Thank you very much James for this teaching I absolutelt loves it and start doing it in the salon loves loves loves the cut❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊God blessed you,Pattie,Ireland.
Yes this is the IT cut right now where I am (Atlantic Canada) at least for my clientele. The best standard classic ever that can be textured and broken up beautifully, should you want it to be... love this! Great step by step on one of my favourite shapes! You rock!
Hey James I’ve so enjoyed the techniques you’ve shown and the “classics” really are some of my favourite things to keep learning and growing from. The past decades totally inspire me! In that light I’ve never known of a Sassoon long hair cut. Is there a Long Layer or Long Shag that he was famous for? If so, I would LOVE to see it! And I’d love to learn it from you! Of all the tutorials out there yours are by far the best! The content, the breakdown, the only saying what needs to be said is super refreshing! Tired of watching people who need to talk only for talkings sake. Hope you had a great time in Amsterdam (?). Have got to get there one day! Shawna
Face Up I totally Agree with you there is Shawna the past to is were it’s at. The only long haircut that he was ever famous for was the long graduation which is the same technique as the shag I’ll do a long graduation video at some stage I did a video about the shag I will link it in the comments, I am glad you are enjoying the videos I love making them so it’s fantastic that people enjoy watching them. Yes had a wicked time in Amsterdam thank you it is well worth visiting if you get the chance culturally so different to most places😁👍🏻
I was lucky enough to be a Vidal Sassoon hair model! Great for a poor student! And I got this short pixie from who ended up being one of Vidal seasons best. He then went on to do Fashion Week models NYC. But that old school Vidal Sassoon (early 90s I think?) turned out some incredible stylists!!! I still go to one! I knew there was a reason I’ve always loved your vids
GREAT cut. I love this cut and felt the same way about it when I saw the DVD. Demi Moore sported it in the movie Ghost and Chyna Phillips looked cute in it too, on the Wilson Phillips "Hold On" video. I modeled it for a creative hair artist when I was in my eartly twenties. LOL! OOH! it was made popular, too, when Bridget Fonda wore it in Single White Female. GORGEOUS!
Oh that is fantastic Mark really great to hear that you are enjoying the videos as a barber, My early life as a hairdresser was barbering so I have a super soft spot for you guys big up the barber. 💈
@@TheLifeOfHair I was taught traditional barbering but last year I purchased sassoon abc men and by studying it and by being more technical putting in clean sections, cutting using shapes square, triangle, circle etc has actually made me faster as some people say it doesn't but I disagree, love your videos and try to take bits and add it to my skill set thanks 💙
Hi James. I would like to say to you. It is so great video. This is what I am looking for ages.I keep copying you. It helps me a lot. I love Vidal Sassoon technique. And you are great Educator. You are giving more and helping all hairdressers a around the world. That's my opinion. Thank you for sharing. Jamie Melbourne Australia
When cross checking the weight line, curl your fingers under before taking that lip off, it will help blend that line right out. GREAT CUT, I’m gonna try it on myself tomorrow, wish me luck lol
Love this so much! Your vids are my most favourite! Precise, perfect and best descriptions of what happening and why. I do want to do a Sassoon workshop sometime. Keep me posted if you’ll be offering one! I’d be happy to come learn from Canada!
Dear James, love all the vids you show. Thanks for sharing! Is it possible to show the hair cut of the late 70/early 80s? The layers which look like cascades. One runs through with fingers and the ectreme edges of the layers were shown. Sorry for my uneven description. Thanks! 🤷
Beautifully done James! I'm curious if you would share one aspect of what you would like to improve. During you cutting the top I asked myself how much tension, and it was immediately answered. Thank you for the vid.
Heather G thank you Heather, at this point I the Improvements I would like to make are all around, Executing perfect balance, absolute precision no fingermarks and crosschecking all the small stuff but I love have something to improve on. It what keeps me sharp 😁👍🏻
@@TheLifeOfHair Thanks James... It will definitely be perfection by then.😊 I'm wondering if you could do mention of crown shapes, finger position , result , etcetera during one of your videos with shorter hair. Although you might have, I will check them out first.
@@TheLifeOfHair that would be awesome! Actually not a lot of info on that area specifically, what to achieve and why. Certainly growth pattern would have great influence as well. I look forward to it😀
Michael, can you do a video on the different ways of holding your cutting shears? That would be a life saver, thanks for the consideration in advanced and staying tuned to my notifications 🙏😊✂️
Hi I made this video and awhile ago maybe this will serve the purposes that you need let me know if it doesn’t because I do have another video in mind about handling scissors I will probably do that anyway but maybe this will suffice in the meantime. How I Hold My Scissors When I Cut Hair ruclips.net/video/n0MAn1Wv6E8/видео.html
This is a question that I find quite difficult to answer in the comments section I think I’m going to have to make a video about it to fully explain how I decide because it is too long winded to make a comment about so keep your eyes peeled for a forthcoming video about choosing the correct length for the style
Thank you! Talking about less accessible education(not about you). Thank you for your kindness in sharing! 🎉😊
