Enjoy watching your videos. Always a joy seeing an old model revived, something I do a lot of in my spare time. One tip for you - it's much easier to fit the brushes to an X04 motor when it is out of the chassis. This also allows you to check the motor runs freely by connecting the battery across the top of the brushes. The remagnetiser you mentioned early in the video is indeed an excellent piece of kit and well worth it if you have enough locos with motors like the X04. Keep up the good work!
Long live the Pannier Tank. Great job of getting her up and running again mate, she's running as well as the new model locomotives. I would suggest you keep her in black, but I think you should renumber her, plus the Great Western Steam Locomotives which ran on British Railways and they have four numbers not five like the other steam locos when they ran on British Railways. How about renumbering her back to 8751? I own the Hornby Railways Pannier Tank No.8751, but in GWR Green livery. Now you have your Pannier Tank from your childhood back in working order, don't forget to sort out your Hornby Ivatt Mogul, but take all the time as much as you want. Once again, great video & keep up the good work.
Lovely to see another locomotive joining the Padshaw Junction fleet. I think that brings you up to 7 steam locos? Correct me if in wrong. You always make great videos and like me you seem to like a cup of tea. Can't beat a good cuppa whilst running trains. Nice video as always Pad.
Another wonderful video! So I take it my request went through? Great video man love the steam trains, please do another tank if possible! Once again from your regular video in South Africa 🇿🇦
That does look the same as my Pannier with smoke. The smoke unit takes the place of the weight (from what I can recall) and uses another gear locked on top of the drive gear to operate the piston that pumps the smoke out, I think.
I'd say that for a young boy you did a pretty good job on that Pannier loco, especially the fitting of a driver, and let the purists say and do what they want (they started of tinkering without experience too). Main goal of a hobby is to enjoy it (meanwhile developing the insight to do a better job next time). 🚂🚃🖖🚃😉🚃👍🚃💨
Something about that vintage 0-6-0 really appeals.
Definitely a design with character 👍
Great video thanks for sharing, I love messing around with these old Triang/Hornby items, keep it going Ktf J
Thanks John, it's still going strong !
