I have been doing dip powder for a while now.. I would like to shed some light. Suzie obviously started out with acrylic or gel already on her nails. Of course they look so thick! When starting on your natural nails, dip powder (for me) is actually thinner than acrylic. Also to get the cuticle to look thinner, you start your first dip only 3/4 of the way down. Then your 2 & 3 (yes three dips) all the way to the cuticle. You can also shape/file after your activator step is completely dry. For those of you who say "Why not just use polish". Dip gets hard! To the consistency of acrylic. Too time consuming and too many steps?? no way... From start to finish (this includes soak off of previous mani) it takes me 30 min MAX! I'll keep dipping!
Omg I'm so glad I came across your comment girl! I'm a beginner and want to learn how to diy my own natural nails with dipping powder. Can you shed some of that good knowledge on what all I would need from prep to finish please?😊
@@danasm1587 Yes girl!! So, I either use Peppi Gel or Revel nail system which includes 3 steps (polish bottles) plus the dip powder. To prep my nails I buff and swipe with acetone. Doing one hand at a time, I start with the step one polish going about 3/4 of the way down the nail and then dip into the powder. This will keep the nail from being super thick at the bed. You will do this on every nail then gently dust off any excess powder with a brush. I just use a cheap elf blush brush. Then you will repeat the first process but by going all the way down the nail bed being very careful not to touch the cuticle. after I dip I take a toothpick to make a nice smooth round edge right at the cuticle. You will repeat this process again. So step "1" will be done three times. Again be very careful to keep off of the skin because wherever the base touches the powder will stick. Then you will move on to your step 2 bottle. you will paint each nail (and doesn't have to be neat so go crazy) wiping off your brush between each application. You do not want any powder to transfer into this jar. After each nail is painted then you will wait 2 minutes and you can buff. You just want to get the nail smooth and shapely. Apply step 2 again and wait another 2 minutes. Now the last step. Polish each nail with step three twice. Once you make it from Thumb to pinkie you can immediately start your second coat. Be careful to not get this step on any skin! Wait two minutes and you're done!
Not sure how I got here, I'm not really a nail person 🤔... But this was almost theraputical to watch, your voice is also super soothing to the ear! 😅😊😍 Very beautiful colors btw 💅 good for you😉.
I am so glad I came across this video I am always struggling with keeping my nail Polish on my natural nails. I love polishing my nails even though this has a lot of steps it is right up my alley one question though how do you get the color off
Actually same. I'm not into nails at all, and I just watch her videos to calm myself and go to sleep. The way she speaks and her voice is weirdly relaxing to me. Thanks a lot!
Omg so relaxing! You're like the Bob Ross of nails! I typically hate fake nails, but thus is making me understand the art. My second video of yours to watch. I'm engaged. I saw that your video was 25mins long at the end and was shocked. That time just flew by. This is a nice thing to watch before bed. I love how you're honest and real. I love the real time, and your voice and your music. And also the lack of harsh colors. I'm going to keep watching because I feel like it's worth my time.
You're whole persona is so magical... I dont know anything about nail polish except my few trusty colours and can't afford most products you show... But boy do I love watching you...
If your willing to try different brands there are some affordable products at ebay, i shop ebay and wish for most of my supplies much cheaper than the beauty supply store.
Girl! You've GOT TO USE THE ACTIVATOR BEFORE YOU FILE, LOVE! And THEN you're at liberty to file and shape. The dip powder nails will NEVER FULLY DRY without the activator, which is more like a monomer, it sets up the acrylic powder (which is all dip is, finely milled acrylic), but there's what's called "the activator method" in which you use your regular acrylic brush and dip it into activator, then the dip powder and it's just like doing acrylic!:) Also, after you do your base and dip the desired number of times, you use the activator and you will know that the nails are "dry" and ready to file when you tap them with a file or something and hear that clink sound, you can now do your filing, THEN after filing and shaping IT'S VERY IMPORTANT TO APPLY ANOTHER/2nd COAT OF ACTIVATOR to ensure that the activator reaches ALL areas of the dip, including some which might have been exposed due to filing and buffing; THEN (ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT STEP) AFTER ALLOWING THE ACTIVATOR TO SOAK IN (for a few minutes) ***MAKE SURE TO WIPE THE NAILS VERY VERY WELL WITH A LINT-FREE CLOTH TO BOTH RUB IN ANY UNABSORBED ACTIVATOR INTO THE NAILS, AND ALSO BECAUSE YOU DEFINITELY WANT TO WIPE OFF ANY EXCESS ACTIVATOR BEFORE USING TOP COAT, OR IT WILL HARDEN YOUR TOP COAT BRUSH. ***NEXT VERY IMPORTANT TIP: The first layer of top coat, you want to do 2-3 quick swipes trying not to touch the nail as much as possible; this coat will dry sorta matte. After it's dry, you go about your second coat as you normally would, and it will dry shiny! Also you CAN apply dip powder to tips, and you CAN achieve a proper apex and structure with dip powder. See Kiara Sky's RUclips videos on dip powder. They cover ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING from 'What is dip powder?' all the way to 'How to Encapsulate Dried Flowers and Glitter using dip". I know how much you love growing your vast expanse of nail products, techniques, and methods, and I have just KNOW that you will be doing AMAZING THINGS with dip powders in the future. Also, I hope you know that I meant you absolutely NO DISRESPECT IN ANY WAY, I just wanted to share with you some things I have learned that have allowed me to do my own nails at home during quarantine. Right now I've got crystal clear ballerina shaped tips with encapsulated flowers and glitter accent nails, my clear nails look like glass💖 anyways from a huge fan and student of yours, I was just wanting to share some things I've learned that have greatly improved my skills and that might help you get the most/best use out of those gorgeous dip powders! I love you to bits and pieces ❤️
i see a lot of people in the comments saying the dipping system has too many steps/ is too complicated but i'd say some people would enjoy this process and have fun dipping their nails into the colour tubs.
I remember discovering Nail Carer Education years ago and the cinematography has improved so much over the years, it's outstanding, not to mention the nail art in itself
It's on the thicker side because you have acrylic on... My nail tech puts on 3 layers for me and it's as hard as acrylic but still thinner... You can put on extensions and do this. I broke a nail and didn't want to have to cut them all... The tech glued on a tip and applied the powder with no problem...
I did my first set of dip powder and it was super strong I thought. And I also learned that dip powder IS acrylic just finer and without the monomer. And it was super easy to use at home, I did mine with tips.
The thumb and pointer finger are perfect for spring/summer,the middle finger would be beautiful for fall and the glitters would be gorgeous for the holidays like Christmas and New Year's! Good heavens with 60 colors how are you suppose to choose?! Lol the only thing is I loved the wine color when it was first applied but by the end it got a little deep for me. Still was stunning though.
That dark blue tho.... also, the brush on the activator would drive me bonkers!!! Suzie, I’d love to see swatches of all the colors, that yellow and baby blue look sooo pretty!
I just switched to dipping powder after years of liquid gel, and I am impressed! The first appointment was a bit long because the gel had to come off, but the dipping process itself was fairly quick. What I particularly like about the powder vs. the gel is that the powder goes on much thinner than the gel, but it's still very strong & sturdy. After almost 2 weeks of the usual wear & tear my nails are still in great shape, whereas I've chipped both gel and acrylic before. Time will tell, but I'm optimistic!
I’ve been using clear dip powder on my natural nails for 3 months now and I love it. Nails are hard yet very natural looking. I do use gloves when doing dishes or any type of cleaning. I’ve always go to shop but after watching this vid may try to do it for myself. Thank you for educational video.
I love you and your videos so much!! They have helped me in so many ways and now I can properly do a full set of acrylics and I owe it all to you! ♥️♥️♥️
Lots of people in the comments complaining about it being too time consuming/laborious. I work in healthcare and regular nail polish lasts about two hours of one shift. Gels last maybe a couple days before they start peeling off. This is the only thing I can get to last for more than a week!
@@melissadejong6061 I'm pretty sure they know that it's dipping powder, actually. They were literally saying how this is BETTER than gel polish, not that it IS gel polish lol
she's obviously taking her time to show every step in detail. i can do a full set, including prep, in half an hour. when i started, it took me longer, but now i've got it all down to a fine art and takes much less time!
Wendy Walters I got dip polish a couple of weeks ago and it's actually a very quick process. I was shocked to see how fast the entire thing was from start to finish what I wasn't happy with was the fact that two days later they started chipping and whoever did mine decided to drill my nail beds to crap and my nails underneath are very damaged. I had gone in asking for gel polish only because my nails have finally grown with a decent length and I was happy and wanted them to stay at that length and wanted something to strengthen them of course I couldn't understand them and the person said oh do this it's $5 more and it's so much better for your nails so I reluctantly agreed. NEVER again! Not only did it turn out to be $45 for dip polish that I didn't want, I went in just wanting a $20 polish on my nail and walked out spending 50 because I'm an idiot and gave the person a tip which I never should have done. 😭
GREAT video!!!! You're like a little school teacher! I've been watching dipping videos for 3 days and this is, by far, the best video I've seen! Thank you!!!
I think there are a lot of misconceptions about dipping powder. 1 dipping powder is fine acrylic powder therefore using this with acrylic nails isn't necessary and makes the nail too thick. 2 to get a nail extension using dipping powder just add a tip first then dip. 3 this can be used on natural nails to add strength. 4 all these steps aren't necessary just clean the nail with acetone or alcohol, brush the glue on and dip the nail, repeats steps for thickness, file, then brush on glue to encase the acrylic and top coat it
Thank you so much shade Faye for that information because the way she was doing it was way too complicated and confusing for me. Can you please tell me where I can get these products from in order to try them on my own nails. Thanking you in advance.
I love dipping powders! And I agree--it's awesome on natural nails, or to use with tips alone, not sculpted acrylic. I love the strength and the colors. In my opinion, and it's far more durable than gel.
Thank you Suzie you are the only one who explained clearly and properly..I watched alot of videos but they never explained the steps properly. God bless you.
Better than horror smell of acrylic. I'm 62. Just can't take overpowered smells anymore. This is the answer. I would open a store. I bet would be a hit.
It seems to be much faster than UV gel. I have natural nails that have never recovered from acrylics, and have to keep gel on them so they don’t break. It takes me about 2 hours to do my UV gel (including nail prep), she did her whole hand in 5 different colors in 20 minutes...I’m sold! A nail tech told me about dipping, they charge $45! I’m definitely looking into this, money and time savings, sold!
I was somehow watching slime review videos ( I don't play with slime, so not sure how I got there either) and found your video. I don't do my nails ( I actually bite my nails), but you're so tranquil. I could watch you forever. I love hope informative you are..
This video was just randomly available on my feed, but so glad I watched it. I wish my teachers in school were like, the way you explain your voice and minute details and time taken was so perfect and calming. I could just hear your explanation without getting bored.
Brilliant video - I’ve been getting some bumps in my powder and using an electric drill to file them and getting more problems so this video has helped a lot ! Plus you’re a really likeable person - could watch your videos all day - thank you xx
Did the activator brush on #3 bother anyone else or am I the only one??? Everything I'd perfect but that freakin brush....lol...BENNY GET HER A NEW #3 PLEASE....LMAO AND PERFECTION!!
Just letting you know there is a brush cleaner this cleaner takes care of everything really well. The dipping is great for people who cannot breath the acrylic Dipping has little to no aroma
You handled it like a boss. So much patience. I couldn't do it. Plus such colours would look ridiculous on me. This is a very fun system. It takes a lot of work, but it does look worth it.
For many people who are new to dip, it is meant to go over natural nails (I always get a long af tip added) so it doesn't get super thick. It is like in place of acrylic.
THANK YOU! The fact that you are an educator and teach nail care for a living you, I feel more confident doing this myself. Now I finally feel like I can do my own nails! Do get me wrong I like to get them done, but I feel like this will help me save money.
Omg! This video saved my life. Thank you for breaking things down for beginners, I looked at other videos and I couldn’t follow. I should’ve payed attention more when I was getting my nails done because now I have to do them myself and I’m clueless but this video really helps! Thanks so much
Such a super soothing and lovely voice-and an overall adorable pretty lady. Great tutorial and very easy to follow. She makes a great spokes person for this company.
Love the thumb colour and pointer finger too. I have to agree with you Suzie, I'm not keen on dipping system either, it definitely leaves the nails looking more bulky. Plus it's too fussy with all those steps. Thank you for showing us though. You did a wonderful job. 💅🏼
I def am going to try this dip powder system. I love the dip powder, which is what I’ve been doing to my nails for over a month, now. Just as hard as acrylic & NO smell. I love it! Save some money & do your own nails! My natural nails are brittle & they’re growing and look really great. I type every day at work, & I’m very happy with dipping.
I used this system with glue when i did my nails before going to school. It worked out great and lasted, but then I became allergic to the glue. Love the system, and it's strong.
Let me clarify. I didn't know how to do nails, or anything about them, I was just looking for something that would help my weak nails. For some reason, I slowly graduated into the powder but didn't know anything much about sanitation or preping the nail. So I finally got to the point I borrowed the money to go to school and learned to do things the right way.
Hi Suzie! I LOVE your nail art and your nails and I know I am not the only one who has ever told you this but I am a Nail Biter and I hate it! But since watching your videos you have inspired me to stop biting and grow them out! They are growing quite fast and I am sooo proud of myself because I don't feel the need to bite them anymore! I feel like I am another Grant (By the way I love what you do with his nails too) Anyways I just wanted to tell you and say how much I LOVE YOU AND YOUR VIDEOS! Yours sincerely, Maisie Xxx
These videos have to be the most educational and easiest to follow and understand... As a nail enthusiat who does this for fun it's so nice to watch videos I'm not paying a ridiculous amount for just so I can save money by not going to the salon... And at the same time, inspirational to get me to get my license
Thank u so much, u rock ! . sue I tend to over do bling, All the time. Can u show how to properly bling a nail with it making my art looking over stuffed?
I thoroughly enjoyed this video & each time I do my dipping, I'm getting better and better. Just ordered for products using your discount code. Thank you, Suzie!
I do dipnails since 2012. It's big here in Quebec. You do not have the proper technique that's why you kinda have trouble doing this. You can put tips under, then shape and file the nails. Put the bond. First coat of base+clear powder. Base +color and repeat. Always encapsulate the color with clear. If you do not encapsulate you will sometimes see where you filed and buffed. Then put seal on and let dry. File like you would do with acrylic, i do mine with a handfile. After another layer of seal + wipe it with a nolint wipe. And you can finish with the top or a gel topcoat! Hope this can help people ♡
Gabriielle Beauty 🙏🏼 thank you. Bugs me when people do a review an they don’t know how to make properly use the product. I did it the same way you do an always have a great set in the end.
Valentina Orr. Im not a nail tech. But do get dipped... they do not refill ... they redo every time... so that unlike acrylics.... there’s no buffing and filling and damage to your nail.... (those half moon lines you get) ...no nail thinning etc. ... healthier for the nail.... it grows in healthy to where you won’t need a tip.... and they are strong and hard and last... this dipping option.... when done properly.... the point is for it to look seamless.... and they look super natural.... because you can keep them pretty thin.... hers look thick in this video because she has on acrylic set... my nail tech.... only puts a tip and the powder is the substitute for the acrylic powder... hers are way to thick... not natural looking at all.... I’m no expert.... just have watched and asked my nail tech about the process... once you get the hang of it... the seps are quick.... and removal is about 5 maybe 8 minutes.... and the colors are rich.... and some can look as natural as your own nail bed... (which is awesome, because if I’m home and want a quick natural look I can polish a white tip, and re-Matt top coat). (Oh and the white tip I paint comes off easily with regular nail polish remover, with no damage to the work done by my nail tech, just a fresh top coat is needed) many like shiny.... depending on the color.... ( since it can change when clear top shine is on) ... I like them Matt.... like I said I’m no professional.... hope this helps
Gabriielle Beauty this helped SO much thank you! As for the top coat (2 layers right?), what if I don’t have any more left... can I buy something else separately to substitute?
OMG, your voice is wonderful ! So calmy, so gentle . I mean, I have ugly nail and I never ever put nail polish on it, but it's so much pleasure watching you !
What gorgeous colors!!! I've been doing the ASP dipping system (from Sally's) for about 6 months on my natural nails. Breaks are pretty rare, so I have been able to grow them out and also not bite them, so it's helped curb that nasty habit. I think dipping systems are great to add strength to natural nails. For me, because this creates bulk, I'm not sure it's ideal over an acrylic or gel nail. The final product here looks bulky, which is understandable since you're adding all these layers over the bulk already there from the acrylic nail. Over natural nails this would look a lot flatter, which personally I'd prefer. Or... over natural nails with a plastic tip, like on the Kiara Sky videos. I think gel or regular nail polish is better for a full acrylic or gel nail. Personal opinion. :-)
I found this video to be very well put together and aesthetically pleasing. Your voice was very fun, professional, and soothing. Thank you for the demonstration! I've wondered about dipped nails and may try them one day! I love how strong the nails look and how vibrant the colors are!
Hi there! My natural nails are very flat and thin with very small nail beds. I have found that using tips followed by clear dip powder and building an apex (not that easy and took me a while to work out how on my particular nails) with the clear is so good for me. I then paint them with regular or gel polish. It's a system that works really brilliantly for me as, even if I could do acrylic or gel, which I can't, I don't think there's a chance I could do my dominant hand! Anyway, just thought I'd let you know.
I recently Googled acrylic vs. gel vs. dip and in my research I discovered that dip would be best for my lifestyle. I keep my nails short and squared because I'm always doing something with my hands that often cause my nails to snag or break, plus chipping nail polish. This video showed me the time and work this d.i.y. project involves. It isn't any more time consuming than when I do my own file and polish job myself which is quite frequent. I'm definitely going to try this dip procedure. Thanks very much for this amazingly informative video! P.S. I'm now one of your subscribers!✨
10 layers.... and time consuming... I just do not see this as a viable, long lasting trend as it also poses many problems for sanitation if you use it in a salon....
aleksandra83mercury, yes. i’ve had acrylic and dipped nails. in my opinion acrylic is stronger but definitely requires more skill with sculpting. dipped nails are better for someone who has natural nails and doesn’t want to extend them. you can have long natural nails and dip looks nice.
lol oh lord yeeees!!! for an expensive and higher up product i was surprised to see the brush so messed up.... as the rest of you, i wondered if anyone was gonna say something about it too haha!
So many layers your nails started to look like Bubble Nails! Perhaps it would look better on a thinner acrylic layer to compensate for the number of layers with the dipping system. Too long a process me thinks. But those colours are stunning! A lovely video as always Suzie!
@@helenhenwood3377 use the buffer after you get the powder on to shape the nail and thin the layer. If you have one of those hand drills that works too to thin the layer before putting on the top coat
Helen Henwood you fix it by filing it down with a drill. I’ve always had it done that way and it always just looks like my natural nail and not like I’ve done powder on it.
These nails are So strong and your natural nails grow really long underneath after a couple of visits you don't need tips ..I'm really rough on my nails and they last at least three weeks for me,I only get them redone because they are too long.
Sarah Boktor you can either soak them in acetone or what i do is dip a cotton ball in acetone, put it on my finger, and wrap it in aluminum foil! wait 20 minutes and it comes right off!
Do you think you could do more dipping vids because I personally love dip and would like to know how to remove it properly at home and to make sure I go to a good salon
I LOVE dipping too! And yes not enough videos... to remove it I get a bowl with hot water and put a ziplock bag with acetone inside I also add a little bit off cotton, remove the top coat and in 5-10 minutes the whole thing is gone! I guess that hot acetone works better🤷🏻♀️
Lalalalalove my dip nails .... first time Ive ever had long nails ... love how it just slips off on removal (if you leave remover on long enough) been thinking about buying my own kit....this one appears a bit more than the Kiara brand .....my salon uses the elec file a lot to deal with the thickness.... great for travel! XO, Kelly
Bucket List Retreats try revel nails brand! I use their products and love it. Also for a starter kit you can try serendipity, they sell at Walmart for 20 bucks and it’s great! It gets you the 3 bottles, and 3 dip powders so you can actually try and see if you like doing dip on your own!
Thank you Hayley Marie you have definitely made my day you made it so simple to go and pick it up something that's not told to you while watching this whole video you're great!
Draner Reid awe you’re welcome thank you!!!! Keep me updated on how you like it! Also if you need tips/tricks let me know and I can add you to a Facebook group with such wonderful helpful ladies!!!!
wow I love the way how she shows step by step, it is really detail. Joya Mia is a good product, I used this product In my shop. and This video will help for those of you who love to do dip nails with tips. Thank you so much for sharing:)
Suzie, I’m not sure if it’s the system you’re using or what, but you CAN use dip powder with artificial nail extensions. You do not need to already have an acrylic or gel base. Activator is NOT a sealant. The activator is what causes a chemical reaction with the base coat curing the dip. The top coat is the sealant. Immediately applying top coat after activator will cause your top coat to cure and harden in the bottle. Like I said, it may be this specific system you’re using that is different but EVERY other system I’ve used has the guidelines I’ve listed... 🤷🏻♀️
I LOVE nail dip kits- i own two- and they are amazing, way less time consuming then going to the nail salon, i apply it to my natural nail- it was a learning curve to get them the way i like them specially around the cuticle but now i cnt wait to do them
How, why and when did you get into nails? It must of been your calling. You do such an excellent job, inspiring I go to the shop and get mine done. You make me want to learn and do mine and my daughter's at home
HOW? I answered an ad for nail tech ( had no idea what that meant) this was 1985 - no one knew what that meant lol - WHY? Cause i was so bored in retail and needed a more creative job ( 9-5 was killing me)
Nail Career Education I can relate I was in retail for years before I switched and now I'm looking to switch again to something I'm more passionate about that will allow me to use my creativity in some way. Thank you so much for your reply this will make my daughter's day. Your voice is so calming sometime we just binge watch your videos back to back.
Nail Career Education My Sister did the same thing and just like you , she was one of the first to do Acrylic nails , she and I are 11 yrs apart , she worked for a few different salons , and opened up her own nail salon when she was going to nail school , I was in Highschool and they had a VOC school program ( I knew that I wanted to be in the industry in 9th grade) So in my 10th grade I started Cosmetology school , my sister and I worked together for many years and I wouldn't change it for anything!! There is nothing better than to be in a creative job! Thank you for sharing your creativity and passion for the Nail industry!! I love all of your videos 😍❣️❤️
A Company called "Avon" had come out with Nail Glitter a few years ago and there were only two finishes for them "Iridescent" & "Brilliant Chrome". They were also a one-nail-at-a-time dipping system. I have both of them and they are so pretty when covered with a Glossy Top Coat
The first time my RUclips notifications have actually worked 😭❤️ I’ve been considering getting dip nails because i keep peeling off regular polish! Any tips from anyone?
Rebecca Elizabeth yeah they do last when gel polish won't stay.. I have 2 rather odd nails that hard gels nor gel polish will stick too but my Modelones dip powders last about a week even when I use then as tools.. The system I have only has 4 bottles, 3 for application,( one being a top coat too.. ) and a brush cleaner, and u apply to entire nail not nearly this many steps it's why I was scared of them before!! So many steps!! I have 2 videos on my channel about the system if you want to check it out. If gels won't stay on these do!! I don't use clear under as their colors don't bleed thru like this pro set seems to.. I explain it all in my past video on it. I hate to spam Suzie channel. To remove u file surface and soak like gel polish..but they r super hard in comparison to gel polish! ! But you could add tips and dip powder to make easy extensions too. But I did grow it severe damaged nails using the dip powders and kept my half peeled off nail beds protected!! (It was after a pro applied hard gel to them it peeled off and nope not using as tools then!!) My Dr thinks it's genetic as several ladies on one side of my family have the same thing lol! ! Modelones is a brand anyone can buy I'll be doing a giveaway soon too!! Just come by my channel for info I'll try to help u out
I have my nails dipped regularly. I can no longer use acrylics due to a primer allergy and began to experience the same allergy with gel. I have had no allergic reaction to the dip process. I absolutely love my dipped nails. I am always complimented on them.
IGNORE THE COMMENT ABOUT "SIMPLY NAILOGICAL!" She should NOT do anything like Kristine. Apples/oranges. No shade, I promise because I watch Kristine (sp?) as well! But on this channel, I look for the foundation or fundamentals of the techniques she is educating. Again, no shade just lets keep them separate.
After getting gel/shellac polish on my nails for over 5 years, I switched to dip and was SHOCKED. My nails last for over a month, they never break, they stay shiny, and never chip. It's double the price of shellac at my salon but sooooo worth it. Dip for life!
Lauren Ortego i must sound stupid but, how do you remove this stuff?
What's your favorite brands for dip?
Do you have a video showing "From start to finish (this includes soak off of previous mani) it takes me 30 min MAX"?
Not sure how I got here, I'm not really a nail person 🤔... But this was almost theraputical to watch, your voice is also super soothing to the ear! 😅😊😍 Very beautiful colors btw 💅 good for you😉.
Awww... thanks 😘
Same 😍
Same same same. I'm so full of anxiety that never let's up. I have no idea how I came to this video either but I got the same effect. Relaxed! ♡♡
This is really good for trying to grow your own nails. The over lay keeps them protected and they don't break.
I was thinking the Bob Ross thing as well I just subscribed🤗
Can you dry under UV lamp
Bob Ross of nails……perfect😊
I agree, I hate fake nails but LOVE watching her artistry!
You're whole persona is so magical... I dont know anything about nail polish except my few trusty colours and can't afford most products you show... But boy do I love watching you...

I am a nail artist because of you, thank you for all your inspiration and lessons x
Thanks! Great info! I just did my first dip mani today and wish I had seen your post earlier:)
i see a lot of people in the comments saying the dipping system has too many steps/ is too complicated but i'd say some people would enjoy this process and have fun dipping their nails into the colour tubs.
Also this is something that people can do on their own at home and not have to go to a salon for.
Nails should ALWAYS be fun and therapeutic. I do agree there a lot steps, but that's half the fun. As techs we get to zone out and just create.
I remember discovering Nail Carer Education years ago and the cinematography has improved so much over the years, it's outstanding, not to mention the nail art in itself
Emily Alcantara just the filming of it you mean?
It's on the thicker side because you have acrylic on... My nail tech puts on 3 layers for me and it's as hard as acrylic but still thinner...
You can put on extensions and do this. I broke a nail and didn't want to have to cut them all... The tech glued on a tip and applied the powder with no problem...
And shes going over old product.
Exactlyyy
That’s exactly why I want to start dipping. I want to skip the acrylic altogether and just do tips and dip. Lol
It is not as strong as acrylic! I had the same thought and I am very disappointed. Buyer beware
Still was stunning though.
with the sound and the lights in the back , it's like watching a fairy work
I know right? I never wear acrylic or get my nails done but this video was informative and fun to watch. Very therapeutic.
Diego Vilas Boas yassss
I wish I had the time!
🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Fairy Mary from Tinkerbell!!!
I've binge watched your videos. Your voice is so soothing and your videos are easy to understand. Thank you for sharing!
That dark blue tho.... also, the brush on the activator would drive me bonkers!!! Suzie, I’d love to see swatches of all the colors, that yellow and baby blue look sooo pretty!
Elisabeth Blackwood omg I thought i was the only one! That brush looked cheap-ish or a manufacturing glitch of sorts.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who noticed the brush lol
Same!! The brush was driving me crazy 😩
That brush in the activator has to go!!!
The brush killed me inside
I just switched to dipping powder after years of liquid gel, and I am impressed! The first appointment was a bit long because the gel had to come off, but the dipping process itself was fairly quick. What I particularly like about the powder vs. the gel is that the powder goes on much thinner than the gel, but it's still very strong & sturdy. After almost 2 weeks of the usual wear & tear my nails are still in great shape, whereas I've chipped both gel and acrylic before. Time will tell, but I'm optimistic!
Is it on your natural nails, that it is lasting 2 weeks?
Stefanie Medina Yes
What brand are you using? I want to get started, but I'm researching which line to buy
Elizabex I go 4 weeks before removing and getting a new set. My tech uses SNS and ANC
Elizabex I think my tech uses SNS, but I'm not 100% certain. I'll check when I go for my next mani!
I’ve been using clear dip powder on my natural nails for 3 months now and I love it. Nails are hard yet very natural looking. I do use gloves when doing dishes or any type of cleaning. I’ve always go to shop but after watching this vid may try to do it for myself. Thank you for educational video.
Clear dipping powder that sounds awesome!
I have to let my natural nails grow same such a hard habit to break cause that sounds great...clear,love it..they must look really healthy
I love you and your videos so much!! They have helped me in so many ways and now I can properly do a full set of acrylics and I owe it all to you! ♥️♥️♥️
When you're stressed tf out arguing with a hard headed person.... I come here for the free therapy and nail education value. Thank you Suzie!
Lots of people in the comments complaining about it being too time consuming/laborious. I work in healthcare and regular nail polish lasts about two hours of one shift. Gels last maybe a couple days before they start peeling off. This is the only thing I can get to last for more than a week!
This is not gel polish 🤣..
Its dipping powder not a reagulair gel polish..
@@melissadejong6061 I'm pretty sure they know that it's dipping powder, actually. They were literally saying how this is BETTER than gel polish, not that it IS gel polish lol
@@StephyDee oepsie sorry !! 😳😳
@@melissadejong6061 no worries, it's all good ^^

HIGHLIGHTER MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE EXCEPT HE'S YELLOW
I was getting mardi gras vibes from the other colors... so no, you weren't the only one ;)
Nahh me to
Looks like a time consuming process, but it's beautiful work as always Suzie thank you for showing them
she's obviously taking her time to show every step in detail. i can do a full set, including prep, in half an hour. when i started, it took me longer, but now i've got it all down to a fine art and takes much less time!
I get these instead of acrylic and it's so much quicker!
It’s cooler 😇😇😇🤗🤗🤗
Wendy Walters I’m sorry but I did not like this at all! They look bulky and distorted and so time consuming!!
4 all these steps aren't necessary just clean the nail with acetone or alcohol, brush the glue on and dip the nail, repeats steps for thickness, file, then brush on glue to encase the acrylic and top coat it
If one gets a colored powder do they remove the entire nail and redo it or is it a completely different process?
Thank you so much shade Faye for that information because the way she was doing it was way too complicated and confusing for me. Can you please tell me where I can get these products from in order to try them on my own nails. Thanking you in advance.
Draner Reid thank you so much
I love dipping powders! And I agree--it's awesome on natural nails, or to use with tips alone, not sculpted acrylic. I love the strength and the colors. In my opinion, and it's far more durable than gel.
...and I always use an e-file. :)
You inspired me to be a nail artist and I’ve come so far thanks to you suzie x❤️
Karla Nolan123 do you watch Kirsty Meakin from Naio Nails? She’s one hell of a talented artist & nail tech.
Thank you Suzie you are the only one who explained clearly and properly..I watched alot of videos but they never explained the steps properly. God bless you.
Wow very vivid colors, but its a lot of work!
This requires too much patience 😅
Better than horror smell of acrylic. I'm 62. Just can't take overpowered smells anymore. This is the answer. I would open a store. I bet would be a hit.
Dip powder can be a lot of work i got the kiss set from walmart its six steps and very simple
I’m definitely looking into this, money and time savings, sold!
lmao it looks so fun, I'm totally gonna do these on my day off 🥰
I was somehow watching slime review videos ( I don't play with slime, so not sure how I got there either) and found your video.
Thank you - i have lots of them 😁

Just letting you know there is a brush cleaner this cleaner takes care of everything really well. The dipping is great for people who cannot breath the acrylic Dipping has little to no aroma

You handled it like a boss. So much patience. I couldn't do it. Plus such colours would look ridiculous on me. This is a very fun system. It takes a lot of work, but it does look worth it.
Adore this! I've been doing my own nails since I was a kid and I love learning and adding new techniques to my roster.
For many people who are new to dip, it is meant to go over natural nails (I always get a long af tip added) so it doesn't get super thick. It is like in place of acrylic.
@Elizabeth Frantes dip powders are acrylic.
THANK YOU! The fact that you are an educator and teach nail care for a living you, I feel more confident doing this myself. Now I finally feel like I can do my own nails! Do get me wrong I like to get them done, but I feel like this will help me save money.
I absolutely love her videos. She takes her time and explains everything so well.
Dipping systems are awesome for people with allergies to acrylic and gel nails! I'm a fan! 😍 thanks for this video, Suzie 💖
That is exactly my reason. I finally found a system that last and does not cause my fingers to turn red and funky looking.
I do lash extensions and many people develop an allergy to the glue we use which is the same glue in this system.
Davina's Nails & Stuff isn't the dip just powdered acrylic??
Dipping powder IS acrylic. So what are you even talking about acrylic allergies for.
You're so softly spoken and your videos are very relaxing and easy to watch 😊
You should try only going 3/4 of the way for the first dip of color so that it's not too thick near the cuticle
Really cool system. I love the color! So vibrant 😍
LongHairPrettyNails I love your channel!
Omg! This video saved my life. Thank you for breaking things down for beginners, I looked at other videos and I couldn’t follow. I should’ve payed attention more when I was getting my nails done because now I have to do them myself and I’m clueless but this video really helps! Thanks so much
I truly feel how you feeling she is a delightful person to watch and step by step plus great tips.
Donna Arnold
Would be less bulky with out the acrylic
I def am going to try this dip powder system. I love the dip powder, which is what I’ve been doing to my nails for over a month, now. Just as hard as acrylic & NO smell. I love it! Save some money & do your own nails! My natural nails are brittle & they’re growing and look really great. I type every day at work, & I’m very happy with dipping.
I use the dipping system with tips on myself and it is very strong. No acrylic. Love it
Dip powders are acrylic, just more finally milled and different application method.
Holly Booker I’m not saying is not but I’m allergic to acrylic and not to dipping 🤷🏻♀️
@@yaima0901 you’re probably allergic to the monomer then bc that’s one of the only differences between acrylic and dip
I agree with so many other comments; your video is very calming and you make this look so easy,. The colors are gorgeous
Such a perfectionist 😊you must drive yourself crazy at times 🤩
I do dipnails since 2012. It's big here in Quebec. You do not have the proper technique that's why you kinda have trouble doing this.
You can put tips under, then shape and file the nails. Put the bond. First coat of base+clear powder. Base +color and repeat. Always encapsulate the color with clear. If you do not encapsulate you will sometimes see where you filed and buffed. Then put seal on and let dry. File like you would do with acrylic, i do mine with a handfile. After another layer of seal + wipe it with a nolint wipe. And you can finish with the top or a gel topcoat! Hope this can help people ♡
Gabriielle Beauty
🙏🏼 thank you.
Bugs me when people do a review an they don’t know how to make properly use the product.
I did it the same way you do an always have a great set in the end.
Gabriielle Beauty what about refills do you dip straight into color or do u do a layer of natural first? Help please
As for the top coat (2 layers right?), what if I don’t have any more left... can I buy something else separately to substitute?
why ... do you ... type ... like this ... ? hope this helps
your VOICE and Videos are so therapeutic. such a soothing voice makes it so it to learn the technique
Really wanted her to do the light blue 💎💎💎💎💎
I wnted the dark green. haha
I was curious....Do you redo your nails after every video so they match or do you keep the mismatched nails until the next video
I was wondering the exact same thing.
I think she usually has different nails on each hand honestly.
The reddish wine color is my favorite😍💕
Kassie B I know!!!! I need to know what that wine color is!!!!
I love watching your videos because they’re so therapeutic. So calming and interesting. Great content!
I love the colours, but at the end the nails looked too thick.
That's because she already has an extension on. On natural nails it's about as thick as acrylic
10 layers.... and time consuming... I just do not see this as a viable, long lasting trend as it also poses many problems for sanitation if you use it in a salon....
Lori Favata agreed!
TheNormalOddball So, it's safe to say that this system works best for natural nails?
aleksandra83mercury, yes. i’ve had acrylic and dipped nails. in my opinion acrylic is stronger but definitely requires more skill with sculpting. dipped nails are better for someone who has natural nails and doesn’t want to extend them. you can have long natural nails and dip looks nice.
Did nobody else get anxiety when they saw the Activator brush 😰😰

I like the wine coloured one the most.
She has such an professional set up and her voice is so soothing I don't really watch that type of videos but I'll definitely watch more of hers
So many layers your nails started to look like Bubble Nails! Perhaps it would look better on a thinner acrylic layer to compensate for the number of layers with the dipping system. Too long a process me thinks. But those colours are stunning! A lovely video as always Suzie!
You have to consider this was on an existing set . I don’t think it’ll look that bulky with a fresh set . I love the colors though !
It looks bulky like that in my natural nails, so it’s not just because her acrylics. I wish I knew how to fix this.
@@helenhenwood3377if you dip 1/2 the nail, then 3/4, then one or two full dips, your nail will look way less bulky. It makes a huge difference.

Do you think you could do more dipping vids because I personally love dip and would like to know how to remove it properly at home and to make sure I go to a good salon
I would assume that you file off the top coat and then soak them off
I LOVE dipping too! And yes not enough videos... to remove it I get a bowl with hot water and put a ziplock bag with acetone inside I also add a little bit off cotton, remove the top coat and in 5-10 minutes the whole thing is gone! I guess that hot acetone works better🤷🏻♀️

So can I still use dip powder on acrylic nails?
She says you cant usd acrylic nails.. Yet tht is what she uses
@@domlee5461 I could have swore I saw a newly done fill in on her nails.
@@domlee5461 No she said you could not use the colored dipping powder or should not use the dipping powder to build-up acrylic nails.
heartbroken lover_0001 pretty sure she meant not to put color powder directly on natural nails because it can stain.
I LOVE nail dip kits- i own two- and they are amazing, way less time consuming then going to the nail salon, i apply it to my natural nail- it was a learning curve to get them the way i like them specially around the cuticle but now i cnt wait to do them
kitty 724 how do you remove them at home ?
I wish you would have showed this on natural nails.
I bet it's hard for her to get down to natural nails considering how much she does to hers
Seriously, who wants to walk around with dragon nails? It's laughable.
DoesMyHeavenBurnLikeHellOnYou i do
How, why and when did you get into nails? It must of been your calling. You do such an excellent job, inspiring I go to the shop and get mine done. You make me want to learn and do mine and my daughter's at home
HOW? I answered an ad for nail tech ( had no idea what that meant) this was 1985 - no one knew what that meant lol -
WHY? Cause i was so bored in retail and needed a more creative job ( 9-5 was killing me)
Nail Career Education OMG YOU WROTE ME BACK IM SO STOKED!! OK LET ME CALM DOWN AND READ YOUR REPLY!!! 😂😂😂😂
I love watching the nail technician i go to, its why i am here and for some reason her voice is very calming

Jenna La Torella.
It's worth it
You know you’re still early when you can read all the comments 😁
Thats funny🤣
A Company called "Avon" had come out with Nail Glitter a few years ago and there were only two finishes for them "Iridescent" & "Brilliant Chrome". They were also a one-nail-at-a-time dipping system. I have both of them and they are so pretty when covered with a Glossy Top Coat
Suzzie is a master teacher i learn alot from your video your very inspiring and very professional on her work love frm Philippines
The first time my RUclips notifications have actually worked 😭❤️
I’ve been considering getting dip nails because i keep peeling off regular polish! Any tips from anyone?
Only thing with dip it requires alot of effort to remove
I use a gel top coat iver regular polish its been helping me but the nail polish have to be dry
Just come by my channel for info I'll try to help u out
I noticed how Suzie said that they can get thicker when layered... she should do a Simply Nailogical-esque "powder mountain" lmaooo
celerysoup I need to like this comment more
I have my nails dipped regularly. I can no longer use acrylics due to a primer allergy and began to experience the same allergy with gel. I have had no allergic reaction to the dip process. I absolutely love my dipped nails. I am always complimented on them.
Also, my nail tech does a bit of shaping after the nails are dipped. The final result on mine does not look as thick. I do love the colors you used.
IGNORE THE COMMENT ABOUT
"SIMPLY NAILOGICAL!"
She should NOT do anything like Kristine. Apples/oranges. No shade, I promise because I watch Kristine (sp?) as well! But on this channel, I look for the foundation or fundamentals of the techniques she is educating. Again, no shade just lets keep them separate.
do you know simply nailogical?
I can literally listen to you talk all day! Can’t wait to watch the rest of your videos. Learning so much. 😊
Could you do a video using these with monomer? Gorgeous set.... Love watching!!!
Im just discussing with manufactures if they recommend that and if so which liquid? Im researching before i do a video👍🏼😀
“When I talked to Ben...”
*Simply Nailogical has left the chat*
😂😂HILARIOUS!!!
🤣🤣🤣
After getting gel/shellac polish on my nails for over 5 years, I switched to dip and was SHOCKED. My nails last for over a month, they never break, they stay shiny, and never chip. It's double the price of shellac at my salon but sooooo worth it. Dip for life!
The other great thing about dip is it’s easy to remove.
Thanks for doing Joya Mia dipping powders.....
Those colors are sooooo damn gorgeous!!!!
😍😍😍😍😘
