Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful performance. I agree with some of the comments that Argerich should be mentioned in the title so that people can more easily find this treasure - she is, after all, a legend
Beautiful playing both of them. I am sorry, but nobody realizes that Marta Argerich is angry? The end of 1st Mv. 6:19 waving right hand, and making comment to her self (Can anyone catch, what she said?). She plays ataca after 2nd Mv and 3rd Mv and at the end, she stands and bows even Renaud Capuçon's violin is still in the air. A very different ending like in ruclips.net/video/by1wWTdV6nc/видео.html where they are lovely to each other. . I hope that I am wrong, anyone had a similar feeling. Anyway, both play great. Thank you for sharing this video, and Thumbs up.
Bitte beim nächsten mal den/die PianistIn im Titel anführen, besonders, wenn es sich um ein Werk handelt, das fast schon eine Klaviersonate mit Begleiteung der Violine und die überwältigende Pianistin Martha Argerich handelt :)
@@highpointsights i do have a suspicion that playing with and without audience makes a HUGE difference. at least i myself feel that way. the level of excitement is far higher having the audience to share with and to communicate the music to
I personally find the louder piano to not be as problematic in this sonata as it would be in other violin sonatas-I think a lot of triumphant moments in the fourth movement especially sound underwhelming without a loud piano to fill out the sound. But then again I’m a pianist so I’m probably biased 😊
Why do you say that? It's not a mediocre level piece and he's not playing with low level musicality, phrasing, or style. Intonation is perfect and I feel like their sound blends well. Some comments say the piano is too loud at times but personally I feel like it works. Good intensity in places where it's needed.
I haven’t compared to many, but I like his better than Vengerov. (His interpretation and expression are a lot closer to Mikyung Sung, which is a good thing!)
@@karlhitos2208 I would sure like to hear all these students who supposedly play better, with much more flexible and expressive vibrato! (And for that manner, I know a "student'" pianist whose accompaniment in this piece I might personally prefer to Argerich's, no matter how sublime hers is...)
Absolutely the best performance of this musical masterpiece I have ever heard
His sound and expressive style is so perfect for this music.
I heard him play this many years ago and was so inspired. Argerich is amazing as usual, the piano part is fiendish in the second movement. Wonderful!
I never tire listening to this Cesar Franck piece and more so...played by a great violinist & a great pianist. Cheers to the CLASSICS.
Try it on double bass too (you may be surprised): ruclips.net/video/UZjL1d83RGY/видео.html

Que maravilloso ,es uno de los violinistas que más admiro por su calidad interpretativa y de ejecución! Bravo!
Encontrando hoje essa obra de arte me reportei nostalgicamente a 40 anos atrás... fantástico! ♥️
One good violin, one good piano. Good performance. Also thank to Franck César.
Exquisita, inpiradora y hermosa su version de esta increible Sonata
Ongelofelijk mooi gespeeld, twee zeer begaafde solisten en toch tot zo'n
eenheid van musiceren komen, 1 + 1 is hier 10!
Martha ❤
18:45 for me the most beautiful part of the whole piece, where we turn from tumult to resignation
Merveilleuse sonate,merveilleux duo !
superb‼︎ extremely impressed...

She told him: "But we rehearsed this place in a completely different way! Wow, how stubborn!" - The last two notes are quarters and no fermata.
@@БорисШалагінов Don t know. " dim. and molto lento ". The violin has the melody.
Sublime!!!

Does anyone knows when was this recorded?

OBVIOUSLY !!! Thank you for an obvious yet necessary observation!
At times the piano completely drowns the violin is the a recording or the playing
i miss the fiery connection that Martha used to have when playing with Maisky ...
Do you have any titles. I'd like tho hear some of that?

Thanks for the suggestion I went and found!! Fiery is a good description!
renaud spends a lot of time on one leg lol
They are both magnificent. It's a pity the piano is so loud overwhelming the violin...

You're right Alberto!
Definitely the piano is too loud though Martha's talent needs to be heard
I wonder what the composer's would say about the volume?

@@matthewv789 he plays like a student, check his vibrato for instance, stiff and inexpressive. Sure no match at all to such a genius pianist
