DEN3366 ah a lovely and classic last. Well looking down at these shoes sometimes make me feel the same way you do with yours. Oh I wish they made more shoes in an F width. That would be the sweet spot for me :)
Stupid question; why do C&J use E as their standard width when every other English shoemaker uses F? My impression of C&J shoes is that they are generally narrower than e.g. Loake or Cheaney so perhaps that’s the reason?
marksshoereviews good question! As far as I know shoe widths differ from brand to brand. E would be C&J’s standard width which I imagine fits most people. They used to offer a larger variety of shoes which would be available in different last widths. That appears to have changed but I believe that you can commission a shoe in a different width, for a small premium. If you call the store, they will give you some information on that.
Hi Azlan, generally speaking yes :) different brands sometimes use different ‘standard’ width. For C&J, size E is standard (hardly any of their models are available in size F) whereas for example Clark’s offer G as standard width.
Hi Thomas, unfortunately not. I believe they are used for the Pembrokes, which I don’t own, but imagine the G width will look in proportion as the Pembroke is a slightly ‘chunkier’ shoe anyway.
I love the colour!
Is 9&1/2 your regular size?
I've got the same problem with 341 in G width.
348 in G still looks great though, 341 in G looks a bit overweight.

DEN3366 The 341 in E is a very narrow last for my feet! I can only wear that last in suede which is more soft and forgiving.

E is a narrow fit, while F is a medium and ‘regular’ fit no? Sounds like F would be a good fit for you. :-)

G'day Sir! Are you familiar with C&j 317 last G width?
