Essential GREAT FLYING SKILLS, even in high wind conditions! I'd like to see you post another video in ideal flying conditions, clear blue sky, no wind. But not impressed with stunts that "REAL" airplanes could NEVER perform.
@@kevintucker3354 yet same size as a kawasaki js550 engine. Which carries a person just fine. A 125 is more than enough to scoot you along at highway speeds even.
Awesome plane! Some of the best RC flying & maneuvers I’ve ever seen!!! First time I ever saw an RC plane fly backwards, and at a few feet above the ground!
Everyone has an opinion . So here is mine . Of all of the RC Aircraft of this scale that i have watched on RUclips . This has to be the Best yet . Both the Pilot and Aircraft are truly amazing . Excellent Post .
It would interesting to have three cameras. One filming the plane, one on the plane, and one filming the radio remote control while it's being manipulated. Then edit it all together.
WOW... a 55% scale 3D-performing 'model'! A gorgeous plane and skilled pilot is such a great combination to watch. Great sounding engine also. OTOH, when the models are that big, they're scary knowing that nothing is perfect and nice soft landings aren't always in the cards. And for a little more money, he could have built a homebuilt and experienced flying for real. Of course, I was flying RC models when I wasn't boring holes in the sky myself, and love both, so I'm not putting down RC flying. Anyway, he should be proud!
I haven’t looked through the comments, so I don’t know if anyone else was waiting for a prop strike like 3-4 times!!! Mercy! The EMT in me was tingling a couple times!
I like the way he made the engine himself etc. That is a mad level of skill, especially for it to be able to do what it can. Insane machine. Loved it :~)
Very nice plane but does that man want to hug the prop? People get overconfident. He is walking to much around the front, like its normal and nothing can happen. But did i already say its a beautifull plane. Thumbs up.
Latvianrcchannel Latvia I personally stay way clear of the props arc or plane of rotation. Found out a long time ago, the more comfortable you are, the more danger you may not notice. Maybe the camera angle makes him seem closer to the prop.
I was waiting for the strap to get caught in the prop myself, also he's looking around and the plane is turning over his shoulder, sooner or later these planes will be the end of modeling when one goes into a crowd and kills about 3 or 4 people.
Amazing! Only one question though! For all the time and money spent on such a project, why not build a full sized one to fly yourself inside? Beautiful workmanship! And amazing capabilities.
Ones about $3000 the other is tens of thousands and requires a ahit ton of government forced taxation and licensing fees. BTW most rc pilots are real pilots. They fly RC as a hobby for fun. Not much if any risk involved
Holy cow! Look at the size of that plane. You could put a small child or adult in that thing and give them the ride of their life. Of course, you would have to hate either choice as a human being. Beautiful plane and excellent pilot, non the less.
Thanks Mark. Expecting to see him fly this again at another big show and get a look around the setup which I will share on this channel. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
That's some fine rudder work... it seemed to just muscle its way through what appeared to be a pretty stiff wind, with enough authority to climb vertical at a moments notice...Thanks for the vid
Good to hear you enjoyed. We're starting our flying season officially tomorrow. Subscribe for more great content coming throughout 2017! Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
A Go Pro view from on board would be great! Good flying. I flew R/C for 7 years back in the 80's. Never had anything larger than a 84 inch wing span though.
Problem is engine vibration. Have tried on other models with big engines and the vibration is so bad you get a very poor picture. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
I'll never understand the mentality of a model airplane this big. Sure, bigger does fly better. But at what point do we say, "Enough is enough."? Think about the hassle of owning and operating this monster. Storage, transport, assembly and disassembly at the field, etc. It's a logistical nightmare. I'll stick to my "normal" sized models, thank you very much. I'm having a ball!
well to get more real experience of flying real plane !!! mass, air density, speed ... it all changes a lot with scale up. actyaly it fly harder ... for smaller lighter plane air feels more dense you can perform a lot of tricks like bug ... for bigger plane air seems thicker harder to keep in sky ... you see how it wobbles when he try slow flying ... with smaller 3d plane you can do easy all kind on weird stuff with bigger one even material strenght goes down you need to bee avare to not brake airframe ...
+Martins Abilevs I've been building and flying R/C aircraft for over 35 years. I don't much care for 3D flying. I prefer to fly like full-size planes. But thanks for your input.
The bigger the plane, the easier they are to control. By far, the easiest plane to fly is the one you are in the pilot's seat. They really are easier to fly. Problem is, YOU are in the plane with quite abit more to lose than an RC plane. What's a thousand or more compared to your LIFE? In RC, you can fly anything. Owning a full size plane depends on how deep your pockets are!
hats off to him, i got out of the game about 5 years ago and threw all my gear, planning on getting back into it but damn its expensive!!!!! looking at buying 2nd hand gear off ebay
Totally different kettle of fish to carry someone. Design to carry that weight and the safety considerations would make it completely different. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
Because you guys, non rc flyers, dont know the thrill of building, flying RC planes. A lot different than flying full scale airplanes. You dont feel the plane like sitting in it. It is a very addictive hobby, let me tell you. 👍🏼👍🏼😎😎😎😎😀
this is probably the same or bigger than the Cri Cri a single passenger kit aircraft that is powered with a twin single cylinder engine or turbine. It's an acrobatic aircraft. there's lots of videos on you tube about this amazing aircraft Liu
Great flying Captain... I would never have the nerve to do that... I'm still learning how to fly those trainers... How long did it take you to get that good...

At this point why not just build a full size plane and pilot it yourself?
This aircraft performed miracles! Thanks for sharing the experience with us!
I can never figure out why people hit dislike on posts like this... Awesome build, looks to fly great.

There is get in it and fly
i always wonder just how much bigger they would need to be to that?
The smallest airplane I've flown is a Cessna 150 and I couldn't imagine being in something smaller lol.
well shouldnt be to much bigger than this one.
Always good to wear a glove when starting. Because that will stop a 550cc engine with huge prop from doing ANY damage!
Lol it will ease the pain
Blackout19 the glove keeps you from having to look for your fingers when the blade chops them off
Geez, that is almost big enough to be piloted by a small child or little person!
beautiful flight & landing - excellent piloting
I've seen some ppl at my local RC field w big airplanes like this. They need a trailer to transport them... Very cool :)
bet his son is wondering where his motocross bike went!
lol no mx bike for any kid would be 550cc XD
HA i bet his son is wondering how to put actual controls inside !

i didn't say "kid" i said son. could be any age.
still tho average motocross bike doesn't pass 400cc even in pros
Kronomoto
there is several 500cc motox bikes. but way to kill a joke buddy
Beautiful plane. Incredible flying.
for a second there i thought he was going to put his head on the prop
Any bigger and he would have to register it with the FAA. Nice.
Everyone has to register their R/C plane with the FAA.
That's BIG!Nice job in rather windy conditions.

MAN THAT WAS AWSOME!!!
Beautiful plane good flying but that a experience Rc pilot is standing in the prop way to put on his gear to attach his tx ?.

Thrust to weight ratio is amazing. If you but a big enough engine on a cement brick, you could do the same, so they say.
