Crocs don’t really have that type of mind. They usually wait for fish or other animals. They will eat stupid people if somehow they cannot avoid them or disrespect their land.
They should shoot a few of those big crocs; since protection they are very bold, and quite a danger at this particular crossing. A few dead crocs might give them a healthy fear of humans again, like they had in the 70's

Following the truck is absolutely the wrong thing to do. The truck does 2 things as it moves through the water. It acts as a temporary dam and the water has to go somewhere and it displaces a lot of water which has to go somewhere. This increases the amount of water directly behind it. Either get very very close or wait a minute for the water to go back to normal. That Hi Lux was in exactly the wrong position.
Yes I agree. I followed a truck once but he had chains attached to me.. all the others behind didn’t make it. Because the first car stalled. Very scary for them. I had v8 power to pull me through.

A bridge would get washed away in the wet season. It is tidal there and it has a concrete base, most intelligent people just wait until the tide is out. It's also in the middle of a 20,000 square kilometre national park.

The small Toyota truck had zero chance of making it across in the rushing water. It is not even close to being large and heavy enough to hold the road. Very stupid.
But then the odd chance the truck loses traction and slides off, takes the ute with them. They would’ve been better off doing what someone else said and stay right up his rear
