For those who cant find "Cutter" effect in timeline panel insert - go to node view - in the left corner you will find an icon with three stripes - click on it and this will popup the menu - insert - Cutter If you have problems with connecting nodes with noodles, just connect "Cutter" with composite node, then go to layers near timeline, drag Cutter layer under layer that would be the mask, and that will auto-connect Cutter effect
Have you tried also throwing in a refract to create the illusion of the textures pinching at the edges? I know this is for essentials, but I'd really like to see how you handle taking this and going further with it.
Does the cutter work with areas inside stroke lines? I can't trim lines that go beyond the stroke. For example, make a TV from lines, and inside an image from lines. And that the image was inside the screen. How to do it? Only by hand or is there a way?
I just want a simple mask so I can paint a floor and 2 walls separately in toon boom but all of this is so confusing... I'll paint my backgrounds in fresco or photoshop instead. Easier to learn and better brushes. But it's still frustrating how confusing this is in toon boom.
Maybe it's time I bust out a couple of Flash ones aye. Thanks for you support, means a lot if these are interesting enough to watch even if it isn't a program you're using!

You saved me, thanks!!
i need i video for this, idk how to connect them together
thank you for this
You should also mention that your tip only works for Harmony Premium. Essentials doesnt have Node view.
I am enjoying your comical way of narrating HAHA! Great tutorial!
Tysm this really helped! All your videos are a huge help in getting used to toon boom harmony!
Killing it as always man!
There is no "effects" options when adding a layer, did this get changed?
Mine didn't work :(
Same, I’m struggling to make it work, I have the premium and I just don’t know how to figure it out :(

wait.... I'm using Premium and I don't have "Effects" to insert "Cutter" WTF ?
+Nocki DeRocket you have batter effects! Open the Node Library and the Node View to get to the effects. Way more versatile than the layering method
I also experience the same thing buddy! So annoying
@@OnionSkin make a tutorial in the node view

its so easy, can you making hard animation on toonboom. like tradigital animation on toonboom or anything (frame by frame)
Traditional animation is what Toon Boom was designed for...
+William Gui it's more the time it takes to make a video like that more than anything
Onion Skin yes i know, make a video is not easy. god bless you bro.
Did you know another RUclipsr who use toonboom for the animation?
@@argophontes it's designed for both

I reckon. Things will be in different places but the result should be possible

nice
Why do I watch these, I use flash.
Because you feel it calling you. Beckoning on the horizon with its siren song
I must resist.
In all seriousness though, great tutorials. I love them.

I can't even use bones, it's an old version of flash. Seriously, it asked if it would like to add the flash plugin to Netscape.
