In your manual, it should tell you something like this: 1. drive the car for 3 miles or 5 km around or cool.down for 30 mins after high-speed driving before check the ATF dipstick.
There is no dipstick on a friend's 2012 mazda 6 . So how and o supposed to measure it and fill it? It's there another fill plug underneath? Cause there is no dip stick. Thanks
I have a mazda 5 2009 and the AT light is on. When I googled it, the info said that if the fluid is not low then have the car serviced asap. However, it's not low but very dirty. What should I do?
good video! I have a 2013 cx9, how many miles is needed to change the transmission oil? I would also like to know if a transmission filter needs to be changed to do a better job of maintenance. Thank you.
My mazda 3 skyactiv uses the same type of fluid. The 6 speeds usually use mazda fz fluid. Mazdas with the FW6A-EL and FW6AX-EL transmissions and Skyactiv technology. I've been using it just fine and my 3 has 250k miles. I've been getting it from blaupsrts.com its ravenol brand but its a good alternative.
@@Littles13579 I only have 38k miles, and change my oil every 5k and use the Mazda Moly oil, very expensive, but not as expensive as a motor rebuild. I read many articles that say carbon buildup is more prevalent on engines used for short trips that do not have a chance to get operating “hot” for an extended period of time, in addition to this, I have read it is not really seen often on SkyActiv motors.
@@GuitarGuy650 The trans referenced in the video is an Aisin AWTF-80 SC (as evidenced by the Toyota fluid)...I'd be interested in observing you change that internal filter in 10 min as it requires splitting the case. Feel free to research the multitude of info surrounding this particular transmission, which benefits greatly from an external filter kit since contrary to your claims it isn't happening in 10 min (Check the Volvo XC90 related material as it is the same trans and that community has proactively researched/maintained over the years). You may have this trans mistaken for the alternative.
Hi my i request if possible. To make a video on mazda cx 9 2011 how to replace transmission fluid because I don't have any knowledge or experience doing and where I leave no one want to touch or do a job transmission replace fluids all mechanics here in kentucky Radcliff do want to do any job on transmission problems please please 🙏
A few doubts... So how many fluid bottles did you use??? What problems do you fix with this service ??? I have a cx7 2008 and sometimes it takes a little long to do the changes when im accelerating...
check your manual, or not mentioned, change it around 50-60 k miles. And after that, change every 30 k miles, because, for every time you do the ATF change, you could only be able to change half of it out. For me, I always do ATF change 2-3 times, and 1-2 weeks in between.
your ATF colour still brown. You should drill and refill 5 times from brown to red. Dont flush machine which is pressure dirty out ATF can cause damage gearbox or short life
MERCON VI is not used on Mazda transmissions. They use only MERCON 5 (MERCON V). And according to the dealership, they don't replace the oil filters (except if it is extremely dirty) and don't even bother putting a gasket! They use RTV sealant or Right Stuff! So, drop the fluid, drop the pan, rinse off the filter, clean the pan and magnet, put the filter back, put a RTV bead on the pan, wait for 10 mins, put in back on, hand tighten the bolts, wait for 2 hours for the sealant to set, torque down the bolts, and you're done. If you used RTV silicone, you need to let it cure for 24 hours before filling the tranny. Otherwise, you can fill it right away! 🙂
All Mazda vehicles equipped with SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY* have lifetime transmission fluid that only needs to be changed when a major transmission component or the entire transmission needs replacement.
That's total BS that dealerships sell you so you are forced to buy a new car in about 12 years not more. The transmission fluid is being cooked and needs to be changed.

Glad I watched because I almost poured some Lucas transmission additive into my brake fluid reservoir. Thanks for the info
atf m-v IS NOT mercon v. bulletin released by mazda. you can use mobil 1 synthetic or valvoline max.
Thanks my polish friend. Your video was indeed helpful keep up the good work

You don't need to take the cover off and replace the filter?
Great vid guys, what about pulling the sump and changing the filter in it? Any vids?
I prefer to do a flush using transmission pump - full change fluid. Do you have a video showing which is the feed and return line?
Muchas gracias, excelente explicación 👏👏👏👏👍🇻🇪
Will this cover the mazda6 2013?

Top content as always... thank you guys... if you can do a skyactiv Mazda6 that would be great👍

It’s been a year? How has it treated you?
Mazda ATF M-V is the same as Motocraft FNR5 this ATF is not a mercon V
The filter you didn't chagend?
Thank you so much!
hi there what year is iti have a 06
thank you very much
Good job
I don't think the 2017 cx9 has a dip stick in the same spot. I can't find it
My CX5 uses that Mazda FZ fluid that is light blue.

I changed the turbo on my Mazda CX 5 2.2 and after 7 months there was no oil in the engine, WHY?
So you guys don't replace filter set? Can you do video on that? My mate absolutely insists replacing it too.
The filter is internal, non replaceable without a teardown. It does not have a traditional style pan filter. This trans design is extremely compact.
@@LFM80 What are you talking about? You drop the pan and the filter is easily removable. Takes all of 10 min

Hi There, I have a question i do have HONDA engine oil 5W-30 can i use that in my 2006 MAZDA 3?
Yessss
No inner Oilfilter change?
Thank you!
A 2011 does not have a dip stick it's a seal transmission!
Changing fluid and not filter???

I put 4 in my cx9 it only had 2 quarts it was low

Which problem to you fix with a preventative service?!
The fluid should be changed to prevent damage to the transmission

I never changed transmission fluid. My 2008 Mazda 3 still run good. But I will change it tomorrow. 😄😄😎
There is no filtr of oil ??
filter is inside the oil pan

Exactly this.
What an accent!

Complete bs, Trans fluid are NOT lifetime products. They wear out and take on contaminants that can't be filtered out.
Yes it’s good for the life of the transmission which is only as good as the fluid in it
"Lifetime fluids" will shorten your vehicles lifetime... They still get dirty and worn and contaminated.
That fluid is for the lifetime of the warranty! Change it every 2 to 3 years or it will be very bad for you.

People do not use another fluid on ur car. Just pay the OEM FLUID
It's literally the same thing. Toyota uses the Aisin transmission.
@@willmann30 dummy!!.. aisin/toyota is OEM.
