- On November 28, 2016, LaMia Flight 2933, which was carrying the Chapecoense squad crashed on the way to to the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final. Since the tragedy the football world has come together in unprecedented fashion. Again, football has become a metaphor. A few players in the "In Memory" section have not died. They were Jakson Ragnar Follmann (11th down, 1st column) , Helio Hermito Zampier Neto (17th down, 1st column) and Alan Luciano Ruschel (1st player, 1st columm). Still a great video though, Copa. Really pulled on the heart strings.

I remember following leicester city in 2015-2016 after they survived the drop In 2015 to ultimately win the premier league. I remember seeing a tweet from the official account for a soccer club in South America ive never heard of. In their best English they asked to play a friendly againt the English champions.
I didn't know much about this south American team. But six months later the whole world knew their name. Miss you Danilo.

I'm 22 years old and I live in Chapecó. I've been going to the stadium since I was 10 years old. You guys can imagine how hard it's been. But all the support that comes from all over the world has given us, fans, families and friends, the strength to keep going. Thank you all.

IKR, I was just about to say that too. Personally, even though all these players' deaths are sadddening, I took the goalie Danilo's the hardest. He was the hero en route to the final, survived the crash, but died in hospital. #ForçaChape

As a Brazilian I think it is important to be told. Chapecoense united the whole country before the plane crash because as they were the only national team on Copa Sulamericana the whole country was supporting them... and even though I support Atletico Mineiro, I was really looking foward to seing them play the finals. So the point is. It was specially sad because we could feel how happy they were for its special moment. Hope they rise from ashes
