      Probably it's just because they feared that some kids would assume that irl forgs would eat fireflies and would feed them, so opted for the same irrational logic they use for their add-ons. I mean, I think this is actually good.

      @@nikfiendluvr666 You never know. People now sometimes have spiders, snakes, and other weird stuff. Furthermore it might happen that a child captures a frog for fun (not saying that it's good) and might want to keep it as a pet. Of course things would be different with, for example, a lion or other dangerous big stuff, but otherwise...

    • @andrearomanini7043
      @andrearomanini7043 2 года назад +19

      @@vw_hater This is another thing, and I 100% agree with you. Personally I also find frustrating that they seem to implement good ideas that seem unrelated one with another. For example: with the new cave update and the scope you can craft with the crystals, they could have implemented something like "the scope has continuously active night vision", so that it's an interesting low-budget tool that helps you explorating big dark spaces but can't substitute effectively a serious potion. Or, for example, some form of grappling hook for vertical exploration, also pushing players to taste the verticality of caves and mountains without having to beat the fucking end. This kind of small additions if contextualised would be way more effective and interesting, but they seem not to be convinced of the things they themselves have thought of. I really liked the new "ecosystem" thing that toads have with their reproduction system because it gives depth to the game, without revolting it. It would be interesting to have animals that modify their habitat to their needs, giving the game the feeling of something that works by itself, and doesn't just wait statically for the player to do whatever he/she wants and still not caring about it.

      The colors are green for cold, orange for temperate, and white for tropical frogs, respectively, because, in real life, reptiles rely on the color of their skin to absorb heat. As you may know, darker colors absorb heat better whilst lighter colors reflect heat better. This is why frogs that lives in the tropics are white (too much heat can easily cause a fragile frog to die so being white allows them to reflect said heat), and the frogs that live in colder biomes are darker (frogs need heat because they are cold blooded animals, so having that darker skin allows them to absorb heat more effectively). That is pretty much the gist of it and the idea behind why they chose the, seemingly, weird colors for the frogs. I hope you enjoyed my ted talk

    So if you can’t pick up frogs, how do you get them to the nether to get the different colored blocks?

    In a game where chickens give live birth, apples grow on oak trees, and you can cook stone, but not eggs, I don't think "accuracy" was the deciding factor in not letting the frogs eat fireflies 👍

      Not really since I was able to find a spot in the nether that spawns a lot of them and there isn’t a spawner in sight nearby. I did it the old fashion way and built a bridge to bring my frogs with leashes and a fence to let them stay in one spot so they can get me more frog lights. I got about 320+ lights in under an hour and only brought 3 frogs. You should bring at least 6 frogs to let them eat faster

    I just successfully collected all the types of froglights, I feel bad because I left my frogs in the nether (leashed). I just can't go through the laborious work of bringing them there and then bringing them back. However if I needed more froglights I just go to the base I made where I left them and then let magma cubes chase me to where my frogs are then I'll turn the magma cubes into the smallest size and let my frogs do the rest. Getting Froglights is not that hard, collecting all the types of frogs and bringing them to the nether is time consuming and laborious.

    Oh yes idk if it's true that fireflies are poisonous to Frogs, but Magma Slimes are safe of course the magma definitely wont melt their tiny frog insides no, not at all. :)
