Thanks for uploading this. I got stuck on advanced and gave up because of my inability to do all its insane tech. These silent videos allow me to still appreciate the content the mod has to offer, from a distance, even if I’m physically incapable myself, at least for now. Starfruit Supernova is some of the best pixel art I’ve ever seen, by the way.
I've just started the lobby. I did not think that it would be such a huge jump from advanced. Like, really, I'm struggling on the green levels. But I'm not planning on giving up even if it will take me a long time to beat these levels. The fact that I CAN get through them eventually is enough.
yeahhh a lotta the maps close to spawn are prettttty tough to finish unfortunately. if you haven't played them yet i'd try out Hydroshock and Meaningless Contraptions, both aren't too tricky and can help ease you into the rest of the difficulty
@@fonda1515 Thanks, I'll try them out. For now I've completed Golden Alleyways and I'm almost done with Subway Neon. I'm a bit handicapped because I'm playing on my 60hz laptop, so the response time is probably making everything harder. Once I'm back on my PC I'll be more precise with movement tech.
after just over 44 hours in the expert lobby, i've finally unlocked the heartside, and this video was INTEGRAL to that. what a beautiful experience. thanks for the clears!
If you're willing to put in the time and effort you will 1000% get there eventually, and all these crazy techs are gonna feel like a cakewalk. We all gotta start from somewhere 😎
@@Messmer_the_impaler-serpent sadly college goes crazy and I got distracted, ive been meaning to go back for a while though, I just checked and where I left off I had completed about half of the advanced lobby, some of each difficulty
Hearing the creator of such a kickass map like clockwork getting stoked about the mechanics of lunar pagoda is very funny to me, but it’s also a message mappers; any mapper that has made something impressive can be also be similarly impressed or dumbfounded by your work as well, so to any mapper: always keep trying to refine your skills, and avid grinder like me will probably appreciate it, and maybe the community will too
I entered Strawberry Jam as a complete newbie to modded Celeste, and I've just now gotten into the expert maps. I've beaten System.InvalidMapException and Overgrown Linn so far, and both of them were a ton of fun. System was fairly easy (for expert, anyway), and Linn was hard but fun. Golden Alleyway, though, is an absolute nightmare. It's not because it's hard, it's because the rooms were massively sporadic in difficulty. Rooms 2 & 5 each took me over 600 deaths each to clear, and room 5 in particular required nuts routing, including an inconsistent super bounce and a tough updash wall jump right at the end of the room. But rooms 3 & 4 were both laughably easy in comparison; I think I got past room 3 in about a dozen attempts, and room 4 didn't take me more than 100. I'm currently only halfway through, because my fingers are legit hurting. Thankfully the rest of the gameplay is feather based, which should be less taxing.
Yeah people have generally found golden alleyway to be one of the tougher green maps. if you want another easier one to go to next I'd recommend Hydroshock or Meaningless Contraptions, they're both much simpler in terms of routing and execution (and fun fact: both were originally advanced maps that got moved up to expert!)
@@fonda1515 I'm already halfway through the map and I should be good. Was Golden Alleyway also bumped up to Expert? I haven't seen any expert tech in the map so far, so it's possible someone made it for advanced but ended up way too hard for that lobby.
@@berr21able Nah that one was always in expert, some maps just didn't use tech as much as the others. there ARE some maps even more difficult than golden alleyway that got bumped up though (looking at you ethereal ascension)
this lobby is prob the end of my strawberry jam journey for now i struggled with even the green maps (specifcilly golden alleyway) a lot although im very glad i went through it all the maps were amazing (clockwork is the best good job you made the best map ever) for being the first mod i played after vanilla celeste im very proud of how far i got, when i got to intermediate lobby i was like "idk if i can do this" and now im on expert
good on you for making it that far! even getting through advanced is a super admirable feat and we by no means expect every player of this mod to make it all the way to grandmaster. super glad you enjoyed my map btw!
yoo thanks for enjoying my switch gate bs! you are much appreciated 😎 there will be a video for the GM lobby! I've been kinda working on it on and off though cause of schoolwork (and also i only actually beat the GM lobby just a few days ago lol)
I had the itch to listen to these again, so thank you! Even better that it's a playthrough by the very creator of clockwork! Edit: a shame about the music skips, but understandable. I love the music, but there's something odd about hearing the music without movement sound effects, so videos it was :)
Do you happen to know what's up there in polaris at 2:11:25 ? I don't wanna progress further without knowing. Can you actually do the jump or is the dash crystal there for trolling?
I think there's just a funny secret up there, you have to do a reverse cornerboost to reach it which is stupid hard and i haven't been able to do it a single time yet
@@fonda1515 Ah okay thanks bc i couldn't get up there myself but it's good to know that im not really missing out on anything then. And keep up the good work :)
@@xxfaze_mastashrekxx3354 actually I think it’s set up in a lenient way and you don’t have to do it perfectly so I do recommend it (it makes you feel like a badass) But yeah it’s a very minor secret

Yeah you only unlock it once you've gotten the other berries, I believe it remembers your progress from previous playthroughs as long as you're on the same save file though?
This is impressive gameplay! Clockwork was such a cool level
much appreciated 🙏donovan a real one over here

Hey ! This comment is almost 1 year old so I am curious, did you manage to beat advanced and get in expert ?

after seeing the ending, i'm a bit upset that i didn't go into lunar pagoda blind

if we're talking about the best collab/contest lobby then it's still dream collab 2022, but this is also pretty good.
hard disagree because i saw the fez map in dc22 and thought it was going to be chill and atmospheric ;-;
rip to you i guess
Fonda, I saw a cat at the time 2:35:27 in the video. Do you know how to get it, cuz i don't.
I figured it out! you have to make ur way inbetween the platforms to get to the cat, which actually has a cutscene, not a petting animation.
thank you for this I have finally beaten expert mode and scared to do GM
me: superstructure from advanced lobby too hard
59:21 how do you get rid of that red switch wall thing? Do you have to beat the previous berry to be able to get this one?
