I built an end table inspired by this project a good 20 years ago. Didn't have a vacuum press, but miraculously the "add a bunch of crap on top" method of veneering has held up very well!

Wonderful to see the old Woodworks episodes again, David! If you still have this table, how is it holding up after all these years? There is always lots of discussion around using yellow glue with veneers. Cheers!

Calling this project elegant is an understatement. True story: I broke out my David Marks tapering jig this morning to finish shaping some much simpler legs for a project. I made it forever ago, and it continues to hang prominently among the jigs in my shop. It works every time. Thanks for making these videos available, David. I appreciate them even more now.

Hey Blaine, thank you very much! That's great to hear that you have saved your tapering jig,I still have mine as well and it still works great!

Great project. One critique. The router table dado cuts were made in the wrong order. You should make the second pass further away from the bit/fence. This prevents trapping the wood between bit and fence. You could see the piece start to run away from David's hand. Even with a feather board this is dangerous. The wood will turn into a missile.

Great catch there Mr Sharper, and yes you are correct.I was working under a lot of pressure then with the Producer pushing me to work faster.I always tell my students to slow down, think about the steps, and work safely. Thanks for your comments!

@DavidJMarks I've unfortunately created the missile myself....some things you never forget
