Welcome back to another Sketchbook Time! Grab your art supplies and draw or paint along with me, or just settle down with a cup of tea and a snack and enjoy watching me experiment in my sketchbook or 40 minutes, layering and mark making. It was fascinating to see how the different materials and colours worked together - I hope that it inspires you to play in your sketchbook too! This is a very chatty video with no music, so it's perfect to put on in the background while you work. I'll also tell you a little bit about something I've been working on behind the scenes over the past couple of weeks!
Its well late for this video, but at least you'll know there's people lovingly watching all of your past videos 😄🥰 discovered you several months ago and its been wonderful working through all of your videos, you are amazing with what you do, so inspiring and relaxing, love your art style🌻🌻
I loved this sketchbook time chat! 💖 I really enjoyed just the sound of you drawing and sharing your thoughts without any background music. I thought that this video had a bit of a Tony Hart vibe to it! (High praise indeed!) I half expected Morph to turn up! 😁 Your sketch reminded me of the rain sweeping in over the chalky hills that we can see from our window. Very relaxing 😎😘 xxx
Thank you! 🖤 I think that next time I'd like to chat a little less and just be quiet and listen to the sound of the pencil or crayon on the paper - I love that! I'm so honoured to be mentioned in the same comment as the legend that is Tony Hart. 🙌 It's funny how something that was supposed to be completely abstract and just a layering/mark-making exercise still turned out to represent a landscape! 😂😘 xxx
Made it to the end! The video came at the perfect time to keep me company over breakfast☕️ and I will now go play in my sketchbook. The ash green and warm brown combination look so serene and beautiful💚 I think you would make a great relaxing/asmr video sketching, I love the sound of pencils on paper and brushes in water bowls
I keep thinking about making a more ASMR-ish video with different relaxing drawing or painting sounds...definitely something to consider! Thanks Elena. :)
I would never say never, but I think I'd find live streams a bit too stressful and distracting! I'm so pleased that you enjoy the no music, chatty videos. I'd like to chat less next time though, and have a few more art sounds. :)
As an abstract painter myself,so lovely to get to see you experimenting in this way too,and just having fun with different media,I love how working in such an unhibited way in your sketchbook can be really inspring and can feed back into your regular work later on. I spend some time each day win my sketchbooks doing the same thing, just playing, it helps get me going, and it means I can really explore all my different media too. Layering is such a great thing to do as well,it's that sense of exploration and seeing what will appear as you work. So glad to hear that working like this is also already feeding back into the evoution of you regular work. I find my trditional workig really now influences my digital working and vice versa. I'm happy to hear you have arrived at a work/life balance that works for you and that you can take forward as well, your creative well being will really gain strength from this am sure.Hope Patreon really takes off for you in september and it futher enhances the community that has built up around you here on RUclips.RUclips content is more work than people realise I had a chnnnel for a short time and it almost took over my life,I enjoyed it,but my work suffered in the end,but I learnt a lot doing it. I can really see my work evolving as I'm using sketchbooks more; I think it's such an important part of our art practice. :) Thanks so much for your kind words about Patreon, I'm very excited about it and the content I'll be sharing on there. I'll let you know when your postcard set is on its way - I'm gradually making my way through the orders! The DS watercolour ground does sound intriguing, I've heard several people talking about it recently. I love that you're always experimenting, and that you. love and value your art supplies as much as I do mine! Have a great weekend, Matt. Take care. x
@@NatashaNewtonArt Melanie Chadwick has just uploaded the follow up video about her homemade concertina sketchbooks,if you have a liitle time it's really worth watching,so inspiring. Hi! Yes, we do love you experimenting, informal and unintentional ASMR ;) Less is more, I also prefer videos without music. Have a lovely end of summer.
Thank you! I agree - I'm going to try to include more of the natural sounds of drawing and painting in the next Sketchbook Time as I find them so relaxing. :)
made it until the end as always :) You are so right, can't wait to discover your Patreon offerings too. Thanks, I definitely won't forget the art book reviews! ;) I'm taking notice of the videos that seem most popular with my audience on RUclips, so I'll certainly continue with those, and try to vary the content I upload here as well. The Patreon content will be more in-depth with more emphasis on my art practice and process - lots of painting/drawing/sketchbooks!
This was soooooo satisfying and fun love you chatting and sharing preferred to music thanks Natasha ofcourse I made it to the end enjoy your journey every time thanks for sharing 🙌
Hi Natasha, everyone must be asleep. I am surprised to see I am the second comment. It is 7.18pm here in Australia. You inspired me to buy a few Windsor and Newton Gouache tubes. I have been painting with water colour. Also bought oil pastels. Really enjoy using them. Really appreciate your encouragement to experiment. Thank you.
And I think the first one was a spam comment! (I've reported it!) 😂 I love the Winsor & Newton gouache, I've been using them for years. Consistently good quality and great colours - I hope you enjoy them too!
Unbeknownst to you I have spent the whole afternoon with you today! 😊 ...you at your desk & me at mine .. I even found myself replying to you on a couple of occasions!! 🤣😂🤣. Thank you for such a lovely comment (I'm really behind on the comments and catching up whenever I can, as you can see!). I love that you had my video on while you were at your desk too. :) Glad to keep you company! xx
I am so glad i found your channel! you and your art inspire me to "break away from being precise in the art" now I wanna art haul and just randomly paint something 😄
Natasha, I absolutely love seeing you change up your style a bit and chat about it. This sketchbook work is textured and I quite like it as it is. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us!
Made it to the end. Think you taught me a few things too. Need to be more loose in sketchbooks and not worry about perfection! Lovely video as always :) I look forward to the Patreon channel too !
I enjoyed watching your whole video, but I had to chuckle at your difficulty in stopping :). I need to loosen up my sketches too and I am going to gather my far flung art supplies to play now.
I watched to the end. I started my first ever sketchbook last year, and after a few starts i finally got it - why a sketchbook! you learn and try and play and get thoughts out your head. I know try to do a page or two every day after i walk. I am certainly going to try the finger painting!
It took me a while to figure out why a sketchbook is so important (and fun!). Now that I've finally managed to loosen up and just enjoy working in them, I can't imagine not using them regularly now!
I love this style of video! I save them to watch whilst I'm working on some artwork and it feels like I have company, like I'm drawing alongside a friend 😊
Well I also made it till the end ;). I am listening and watching to your videos while working on my digital artwork :), I think I'we watched 4 or five of them today, haha you will have much more watch hours now ;). Love your work, so u unique :)
I made it to the end quite happily. My worry was that you were going to cover your white bridge that goes who knows where! This was wonderful to watch; thank you so much. And I loved your finished painting. It’s just great!
I am a little late to this video, but I wanted to comment. I love listening to your voice. It is very calming and lovely. I also love watching art videos and I am also trying to give myself permission to loosen up in my sketchbooks as well. Watching people playing with art supplies is always inspiring! I like to listen to your videos when I am working on boring excel files at work!
Thanks Angela, I'm so pleased that you're enjoying the videos and that they keep you company during boring tasks! It is hard to loosen up and I have to actively keep persuading myself to do it, because my natural tendency is to be quite tight in my work.
I love the expressive style! and so glad you didn’t use music. I prefer to hear the voice and thought process of the artist rather than a music video 😊. I think because we all interpret and experience a piece of music differently, it can inadvertently change the experience of the viewer.
I havent tried guoche yet, I'm working on a watercolor palette at the moment but mayb in the future I will try them out, I really like the sea scape u showed in ur sketchbook at first very pretty I love all of them actually lol I think the turquoise kind of abstract one would b an awsome post card, the sea scape would b a good one too really but I would totally hang them both on my wall lol I have to say I really like the way u did one in ur usual style also, I think the looser version is very cool tho very different it seems more free mayb idk lol but anyway awsome video thank u for sharing ur process with us
That was so enjoyable. I'm so glad you mentioned the glassine envelopes, I did not realize they were eco-friendly! It'll be so nice to "see" you in Patreon :)
Thanks Marie-Laure! Apparently, they're made entirely of paper (no wax coating or anything), even though they feel super smooth! It's just to do with the manufacturing process. :)
I always feel when I’m trying to do art while giving instruction or chatting that I sound like an absolute idiot because I keep stalling every time I focus on the art so I know exactly what you mean. Lol
I made it to the end! Love seeing your experiments with layering. I really enjoy that type of playing too! Good luck with your evolving business endeavors! Thank you💜
Oh, Natasha! You are adorable, as if making it to the end of one of your videos is actually a challenge.😄 The Patreon news is very exciting- looking forward to the launch. Thanks for sharing your process.😘
Ah, thank you! :) I'm excited about Patreon too; it'll be fun to have a slightly more private community where I can share a little extra with the people who want that! x
Hi Natasha, made it to the end, of course! I really enjoy your videos and your voice is so soothing 😊 I love how free this drawing is. It’s something I should try but I’m always so worried about wasting art supplies. Which is silly I know, they’re meant to be used after all 😅 Exciting news about your Patreon 😍 Have you ever considered doing live streams? I wonder if that could be a good balance between you managing to focus on your art and putting out content? Great video as alway, thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us 💚
Thanks so much, Nikki! I also worry about wasting art supplies, which is why I didn't ever really experiment like this in the past. I would have seen it as time that I could have spent (not to mention supplies that I could have used) on work that I'd be making to sell. It did feel like a bit of a waste. But then I realised that it's not just about the end result, but that I learn so much and gain so much enjoyment from the process itself. I feel that it's really helping my art to evolve in a way that's much faster and more satisfying than it otherwise would have done. :)
I enjoyed your video, thank you for sharing. I like to play with my art products too to see what I can do with them. It is fun. Yes, I made it to the end. I am interested in helping to support you through patron, if I can. Take care and stay well! Fran
Made it to the end. Love your artwork and videos. I also don’t care for the music in the background, it’s usually too loud. I like hearing the artwork being done and hearing the artist talk. I haven’t tried the PITT oil pencils. I will have to try those. Have a great week.
Love your vids and will check out your patreon! This is a super old video I know but do you have any tips regarding purchasing non mixing (kinda) top layering/mark making supplies (looking at neocolours and want some coloured/watercolour/pastel - unsure pencils) for someone who doesn’t yet have a ‘signature palette’ but is also on somewhat of a budget to find one? I’m finding I have a few basic sets of various supplies but unless you go and buy the expensive 72+ etc sets that means I have the same (bright!) colours over and over again. I don’t paint/draw any one thing in particular (landscapes, portraits, seas etc) that lend themselves to an obvious collection, it’s all abstract mark making using various inspiration, but I know I don’t want to just keep doing relatively bright things. I personally like greys, teals, pinks (many of the colours in this video!) so should I just go and buy a few individual supplies in the colours I just personally like? What’s a good number of shades to trial? Or should I try and work on lots of colour mixing practice to see if I can establish a ‘signature palette’ through mixable supplies first (mainly playing with gouache atm, some watercolour) and just continue to only work with harsh black, white and metallics on top (poscas and gel pens) because that’s about all I have that will layer above (or some tempera sticks for big blobs but again all bright)? Or I could get a basic neo colours set so I can at least have these to work on top even if it’ll be the same 10 or 15 bright colours that I feel constrained to at the moment. I’ve got a bit of money to spend but just can’t stretch to lots of top selection sets, unless I went for a large set of much cheaper colouring pencils to at least see what I reach for? (I find colour mixing kills my spontaneity a lot in the sense of working out favourite colours!). Thanks!
I made it to the end! I love your chattier videos and listening to your thoughts on your exploration process. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with Patreon!
And, I made it to the end, lovely sketch book rambling through your creative play!! I wondered how you got the melted look with your gouache.....fingers!!!
I made it to the end! I would have anyway even if it was twice the length because I absolutely love your work and your videos. So glad about patreon, I was waiting for it to happen!🤩🎉
Made it to the end! I love the idea of playing in a sketchbook with leftover paint on a palette. I've started doing that too. I also love experimenting with dry drawing media on top. I have so many different kinds I can try!
I hate music with videos unless it’s a music video I love to hear what you think it’s really indormanitave I learn a ton even when u just think you’re playing I learn a lot , I say down with the music in art videos natasha
Hi Natasha - I made it to the end (of course!). Thank you for not using music - it's such a relief. I look forward to exploring your Patreon offerings 🙂
I made it to the end 🙌 Great video Natasha. I'm with you on the music. I love listening to you chatting while you work. This exercise has been really interesting, watching how different mediums layer (or not) over one another. Also it is wonderful that you are changing to environmentally friendly packaging. And!...Good luck with your patreon. That is such a good idea. Exciting times! X
Thanks Lesley, I'm so glad that you enjoyed it! The switch to eco-friendly packaging is something I'm excited about - it's taking a bit of research but I'm gradually getting there and changing the packaging I use little by little. :) x
I really enjoy it _without_ music. 🤗 I often find music can get in the way, unless it's used as a junction between one 'scene' and the next (in *everyone's* videos, not just yours!) Also, if viewers are using videos to help them relax, then creators who haven't quite got the mixing levels right, means the music is much louder than the voice, or louder than the previous 'scene' and it's a bit jarring, and you have to constantly adjust the volume as the viewer. HTH. Loving your videos, Natasha. 🖤 (I made it to the end, btw! Good luck with the Patreon - great idea - you're a business, not a charity, so do what's right for you. x)
I totally agree with you about the music! It's a really tricky thing to get right with the levels etc. and for it not to be too distracting or intrusive. And thank you for the Patreon good luck! 🧡 xx
I love this format. It really suits your style a voice. I used to follow a painter in the Philipines whose ordinary background soundscape was blissful - so much birdsong - and there was nothing competing with his voice and the birds. Then he started putting one of those cheesy "atmospheric" background soundtracks on, and it was awful! You carry on with the quiet videos. You can put some music on for any time-lapses, or periods where you're taking a break.
Good Luck with your abstracts I have also enjoyed just playing with layering, have not ventured into finger painting just yet. but i guess you're braver than me. Good luck with your print shop and your Patreon account, super exciting developments for you always make it to the end...
Thank you for always making it to the end! I'm really excited about the prints/postcards and about Patreon - although I've rescheduled Patreon for early October as I was trying to fit too much into this month already!
Made it to the end 😊 Your videos are some of my absolute favorite art videos to watch. I think I discovered you on RUclips as a recommendation after I watched a Sandi Hester video. Anyway, glad I found you!
So happy and excited for the Patreon launch! 😁😁 I messaged you via IG asking about how I could support you and then you posted this video! P.s. I also reached out regarding some supplies I wanted to offer you, so please let me know if they are of interest 😊
Thank you so much! I'll try to find the message in my IG inbox (I tend to largely avoid it because it's crazy - I can't keep up with it!). But that's very kind of you. I'll have a look in a bit. :)
I was coloring in a black background enchanted twilight I believe , post card coloring book while you did sketchbook time , so muxh fun doing some thing fun while you’re doing the same ( having fun) while creating , I’m glad when I can do something creative with someone else feel like we’re in the same room , thanks natasha
I made it to the end 😉 Really enjoyed this video and you've inspired me to just play and be more loose with my supplies👍 I think I'll try something abstract too...
I made it to the end as always. I find your tutorial's a pleasure to watch, it was nice to hear your soothing and relaxing voice. I too steer away from watching videos with music, or I will mute. Ty for your time and giving me inspiration. 💓
Always make it to the end, often bit sad when they end lol. Love this sort of video, the music can often b too much and like u say, one ends up turning it off. Love your work. Thankyou 😊
Of course I made it to the end because I really enjoy your videos. I grab a tea and a sit down or do some painting. Love the idea of a Patreon, I follow two artists at the moment and yes I will definitely look at yours 😻
@@NatashaNewtonArt I had a happy surprise while playing along in my Etchr HP sketch book: I did some layering with Unison soft pastel over watercolour. I don't know that it would have longevity but it didn't transfer to the other page.
I recently bought the Cretacolor oil pencils and I really like them. I wish they were available in a range of colors. (I have yet to find a use for the white one.)
at 61 I am going to have treatments for heavy metals. please take care when using your fingers. Our bodies do not excrete heavy metals and they build up in your system over your lifetime. Many of the artist colors have chemicals that are really harmful. ( Just some unwanted advice). love your work.
How funny I actually bought a full set of 84 neocolor 2 and 30set of necolor 1 just last week and waiting for them to arriving because of your last sketchbook video where you demonstrated the fence you did. I though j love watercolours so I must get neocolor 2. And in aus everything is exp and shipping to ais is crazy so might as well just get the whole lot in one go hahahaha opppssssssss

Made it to the end. Think you taught me a few things too. Need to be more loose in sketchbooks and not worry about perfection! Lovely video as always :) I look forward to the Patreon channel too !
It's so hard to let go of perfection (or the pursuit of it anyway!). Thanks Lari. :)
I enjoyed watching your whole video, but I had to chuckle at your difficulty in stopping :). I need to loosen up my sketches too and I am going to gather my far flung art supplies to play now.
When I watched it back, I laughed at that part too! Happy playing - have fun! :)
Thanks Emily! I know what you mean, as I do exactly the same thing with other artists' videos. :)
Made it to the end!
This was so relaxing, thank you!
You're welcome Anja, thank you for watching! 😊
I made it to the end :-) Looking forward to your Patreon adventure!
Thank you so much!
I Love it
Thanks Isabel!
i bought the caran d'ache pan aet of gouache it works so well i love it i have several other kinds including WN like something about all of thwm
Well I also made it till the end ;). I am listening and watching to your videos while working on my digital artwork :), I think I'we watched 4 or five of them today, haha you will have much more watch hours now ;). Love your work, so u unique :)
Ah, thank you so much! :)
I made it to the end quite happily. My worry was that you were going to cover your white bridge that goes who knows where! This was wonderful to watch; thank you so much. And I loved your finished painting. It’s just great!
Thanks so much, Mariangela! I'll definitely take some of the techniques I used here and incorporate them into one of my finished paintings.
The finger paint method went well.
Hi Natasha, enjoy watching this video and thank you for great sharing of art material and techniques! Love the finger painting, really fun !👍
Thank you! 🖤 I need to use my fingers more often - it is a LOT of fun!
I made it to the end!
I made it to the end! ☺️
Thanks Ira! ;)
Made it to the end… I enjoy your chatty no music vids… love hearing your process … and so excited about Patreon coming soon…
Thank you so much! So glad that you enjoy the videos. I'm excited about Patreon too! :)
Made it to the end, but then I always do Relaxing and inspiring, looking forward to Patreon
Thanks so much, Denise! I'm looking forward to it too.
Thank you💜
Thanks Melissa! 🖤 I'm finding that playing like this is really helping me to loosen up (both my art and my mind, ha ha!)
Oh, Natasha! You are adorable, as if making it to the end of one of your videos is actually a challenge.😄 The Patreon news is very exciting- looking forward to the launch. Thanks for sharing your process.😘
Ah, thank you! :) I'm excited about Patreon too; it'll be fun to have a slightly more private community where I can share a little extra with the people who want that! x
made it to the end. I'm trying to be more loose with my own art as well. Best of luck with Patreon
Thanks Jazmin!
Hi Natasha, made it to the end, of course! I really enjoy your videos and your voice is so soothing 😊
I love how free this drawing is. It’s something I should try but I’m always so worried about wasting art supplies. Which is silly I know, they’re meant to be used after all 😅
Exciting news about your Patreon 😍
Have you ever considered doing live streams?
Fran
Thanks so much, Fran! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
Made it to the end and very much appreciate the omission of music. Look forward to learning more about your Patreon.
Much appreciated, thank you! :)
I made to the end! :) Also I really like chatty videos that way I can draw my own projects and have a company. Thank you Natasha! :)
Yay! Thank you. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the video. I love filming these ones!
Made it to the end. Love your artwork and videos. I also don’t care for the music in the background, it’s usually too loud. I like hearing the artwork being done and hearing the artist talk. I haven’t tried the PITT oil pencils. I will have to try those. Have a great week.
Thanks Mailee! I'm so pleased that you're enjoying the videos. :)
I made it to the end , but I always do. I love all your videos, music, talking ,walking and studio. You have the best balance. ❤️Annie
Thank you so much, Annie! It's really kind of you to say that. :)
Thank you from Switzerland. Nice color choices and techniques!
Thank you so much!
I'm learning British English, and love art. So this is the best channel to watch to learn both of them.
That's very kind of you, thank you!
I really like your additional mark making it adds another dimension to your work Natasha.
Thank you, Aleta!
I made it to the end. So funny. I always do because I enjoy them so much. Wishing you all the best.
That's lovely to hear, thank you!
Also, I’m looking forward to your Patreon! I’ll be there.
Thank you! :)
Thanks!
It looks like a road or a river during a downpour! I love it! (I made it to the end :))
It does! And thank you. :)
I made it to the end!
I love your chattier videos and listening to your thoughts on your exploration process. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with Patreon!
Thanks Amanda! It's really nice to hear that you enjoy this type of video. :)
Aw, thanks Isabel! That’s lovely. 🤗
I do love to hear you chatting I feel like I’m there with you 2 friends plus hundreds just hanging out the music is way too much babe
I enjoyed this video and of course made it to the end ;)
Yay! Thank you! 🖤
It’s more peaceful without the music and easier to concentrate on what you are doing. 😊
I really really prefer 🚫 NO music 🚫. I like the quiet, chatty style.
I made it to the end! You are making me buy more art supplies! Love your style.
Hi Natasha - I made it to the end (of course!). Thank you for not using music - it's such a relief. I look forward to exploring your Patreon offerings 🙂
Thanks so much, Andrea! :)
I know what you mean about the viewers wanting less music and more chat I keep getting more requests for that
I made it to the end. What a relaxing video. I’m with you with no music it’s too distracting for me. Loved your chat about your art. ❤️
Thanks Susanne!
I made it to the end 🙌
Great video Natasha.
🤗 I often find music can get in the way, unless it's used as a junction between one 'scene' and the next (in *everyone's* videos, not just yours!)
Also, if viewers are using videos to help them relax, then creators who haven't quite got the mixing levels right, means the music is much louder than the voice, or louder than the previous 'scene' and it's a bit jarring, and you have to constantly adjust the volume as the viewer.
HTH. Loving your videos, Natasha. 🖤
(I made it to the end, btw!
Thank you, Nikki! Yes, background soundtracks are so tricky - if you get it wrong it can ruin the whole video.
Good Luck with your abstracts I have also enjoyed just playing with layering, have not ventured into finger painting just yet. but i guess you're braver than me.
Good luck with your print shop and your Patreon account, super exciting developments for you
always make it to the end...
Thank you so much, I really appreciate that!
Of course I made it to the end🤗love watching you work or should I say play. So pleased with the news about patroon . I’m in 👍.
Thank you so much 🥰
Thank you so much, Maureen! x
Thanks for joining me, Deborah! :)
I made it to the end!! I actually always do
Yay! Thank you. 🖤
I do like your choice of music. It’s very relaxing, but I do enjoy your commentary as well. So, it’s as you feel. It’s all good.😊
That's nice to know, thank you! :)
Beautiful video……loved these tutorials! Have been watching for 2 years now…..somehow I missed this one!
Thanks Lynn!
I made it to the end 😉 Really enjoyed this video and you've inspired me to just play and be more loose with my supplies👍 I think I'll try something abstract too...
That's great, go for it Jeanie!
I made it to the end as always. I find your tutorial's a pleasure to watch, it was nice to hear your soothing and relaxing voice. I too steer away from watching videos with music, or I will mute. Ty for your time and giving me inspiration. 💓
Thanks so much, Sarah! x
I don't do gouache but I am excited to look at your watercolors! As others have commented I like hearing your voice without the added music. Nice job.
Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
Always make it to the end, often bit sad when they end lol. Love this sort of video, the music can often b too much and like u say, one ends up turning it off. Love your work. Thankyou 😊
So glad you enjoyed it, Noreen! ♡
Of course I made it to the end because I really enjoy your videos. I grab a tea and a sit down or do some painting. Love the idea of a Patreon, I follow two artists at the moment and yes I will definitely look at yours 😻
Ah, thanks so much! I'm very excited about it. x
Are any of those supplies life fast or can you only use them to make art for print
Most of my art supplies are lightfast. The few that aren't I only use for sketchbook work / work that will become a print etc. :)
Enjoyed this as always. Had lots of fun painting along.
Thanks, I love that you painted along with me!
@@NatashaNewtonArt I had a happy surprise while playing along in my Etchr HP sketch book: I did some layering with Unison soft pastel over watercolour. I don't know that it would have longevity but it didn't transfer to the other page.
@@gardeniainbloom812 I have some Unison pastels - I'll give that a go! Thank you. :)
I always make it to the end of your videos! Much prefer them without music, chatting and art sounds are so much more relaxing
Oh my goodness, this emoji at the end of your comment! A cat in a box? I've never seen this before! LOVE. :)
I recently bought the Cretacolor oil pencils and I really like them. I wish they were available in a range of colors. (I have yet to find a use for the white one.)
I've seen those, they look like nice pencils. :)
Yay!!!!!! Patreon here you come!! I look forward to seeing where you go with this.
Thanks Michelle! Exciting times. :)
Ha ha ... you are so funny, I made it to the end ... it was a lovely journey. Thank you for sharing your art and your thoughts with us. =)
Ah, thanks Chris!
at 61 I am going to have treatments for heavy metals. please take care when using your fingers. Our bodies do not excrete heavy metals and they build up in your system over your lifetime. Many of the artist colors have chemicals that are really harmful. ( Just some unwanted advice). love your work.
Thank you for the helpful advice! I'll be extra careful from now onwards. I hope that your treatment goes well.
Always watch to the end. It's such a treat Natasha. Have you tried the cretacolor oil pencil drawing set
I haven't, but I believe you're the third person to mention them in this comment section, so I need to check them out properly! ;)
Ooh, enjoy the Neocolors! They are lovely and creamy - great to work with!
Def. made it to the end ☺️
Ah, thanks Hannah! :)
Hi Natasha, do you use any fixative product to protect the guache painting?
Hi Sara! Not with gouache. If it's in a sketchbook it should be ok, and if they're paintings I sell, they'll be framed behind glass which will protect them. :)
I made it to the end! Loved the video. It is interesting as the piece has ended up looking like an absract landscape.
Thanks Ann! You're right - it really did! I can't seem to get away from the landscapes... ;)
