Marc Martel (ruclips.net/user/cramletram) is a very cool Canadian dude, now living in Nashville. He and college friend Jason Germain started Downhere in 1999 and they toured through 2013. Marc auditioned for the Queen Extravaganza tribute band set up by Roger Taylor in 2011, and he's been doing a lot of Queen tribute tours since. His solo album rocks too! They used his voice in the freddie Mercury film to overlay original recordings of the songs, definitely worth watching more of his queen covers. Killer queen is 👌🏼

He formed a christian music band called Downhere and played with them for about 12 years til people started saying how much he sounds like Freddie, so he started listening to him, was chosen to front a Queen tribute group called the Ultimate Queen Celebration. He also did most of the vocals in the movie Bohemian Rhapsody. His one take Bo Rhap is amazing...just him and a piano.
Before Marc was in the Ultimate Queen Celebration, Roger Taylor hand-picked him from an online audition to front Queen’s official tribute band called Queen Extravaganza. (Roger didn’t like to call it a “tribute band”, but it didn’t fit any other category.) This was not a band of impersonators, trying to be Queen. Roger just wanted their band to be represented better than what he was used to seeing. Check out the Queen Extravaganza RUclips channel and there’s also some on Queen Official.
Just search youtube for anything by Marc Martel. You won't be disappointed. He's been doing Queen music for over 10 years, so that is standard with him, but he does lots of other music too and he writes his own.

Marc got the idea for this video one day as he was shaving. 😄 Each part is done in one-take, recorded in one video, except the end for the “duet” part. Back in the 2000s, he took Pavarotti masterclasses online. He is a self-taught singer and guitarist, and started taking piano lessons at six years old.
@@artfulstories In an interview (don't remember which one, it was a french interview) he said that one day his piano teacher or someone like this told him he had a jaw shaped a little like Mercury's and that's why he sounded similar, so he just pushed the impression a little more and now he sounds just like him.
