I was always painfully thin my whole life, until I turned 51. Without changing a single thing with my diet or exercise, I gained from 105 to 152 in about 9 months (except I wasn't pregnant lol). It is a hormonal issue FOR SURE. I didn't know how to diet because I'd never had to lose weight so it was really hard. I'm down to about 127 now and it looks fine with clothes but loose and flabby without clothes. I'm working on building muscle now - good luck, I'm cheering you on!

@CHSwildcats19 WoW, that is crazy. I personally would want to go without clothes. I am crazy, but I think I look better in the nudes than with clothes. Most clothes are not meant for curved people. I still think I need to lose about 25 lbs. I am between 175 to 170.
It's so true about not having as many snack options years ago. We definitely didn't have the 100 calorie packs. The ones that you end up eating 5 at a time so it's another meal. LOL. You can definitely derail a diet with those.

Yay! That's great news! Wonderful that you could even see a doctor. I saw my doctor last July and called a couple weeks ago to book my yearly visit. Got an appointment for OCTOBER! Reminder to everyone.......book early!

I took your advice and stopped grazing after my two meals a day. Losing about 0.2 pounds a day. At this rate, I could be at my ideal weight (for my age & height) by the end of 2024. Thank you for sharing your journey, it helped kick-start my own. And congrats on your recent success and establishing healthy habits for a lifetime!

Grazing is hard on your liver unless you only graze on raw vegetables. Think of it, if you eat even a little bit every hour or so, your liver gets revved up to process what you just ate, it barely finishes that processing and you eat another snack it has to rev up again. I am glad for you that you found something simple that works for you.
That makes sense.
And as long as we keep putting food down in our stomachs, our body will run off of that “fuel” versus looking to our stored fat as fuel.

Keep up the good work. I am sure you are inspiring a lot of people. You are inspiring me to stick with the 2 meals per day and not eating at night. I weigh now what I did in Sept. 2019 so the problem is not gaining weight. I just have a difficult time losing it.

Congratulations Dawn on the weight loss. You are so brave to tell us all what your weight is. I know it will help many with their weight issues. My hubs and I are doing the intermittent fasting 16: 8 too. It has really made a difference in our lives too. We have giving up all snacking too. We have saved so much for not doing that. We only eat 2 meals a day and make sure we eat real food and no processed food.

Your plate should be half vegetables, one quarter protein, one quarter healthy carbs. So go get fresh vegetables. You can afford them since you have given up a meal or two a day. And you aren’t spending on junk food. The junk food alone will more than offset some healthy items.
I know you are well meaning but as a person who has struggled with weight my whole life, nothing is more unwelcome than someone telling us what to do. Please don’t tell fat people what to do. I guarantee we know more about any weight loss program than you. BTW, I have lost over 100+ pounds and kept it off over 15 years. Forgive my bluntness, but I am very triggered by your comment.
My eating window is 9:30am to 5:30pm. Two meal and MAYBE a snack. I’m just starting this so I’ll let you know how I’m doing.

Always remember that muscle weighs more than fat so if you are exercising you will gain muscle mass.

The optimums is to eat protein eat fiber and keep hydrated.
Just losing fat doesn’t mean we’re gaining muscle. Fat doesn’t turn into muscle. If she’s lifting some weights and doing squats or anything that puts pressure on those muscles, she’ll start developing some muscle. But just eating less calories and losing weight won’t add muscle

@@CentsibleLivingWithMoneyMom him. He is a gastroenterologist who talks about the role of gut bacteria in weight loss and health. He was overweight at one point and lost a lot of weight by addressing his diet. Not just what he ate but timing. He has a youtube channel Dr Pal.

Congrats MM! I agree about not weighing ourselves all the time. This idea of weighing ourselves daily (!) or even weekly doesnt apply to us women bc our weight fluctuates based on our hormonal cycle.

Congratulations Dawn! It is so freeing to not worry about food at all during the fasting period! I've found it to be the only thing that works for me and I've been on 20/4 and OMAD now for over 4 years! ❤ I read a great book called Delay Don't Deny which helped me do much along with Dr Jason Fungs videos and books. It's a good point that we're all different and what works for one person may not work for another! I'm happy for you!!!!

Only use one scale when weighing yourself. Go by your home scale and not the doctors scale since you probably won’t see doctor every 6-12 months. Congratulations on your success

🎈🎈YYYessss!! 10 Lbs! I kinda messed up last Month- Let's say I found that 10 lbs! for some reason I started buying some crap food (cakes,candies etc) BUT I did get back on track 2 days ago phewww... I dropped 2 of those already.. Your videos are inspiring me.. Dont know you personally but I feel like I have a friend that is taking this journey too THX!
