@Charles McDermott. 200 years ago, Saint Laurent Marie Joseph Imbert stepped foot on my country which marked the beginning of Catholic outreach to the nation.
When he arrived on December 11, 1821, he was then a priest from MEP (Société des Missions étrangères de Paris) and played a significant role in bringing Catholicism to my country in the 19th century. Unfortunately he was martyred in Korea subsequently.
Thank you to these missionaries who had risked their lives to plant the seed of faith in other parts of the world.

I'm the son of a priest in an Oreintal Church. Our Church is structured in a way that everyone has close relationships with each other in their respective parishes. As the son of a priest, I was blessed and privileged to be within the love of so many people. A new set of people every 3 years as my father was transferred to a different parish. At the same time I was in a strong mental pressure to follow my father's foot steps. Everyone saw my father in me, everytime someone saw me people used to call me the next priest, Junior Father. They were doing this out of love for my father, but in time I started to hate the priesthood.
Only during my late teens did I start reverting back to the Church. I was still confused as to my calling so I did secular studies in finance and investment. I just turned 25 and now I am clear as to where God wants me to go. I will start my theological studies in 2022 if God wills. I hope I can do my best for Him and the Holy Church.

I can say from experience that giving until you have no choice but to trust God is liberating. Seeing God take my little bit and use it to his own purpose goes a long way to ease the day to day worries about what tomorrow may bring: feast or famine, doesn't matter. I might live to be 100, or I might die tomorrow, either way, I'm ready for what comes my way.

Hello, I don't know you but I felt absolutely compelled to write this reply. What you have gone through has given you strength, insight and faith. I am certain of it because I too have a disability. I've had cerebral palsy all my life because it is a birth defect and it has made me a better person. You are the same woman you were before you had sepsis and a resulting amputation and in some ways, I'm sure you are forever for the better. The stuff you may not be capable of now is incidental in the bigger picture. That's not to say that your limitations aren't a gigantic pain in the butt and super frustrating at times but they are not you. They are not your physical Temple of the Holy Spirit and certainly they are not your mental and spiritual heart that is drawn into a deeper calling and friendship with God. Again, I know of what I speak because I was and am in the same boat (Christ's boat when He gave Peter the faith and ability to trust and walk toward Him despite his doubts, faults and failings).
Even if that's all true and it is, how does someone with a disability practically live an explicit deeper calling of consecrated life? I offer a unique possibility as a longtime associate of The Franciscan Missionaries of Jesus Crucified: Members live as consecrated seculars in the world, sharing and participating as a community, each in his or her own place. What binds us is not common life but shared spirituality lived out by each of us with a personal apostolate that is possible through a Promise of Prayer in addition to the vows. Members don't take solemn vows but simple vows of poverty, chastity and obedience (not to a superior but to God, His church and the Community Rule of Life) that are proclaimed publicly. An associate like me lives the life and is part of the community without taking vows. The community is Franciscan in its spirituality and each one of us lives with Lady Poverty in many forms through our disability(ies) or by acceptance of
other's "differently-able-ness". Like St. Francis, we have a mission to build God's Church. We do it by carrying our cross and helping others carry theirs. That is our charism which can be lived out in many different situations and ways. The FMJC is the only consecrated Community specifically for people with disabilities in the United States, if not in the world. The church needs us and so we are to be a gift to Her. Perhaps like Elijah or perhaps more like the Widow, our gifts seemingly insignificant are offered without reserve for the good of The Universal Church. We are an association of the faithful under the auspices of the Holy See, aspiring to have enough members to be a Secular Institute.
Everything I've written so far is meant to convey our spiritual essence. To more directly address your question as to whether or not you could live the life of a deeper calling with a disability, the answer is unequivocally yes. I offer one supportive example. Many FMJCs are severely disabled and part of our charism is to help each other in very concrete ways. Before she passed away, one of our members with extremely severe cerebral palsy had to be fed and assisted with every life activity, including speaking. Over the years, when we were together on retreat, everybody pitched in and helped Adele to the best of our ability and in turn, we were the recipients of the spiritual joy of her deep prayer. God may call someone despite her handicap but in keeping with His countercultural bent, He often calls a person because of his disability.
This reply is much longer than I intended it to be but I think the Holy Spirit was asking me to share about our little community, called into being because of, with and through our various disabilities. Reply to my reply if you'd like more information please. In the meantime, be blessed and try not to doubt yourself because you are a cherished daughter of God the Father who made you perfectly just the way He wanted to in His image. Disability doesn't change that. In fact, when we least expect it, sometimes it reminds us of it. God loves you just exactly as you are right now in the present moment. Be at peace.

I remember the sitcom "Living Biblically". They had this episode where they built a house but Chip, the lead character, was frustrated because the his co-workers were more concerned about how they would look in the papers and on social media than actually completing the house. So he chastised them about it and they left. The priest and rabbi explained to him about people not being perfect anyway but doing God's work. The rabbi even cited Samson was a womanizer, David was an adulterer, and Noah was a drunk. They are flawed people but they did God's word.
By the way, it would be interesting to hear Fr. Casey's take on that show. It's no longer on air (only lasted for one season), but I am one of the few people who really enjoyed it because of the lessons taught and how the values in the Bible is applied to real life.

This is quite possibly the most moving video you've posted thus far, at least for me. Though I feel that you and I have different stations in life, your sentiments resonate with me deeply. I myself am ill-equipped to take on the auspices and responsibilities of priesthood, but I do feel an analogous calling within the upper echelons of academia. Specifically, I've been trying to figure out how I can optimally hone and apply my holistic skill set as an anthropologist in order to benefit mankind. While some of the prospects of this discipline seem daunting and beyond my grasp, I have to remember my intrinsic motivations. Though it is sometimes difficult to determine what I do out of prudence as opposed to egoism, and this vexation leaves me feeling inadequate; unworthy. My purportedly rational doubts have proven to be double-edged swords that I've fallen on far too often. When is it appropriate for one to have confidence in their actions and endeavors? Ultimately, I just have to have faith that whatever I choose to do is beneficial to somebody, somewhere, no matter how slightly.

I am new and young to the faith. I always had this problem in shyness and fear of sharing the things I like to others. Ever since I repented and accepted Christ as my savior I had this feeling or urge to share the gospel or bible verses in social medias due to covid. At first it was scary and felt like no one would even like me more and constantly doubting myself and God, but when I then started to share people and my friends actually became supportive and proud of me I became more confident and started to pray everyday and always made sure to have a quiet time with God. Best blessing I have ever recieved from God. I will start to focus to attend in church but sadly schoolworks are also in the way. May God be with us all.

I’m a 26 year old single man and I want to be married but cant find a wife, and I really want to have a family. Is struggling with women an indication that I have a calling to the priesthood? I have had countless talking stages with women and one failed toxic relationship just this year, and im worried I will never find the right woman. I have no interest in the priesthood or religious life or being a permanent bachelor. Been praying to meet my future wife for years but my prayers seem useless. Everyone I know is already in a relationship or engaged and they’re younger than me. I have strong sexual desires that are not sinful, but they’re painful because they’re unfulfilled. Im starting to believe that if God wanted me to find someone special, it would have happened by now.
Im tired of hearing “God’s timing” and “Gods plan” when im just constantly lonely and sad. God doesn’t care that I want a family, let alone a good woman. Father Casey.
I am a baptized catholic (unfortunately not practicing at the moment, never knew how...) but I would like to tell you how deeply your videos are touching me. My purpose here is undoubtedly not to be a priest but definitely, through the Church guidance, to give time for the greater Good. Your words opened my eyes on how small actions can impact greatly other people in needs and the Church as well.
A humble request, if you haven’t done any video on the topic yet, I would really like to hear your thoughts on death. How you, as a Father, approach it. How not to fear the unknown etc.
I am not dying, just very curious and keen to have your usual well articulated thoughts.
    Best regards

    • @JetsfanMrT

I didn't know the first thing about how to become a practicing Catholic when I started going to Mass. Return to the Mass, seek out a confession, and keep trying even when you stumble.
Take the leap of faith, jump into it...leaving your doubt at the door and rely on trust. Even if it's hard, make yourself trust for an hour and see what happens! Seek our Lord, He awaits you no matter how far you feel from Him.
And on the topic of death, look up "Memento Mori". It helps with that fear of death.
I was a committed atheist for much of my life. If God can work in the life of a poor sinner who despised the church...He can work wonders in your life.
I'll say a prayer for your reversion, God bless you!

I go through this as a teacher. "I'm not good enough to be a teacher. I'm not patient enough, I'm not kind enough, I'm not knowledgeable enough, I'm not good at connecting with my students, I'm not good at differentiation, I don't have good time management skills." People, including fellow teachers, keep telling me that this is exactly what makes me a good teacher. I strive every day to be better, and I wouldn't do that if I thought I was already great. I try my best to take that to heart on days where it feels like the job is too hard and I'm so underappreciated and students and parents tell me they hate me. I want to be that patient person. I want to be that kind and compassionate person. I want to be more knowledgeable about the subject I teach. I want to make better connections with my students. And so on. And as someone who is only in their second year of teaching, I need more experience. I need to keep working on myself. I'm not a good teacher, but I can improve. I just need to keep going.

I prayed if it was something he wanted me to do, he would remove all obstacles. Well, conversely, he put obstacles in my path. I believe he was saying “Not yet.” I had promised God that I would not preach anything but his word. And he kept working on me. Finally this year, he said “Yes.” My last sermon was titled, “How little can we do for God?” It is that very idea that we are not all preachers but we all have a part in God’s work. My husband feeds the poor; I serve two small churches. God is good.

I used to watch your channel as well as other Christian channels a few years ago when I was thinking about coming back to Christianity. I was having a very hard time in my life and felt that I was missing something (i.e. Faith)- and while I do accept the laws of the Universe and general and natural philosophy, I still feel empty in side. Fast forward to now and I am getting that same feeling again. I tried coming back to my old Church and reached out via email to the priest there a year or two back on how to come back to the Church, but I ended up flaking because I was just so nervous and didn't know what to do. I would very much like to do something about it this time around. I am looking to come back, but I do not know what to do. I tried looking up advice here on RUclips but there were was not much advice that I found useful. I would really appreciate it if perhaps sometime you could talk about how those who lost faith can come back to Catholicism to myself and others like me can find a way home.
    Thank you,
    -Someone feeling very lost
