has nowhere to escape. Water leaks will be exposed with soapy water
There’s literally a recall that even ford dealers choose to forget about and the fix is a 90 degree elbow on passenger side. The ac drains itself into the cab. Even when using the heater the condensation burns off into the cab. Everyone always tries to blame the sunroof and never realizes it’s a design fault from the factory lol
What my 18 was just doing had to put an elbow on it to drain straight down thank Ford engineers for this. The 18 to 20 models have this happening and the elbow is the fix. I just did it today.
You ever come up with a resolution for this? Ive got no sunroof, no cab lights, yet water has begun to drip out of my A pillar grab handle. Im thinking the rood drip rails…. But windshield was been replaced 6 months ago
If I was capable of lowering my backseat. I would check this because my truck has a leak somewhere any time I wash it or it rains smells like mildew. I have tried moving that latch with my finger, but it seems to be insanely hard for me to pull up so I give up for now.
@@DS-TRUCKS finally got it thanks , turns out my window is leaking from the driver side corner on the top and bottom of the sliding window. Always something with these trucks 🤦♂️
Check the doors sometimes water will go right down the window into the door and maybe funneling right into the cab instead of dripping down and out of the door frame

The soap idea is gold! I’ll definitely try that if I have issues down the line
They leak at the weather strip on the roof, happened to two of my F150s. Good luck.
Can confirm I worked at collision/body shop for past 10 years
That's where mines seems to be leaking from it's a pain in the ass to chase it down find it then to fix it is even harder
Where in particular on the roof, the seamseal? I'm having same issue on my 19,leaking at a pillar passenger side
@@jasonbrushett2005you figure it?
@@SexyTexas yes seam seal
What do you think about this method of leak detection?
@The Streelight Express thank you.
It’s good same way I used to check for leaks in the air plumbing underneath trailers
Try a spray bottle next time and mist it
Looks good but the dish soap takes off my beautiful wax job
Dude this is a slick test...smart!

Good points
Happened to me but in a 2003 Ford Explorer. All I did was put caulk on the top windshield lol. It worked great
Money on the windshield especially if it's been replaced
Nope I wouldn’t get especially not at the bottom of the windshield. Water don’t run up, it would leak down the windshield onto the cowl
Not true off the production line they leak. Body seam on the driver/passenger corners
@@blessedlife93windshield corners?
Blocked drains are usually the culprits, every spring with all the pollen, these drains get clogged quickly.

Not the ac
Where is the carpet wet more at?
Check drain tubes in your roof to see if the factory hooked them to the roof rails rear corners inside cab .
Bro just gave him a free car wash 😂
My mustang leaked from the top passenger side of the windshield. Had it removed and resealed and it worked great.
How do you pressure the cab??
The seam at the bottom corners of the windshield is a common leak. Kinda by the hinges.
Check the heater coil or any other lines going into the car. Or check if any rubber gromit on the bottom of the truck isn't seated. The things you showed would not get the carpet to soak!
Will do
imma say check heater core if passenger floor is wet. water leaks out from the heater core all over the floor shitty to fix hole dash gotta come out
Good point. Will check
If it's under your dashboard it's your heater core
Checking that now
My 2017 cab lights were leaking and water was actually coming in through the rear cab vents.
Hey, how did your pressurize the cab like that?
Turn on your HVAC with the rear exhaust vents closed
Yeah that windshield was stuffed in. That’s what’s causing the leak if it’s the front floor boards.
My 06 f150 cab carpets get wet. It’s got to be leaking at the cowl/ windshield. Tryi g to figure out !
👍👏👏 😎. Idea.

I'm gonna need it.. no one's been able to find it out. No dealer. It's on me now.
@@DS-TRUCKS what does A-Rod think?
What do you mean by pressurizing the cab?
Causing positive air pressure to form inside of that cab so that leaks can be detected
aka, turning the air on with windows up, sealing the rear vents?
Around the windshield I had most leaks turned out the frame was rotted rusted away in places.
How do you pressurize the cab?
If you close off the exit vents on your vehicle and run the HVAC. Fan full power. Not on recycle mode. The Air has nowhere to escape. Water leaks will be exposed with soapy water
Could it be possibly be the heater core, they are normally up underneath & behind the dash ???
That's a problem I've had before.
No. Because its water not coolant...

Would this cause my driver side floor to get soaked?
Cab lights!
Yep, I think mine leaking right there. Will put a seal around.
Take the interior out carpet and seats have someone with a watet hose outside and on the inside just follow the leak
Ohhh. That would be way easier!
