  • It's all about the straight line! I would implore Marc do some more experiments with Freddies voice. Would be quite cool to hear. Nevertheless, this is Marc Martel with THE MERCUROTTTI! Do enjoy the reaction. Thank you folks.

    It’s astounding to me that Marc can sing like that with no vocal training at all, much less classical vocal training. Thank you for the reaction. I love this performance very much. ❤️

    "Nessun "Dorma" is so emotional piece no matter who sings it anyway, but..I got chills the second Marc started Freddie part. I've heard a lot from Marc and he really does bring Freddie to life, it's almost frightening..

    Just a side note Michel Bolton also actually sang this with the Pavarotti.

    I find it so sad that the Marc Martel haters are so loud and rude on social media that people feel the need to be almost apologetic when they choose to react to one of his videos. Please do jump down his rabbit hole if you are so inclined. There is much more to him than Queen covers. As a lover of lyrics, you might be pleasantly surprised with some of his original work, both solo and with his first band, Downhere (Christian Rock). Either way, thanks for the reaction. It was a pleasant surprise in my notifications after I went down your Queen reactions rabbit hole.

Would have been awesome in this song at least. but Mark seemed to stay in a vocal comfort zone. But nailed it! Anyway ! With both vocals. A very talented artist, and closest I've heard to Freddie thus far. A fantastic and insightful, reaction Hap !! Thank you! 💜💜💜🎶🎵

I really don't get why Marc gets so much unnecessary hate in general he is an amazing singer and should be appreciated by Queen fans. Great Reaction. Brian and roger don't want a sound a like look alike because they're not trying replace Freddie, they just want someone do the music justice, but differently, as no one can replace Freddie, even adam said that himself as well as Roger and Brian, they said, we did this venture as queen for the legacy of the music not to rewrite history but remember. ❤️

    Good one Hap!! Frankly, I was a bit nervous when this first started. I ❤❤ Nessun Dorma and especially performed by Luciano Pavarotti. Marc did very well in blending his Freddie and Luciano voices, although I think he is more comfortable in the tenor range of LP vs countertenor range of Freddie. Overall, 👍🎶. Great way to start off my Tuesday💕. Peace J ✌ ☮ 🎶🎤

    Marc did most of th singing on the movie Bohemian Rhapsody as Freddie,Brian and Rog used him,Rami and Freddie for the songs,sometimes using all 3 of their voices,he has a beautiful voice,like you i dont think he has the power of Freddie,I slightly prefer Adam over Marc as he doesnt try to imitate Freddie,its his own take and Adam has the fun side of Freddie in spades,but both have beautiful voices,I agree he gets bashed a lot he even does tutorials on how to sing like AFreddie Mercury,some of Freddies songs U can close your eyes and he sounds a lot like him,yet there is only one Freddie but kudos to Marc!

      Marc has said that he's tried to sing differently but people will still say that they hear "Freddie" in his voice. I've been following his musical career since Downhere and there are definitely qualities to his voice that are reminiscent of Freddie's even in his original songs.

    • @papabearM3
      @papabearM3 3 года назад +4

      @Deborah Clark
      Deborah, Freddie was a high baritone, NOT a countertenor. Marc is a fantastic rock singer who can sing a pretty convincing bel canto without ANY formal vocal training whatsoever. He does NOT imitate anyone, he emulates a singing style of one or another era/band/singer, albeit all phenomenal singers can do it! David Bowie used to sing like Iggy Pop. Freddie himself loved to pretend he was Jimmy Hendrix or Little Richard. Marc is no exception. He is not imitating anyone, since Freddie never sung ND. He is just imagining what would Freddie do were he to sing this aria.
      And, yes, Martel has written a vast catalogue of amazing songs and received a wealth of awards for his original music. He always sounds like Freddie though. Brian May went on record saying that Marc is very similar to Freddie “in voice AND presence.” So, peruse Marc’s YT channel at leisure and you will find a vast catalogue of music performed to perfection.

      @@deboraclark5791 Freddie's voice is still distinctly Freddie's, yes!
      I'm just saying that Marc has sung many songs without a hint of imitation, and though it sounds distinctly "Marc" to my ears, someone will comment on that recording and say that he sounds similar to Freddie even then.
      For example, Marc's cover of Tom Waits' "Take It With Me": it's a beautiful cover, and showcasing his voice, yet there are _"Freddie?"_ comments even there. I think people must be desperate to hear Freddie's voice again, and catch bits of similarities in Marc's voice.

    Marc Martel is a Freddie 👨🏻 wannabe, just making money because he can sound somewhat like Freddie! Please don’t jump down his rabbit 🐰 hole! Any time I see his name I instantly hide the video and do not listen or watch.This is not too bad but your right even on this song he needs to listen to what Freddie 👨🏻 would have said! Marc Martel is an imitator that is his talent. Your reaction my friend was great as usual even saying that he needed more on his vocals. Love ❤️ you from across the pond! If anything, Marc Martel is a MARC MARTEL “wannabe”, and that is the truth. No matter what he sings, for example - his originals from 1999-2012, people tell him, “I hear and see Freddie!”
      I highly advise going down his rabbit hole. He’s a beautiful and humble soul and a freakingly talented singer. He wrote a tongue-in-cheek album about being a Freddie sound-a-like. It’s called Impersonator.
      I for one look past this detail about him sounding like Freddie and just enjoy who he is, what he sounds like (beeeeeauuuutiful and swoon-worthy!) and this makes my life very rich! I can listen to Freddie AND Marc. And to top it off, the world is BLESSED to have someone performing Queen music at such high skill, befitting the GREAT FREDDIE MERCURY. After all, it was originally composed for Freddie’s voice. PERFECTION.
      Hell-yeah!

      I would suggest checking out his own music, or if you're still adverse to that, his cover of Tom Waits' "Take It With Me". He's not copying Tom or Freddie in this song, and it's not a Queen song or done for any sake of gaining views. I hope that you might hear something more there.
