- If you have water on your driver or passenger side floor and can't find where it's coming from then this video may be for you! I've had a leak in my 2018 Ford F150 for about a month now that was hard to find. I checked all of the common areas like the sun roof drains, fender liner plugs, ac drain, etc... and they were all fine. What ended being the source of the leak was something many people are having issues with.

Let me know in the comments if you have this same issue. Also check out my other F150 videos!
Thank you so much! Just discovered this today on my 2018 F-150 not a fun time
Yeah it sucks. Mines been dry since this video.
Working with Ford now with what I hope is the same issue! Just emailed the local dealership this video to review.
Good luck!
I have a 2022 Ford F-150 which seems to have the same issue. I will investigate and update. Thanks.
Welcome. Let me know what you find. I had someone else say they had a newer f150 with a leak. Ford needs to get their act together
Had this issue on the passenger side last year, Ford garage replaced that exact vent. 4 days ago it occurred on the drivers side, my truck is a 2021. Obviously this is a serious recall issue in my opinion that continues to be a problem. I’m extremely disappointed. Fortunately mine is still under warranty until November of 2024.
This certainly a recurring problem so WAKE UP
FORD….. FIX THIS ISSUE
They won’t unless it poses an injury risk unfortunately. Sucks
Guy, I had the exact same issue with a 2019 F 150. Unfortunately, I didn't see your video until today. I took the vehicle to the dealership Tamiami Ford Naples FL. They told me the sunroof was leaking and charged me $2,200 to "fix" it.
Well, they didn't fix it because it leaked again. I'm out the $ and am extremely disappointed with Tamiami Ford, Naples Fl.
Thanks to you and your video I just found and fixed my leak.
Sorry about the dealership man. They do that all the time because Ford refuses to accept that even the newer 2020 trucks leak in this same spot, same vents still being used. Unfortunately nothing gets fixed unless it’s a class action lawsuit or someone gets hurt from a manufacturer defect. Even with a full warranty I have on my truck still they wanted $ to diagnose the issue. I said no and spent the day trying to figure it out and found the vent leaking.
Thank You so much !!! I looked for days. This was the problem 👍🏼
Same man. So frustrating lol
Much appreciated, will dive in later this week. During rainstorms and me driving my 2016 Platinum FX4 4dr 5.0L, I get WET 🌦️☔😖🤦 from water dripping, sometimes pouring, from the overhead control panel for the panoramic sunroof! 👀😱 Will be tearing into that as well...
Check those drain tubes. You should see it come out under the front fender wells. Same for the vents in front of the windshield on the outside
@@theguyofalltrades Was going for those drains from the sunroof, but wasn't aware of those outer windshield tubes!? That's interesting...
Pour water in the vents outside and you’ll see where it drains. I’ve also seen some years not connect the sun roof tubes at all. They’re in there but were never connected. You’ll see staining on the headliner if that’s the case
Took mine to ford after I found out the clip on mine wasn’t fixable and wanted to place it and they also discovered water coming in through the rear and front glass ! Now I have to replace both of them at a glass shop
I didn’t have a leak at the rear glass but one of my defroster connections came off. Truck is under full warranty still but wanted 1k to replace just the rear glass to fix that issue. I’ll be fixing that myself also. Full video on that soon. Good luck with the windshield and rear glass. I’d suggest using some water and trying to find out if they are actually leaking before dropping the money on those replacements.
I just recently discovered, when I opened the rear driver-side door on my 2015 F150 3.5L SuperCrew, that water POURED OUT onto my garage floor, about the area of the truck (front to back) where you'd be sitting in the rear seat. Plugs? Seams? Gaskets? Is it this vent thing in the video? ??????????
If it’s coming out when you open the door it’s probably in the door. Clean the weep holes in the bottom of the door
Thanks …I noticed my carpet wet after every car wash on passenger side … 2018 f150… will check it out today
Mine is the same year. Betcha that vent is leaking
@@theguyofalltradesjust checked and of course vent was broken in the rear … but also ac was leaking into passenger side as well
That’ll do it too. You can install a pcv valve elbow on the drain in the engine compartment. There’s a few good videos out there about it
@@theguyofalltradesI actually just installed a 3/8 hose with hose clamp and it worked. Had to cut the plastic tabs and make it smooth on the outside… dealer wanted to charge 220$… took me about an hour. You the man
2015 F150 crew cab , im having the same issue , called the dealership already , just hoping is a easy fix , carpet is soaked , plugging a small dehumidifier overnite to get rid off the smell and some of the moist
Yup most likely is. Could also be rear window seal from what I’ve researched
Gonna try that tomorrow ,will let ya know!
Good luck 👍🏻
in a pinch, drill small weep hole in quarter panel on both sides, also quick fix, small beach noodle, shove btwn cab/bed, my vents r verticle on 98 f150, WTF?
2013 F150 same issue after a heavy rain. Also passenger side only
Check those cab vents. Seems to be a common issue
My 2010 150 had water coming in, but it was from the rear window. I resealed it myself, but I’m still getting the headliner stains that I can’t figure out.
Do you have a sunroof? I've heard that ford forgot to connect drain hoses on certain years from the drain channel in the sun roof
@@theguyofalltrades negative, no sunroof, no rear slider. New, updated third brake light, re-sealed back window, and re-sealed the top weatherstrip trim, but still get the stains during heavy rains. 🤷♂️
@@dm7097 Do you have the rivets on the back of the roof on the cab? Maybe there?
Any suggestions for extracting the water pool in the foot well? I have inclined and declined each end of the truck, nothing drained unfortunately.
You can use a wet dry vac or siphon it out with a piece of tubing. I used the tubing I had from a fish tank air pump
The rear port is definitely leaking, but not along the outside edges. The middle cavities are filling up.
@@brendenrobertsonI definitely see water peeking through using a hose but it never makes it into the truck with normal driving
correction, weep hole goes in rocker panels, 2 ea. also what about leak in overhead pillar, is this a common thing on older f150's and is roofing cement @ end of rain gutter a good fix?
I’ve heard of the manufacturer not connecting drain hoses on moon roofs on certain runs of vehicles on certain years. Seam sealer would work amazing if water is penetrating in from one of those pillar seams. I’m not sure about older f150’s but this water problem seems to plague 2015 and newer. A google search shows that 2002 models have issues with pillar leaks but most of them were due to clogged moon roof drain lines
No skylite here, there is a video that identifies cracks in water channels
i had the same thing to my 2017 ford150 i hope this my problem thank you for the insite
