    I found your videos after i learnt to flip the knot from another video and chains and picots from yet other videos. I am still an early beginner though, and decided to watch this to see if i could learn something, as fundamentals are important. And i did. I was winding on in a windmill fashion and didn't know about the walk wind. I also learnt about tensioning in a new way which i'll try. I'm also watching your other vidoes. thank you for your great teaching and really clear videos.

    Thank you lovely lady, without your guidance I would never have began tatting myself, your teaching is so brilliantly done. Keep them coming teach as many as you can. It’s great to see this craft come to light for all generations to learn.

    Thank you, I wanted to see if my way of teaching was like yours and it is. I’ve been tatting for 20 years and have recently been teaching at a senior center but the covid has been interrupting our follow up classes. Hope you’re doing well, I’ve been watching all your videos, they’re well done.

      I'm happy you're enjoying the videos. Covid has caused havoc everywhere. I am meant to be teaching sewing and tatting face to face, but classes have been permanently cancelled. I am hoping to get some sewing videos up soon.

    Thank you so much for your excellent video. I kept dropping the shuttle and now I see how you slightly move your finger to let it slide. I believe this will help me so much Thank you again.

      I'm so glad it helped you! You're right, you don't let go of the shuttle - but 'loosen your grip' so the thread can slide between your finger and the shuttle - it's hard to explain in writing! 🤣I do online zoom classes too - they can be a class of 4 or individual.
      You're welcome to pm me if you would like information.

    Wow! What an amazing video. I learned how to tat 40+ years ago by a very old lady with out any books and very old shuttles. After. Recovering from a very bad broken wrist, I wanted to go back to this old art form. I find a lot of different tatting terms, methods and tools very different when I first learned. After watching a few of your videos, I like the technique and the speed you “throw” your shuttle. After watching this video, it has improved my technique and speed very much. Thank you for your time, talent and patience for given us you awesome videos.

    is it possible to use the pinch with middle finger and thumb which is more the way I am used to in crochet? Many thanks.

    • @NooBearAus
      @NooBearAus  Год назад

      If this works for you then absolutely. I also crochet and found the same thing when I first started tatting - it felt really weird to do it the other way! I do find that my thread flows better and my tension is better with the first finger and thumb pinch, but this could just be me 😆Do what works best for you.

    Am I the only person in the world who spends trying to learn a new tecknique kin each new row and spends two hours doing the teckniwue over and over , ripping out and at it again?

    • @NooBearAus
      @NooBearAus  Год назад

      In my classes I show you how to do the technique, we make as many samples as you need, then homework is to make a doily or motif using the technique you just learnt.
