For people having trouble farming ectoplasm, just make artificial dungeon anywhere you like with dungeon walls + shimmer. Note that there are three types of walls, each spawning unique enemies, however ectoplasms appear from any dungeon enemy

For anyone new, know that this guide is somewhat out of date. It's a great guide, but three main things have been changed: 1: The Shroomite Helmet that boosted rockets now boosts everything not boosted by the other two helmets, which still include rockets, but now also includes ammo like gel and fallen stars. 2: The Spectre helms have been changed. The Mask was buffed, now sending out ghostly projectiles whenever you hit an enemy. The Hood was nerfed, still providing it's lifesteal, but now nerfs your magic damage by 40%. 3: There is now an alternative to Spooky Armor, Tiki Armor. It is bought from the Witch Doctor after beating Plantera, and provides less minion bonuses than the Spooky Armor, but has whip bonuses that the Spooky Armor doesn't.
My friend and I are inching close to that stage in the game. However we are experiencing a typhoon and his power was knocked out. Now I’m impatiently waiting by farming hardmode bosses… this storm needs to end

I legit almost killed him (he was 30K health) and i was using an UFO mount and full set beetle armor😭 (Im in mobile and i tottaly didn't use the vortex beater)

Shroomite helmet boosts all non bullet and arrow weapons. Flamethrowers, piranha gun, darts, etc.
