Same as the Legend 1997 performance you saw before, this has nothing to do with the bible or Christianity. Yes they are probably Buddhist or Shinto in their private lives, but that is equally irrelevant. This performance was about rebirth so they have used the most recognisable symbology surrounding that theme (if anything it is paying respect to this being the clearest way of demonstrating that, it is mocking nothing). It is the same sort of symbology as many western metal bands might use in their shows and it is effectively no different to western bands using oriental symbols etc - those symbols mean nothing to them either, they just think they look cool.
This is the rebirth of BABYMETAL or the birth of the "new" BABYMETAL.
These concerts were on 1st and 2nd April 2023 and the concert titles were BABYMETAL Begins, Black Night and Clear Night.
At the end of Black Night they ended the original BABYMETAL and the Metal Resistance lore they had been acting out since they started was finally concluded. They revealed they were making a fresh start with the new Metalverse lore as the "new" BABYMETAL with 3 re-born metal spirits - Su-metal, Moametal and their new third member Momometal.
This was the first encore on Clear Night and they brought 'BABYMETAL DEATH' back for the first time since 2017.
'BABYMETAL DEATH' was the first song on the first album and the few lyrics there are is simply them introducing themselves and BABYMETAL by name.
Just to clarify, the word desu (the U is silent) means I am, it is, we are etc - spoken with a slight lisp it sounds very much like the English word death. The lyrics are:
    "B_A_B_Y_M_E_T_A_L" "Su-metal death/desu", "Moametal death/desu", "Momometal death/desu", "BABYMETAL death/desu" "Death Death Death Death!"
Normally they would open concerts with this song. They stopped playing it at all after 2017 when Yui couldn't perform and then left the band in 2018 ... it was brought back here in April 2023 when Momometal became the official third member and they could once again introduce themselves as a trio - it has been the regular opening number again ever since then and they make their entrance just walking onto the stage, no crosses or whatever.

For those who say BABYMETAL is not metal, I give you this performance.
OTFGK, but an interesting take posted on BABYMETAL REDDIT by VulpineDeity:
Take it a step farther. Not only does 'SU-METAL DESU' mean she's introducing herself, it's also her super-hero transformation phrase.
Like on Sailor Moon, Usagi says 'Moon Prism Power!' and turns into Sailor Moon, Suzuka Nakamoto shouts 'I am SU-METAL' and becomes possessed by the spirit of the Fox God and transforms into the Metal Goddess SU-METAL.
The magical girl who transforms into a hero is a huge trope in Japan, comparable to Disney princesses in the west. BABYMETAL DEATH! follows the trope and it's the moment that they all transform into their magical alter egos at the start of the show.
