i think it's a combination of both the good looks and sexiness he has + the "old world elegance" as he said it that the writers gave Elijah, that made the character so loved by the fans. He is my favourite original
It's too bad that the writers assassinated his character on the spinoff. Elijah revolves around Hayley now and is obsessed with her for no reason. I miss S2 Elijah on The Vampire Diaries.
+Olivia95 Omg sameee!! I absolutly LOVE Elijah!! What attracts me the most about him is the old world elegance to him, he's loyal and keeps his promises
When Elijah was introduced I felt more like he gave of and air of dangerous, powerful, and confident, someone to be respected and feared, but not menacing. Once he showed up he became my absolute favorite, then Damon followed by Stefan and the girls I like are Vamped Caroline and April.
It a shame they never really developed Kol as a character, I feel like he's just broken and misunderstood a lot like how everyone is saying he is similar to Damon and klaus. Yes the Kol we've seen is a little head strong and may only care about him self but it is to an extent. My dream is for kol to come back on the originals and to be able to see him grow as a person, he just needs the opportunity
He is right. He does "look" like what a vampire should be. I definitely saw that when he played Elijah. His "air" was definitely what he said, "old world elegance" that's for sure.
He's way to modest... to say that he just showed up and "did it" is just not true and giving the credit to the writers is selling himself short. Someone else could've read the same words and died after two episodes. He is quite a talented actor. But I believe he believes what he's saying, though... very very talented...
just like barnabas Collins...old world charm, elegance and manners and a conscience...barnabas was supposed to only be in a few episodes of dark shadows and look what happened...people fell in love with him just like Elijah ...evidently we love our vampires to have a heart
noh! no! you are wrong! IT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH YOU!....your face, the chiseled jaw nnd sleender face, the accent, the swag......oh my gosh i can go on nnd on.....elijah(nnd klaus) is the best, perfect nnd true description of a vampire tv..if theere were ever vampires, especially ones that old,BAM! they'd look like elijah
Meh, Kol resembled Damon in alot of ways. It probably explains why they hated each other so much too. But the only thing Kol wanted was for them all to stop trying to go after the cure, and that's the only thing he was really trying to do. They barely let Kol develop as a character, but from what we did see, he only wanted to prevent the apocalypse and he seemed to love his family very much but was very hurt by their constant back stabbing towards each other.
What Kol cared about most, was himself . . . and when given the option of choosing who's side he was really on, he always chose himself. Do you really think stopping the hunt for the cure was for anyone but himself? It was never suggested that it was for anyone else, or for the greater good. Damon is flawed, to a massive extent, but in his own way, he'll suffer through pain, and be hated, or even risk being killed, if it means the one's he loves are alive and well. He'll burn the world for love!
Cared only about himself? I don't think you remember the scene with Rebekah, sure he might have cared about himself and he's obviously very selfish....but Klaus and Damon were portrayed that way when they first came into the show. And I wouldn't say he only chose himself, he was watching Jeremy for Klaus (before he found out about the cure) and he was trying to help his sister find the cure, before he found out about Silas....he was actually going to try and help Rebekah find happiness....
Honestly, I think this is merely a case of difference of perception, in taste. You view a character a certain way, and no one has any right to tell you otherwise. Besides that, I'm really not interested in arguing a moot point for the next few months on a social network for the world to see. We are above this, both of us.
There was moments when they showed who he really was, and he still was a "wrong action-right reason" kind of character lol Otherwise he wouldn't have tried to stop them from raising Silas. But they did show who he was a bit, like when rebekah threatened to stake him, it upset him quite a bit. There was other moments too, but they barely even gave the character a chance to grow. Most of the villains on the show start off as mindless homicidal maniacs at the beginning like Klaus did.
I'm not saying he WASN'T that kind of character at the root of e everything. Perhaps I should have been more specific. Wrong action-right reason, for something or someone ELSE. Like Damon, or Jem from the movie The Town (I don't know if you've seen that) They CAN be selfish, and they're ALWAYS going about things in the wrong way. But if you look at their motives, it's seldom shallow, or for purely selfish reasons. And they don't lie about that. Perhaps Kol simply wasn't given enough time!
I'm not entirely sure, perhaps that WAS what I didn't like, I felt no sense of a person in him, I mean, most of the time that we DO see of him, he's gone completely psychotic over the Silas thing (he did have a point) but there seemed to be nothing human left in him. My favorite characters are the 'wrong action-right reason' kind, eg, Damon . . . Kol just struck me as empty . . . And later on, rather annoying in his mania. At least to me.
To think that he was supposed to be on the show for 2 episodes and now he has his own show!
If he was to be on only two episodes a lot of people would have stopped watching the originals XD
@ said halim, he meant on TVD
Ohhh. Lmao. Messed up
***** yeah
Because he is AMAZING!
Still picture him with a suit
it is weird to see him in normal clothes
i think it's a combination of both the good looks and sexiness he has + the "old world elegance" as he said it that the writers gave Elijah, that made the character so loved by the fans.

@@GloryGrullon about Hayley i agree
The reason Elijah is around is because he is FREAKING HOT and plus he has great hair!!!
The reason Elijah is around is because Daniel Gillies is a brilliant actor! ;)

When Elijah was introduced I felt more like he gave of and air of dangerous, powerful, and confident, someone to be respected and feared, but not menacing. Once he showed up he became my absolute favorite, then Damon followed by Stefan and the girls I like are Vamped Caroline and April.
"He's not just a pretty guy with teeth" God, I love this guy 😂
I think he wanted to say Damon, but he changed his mind along the way😅😌
Elena/Elijah exchanges are one of the bests imo ! The others are more the siblings bickering or some sassy/sarcastic comments par-ci par-là ! 😭💕✨
AGREE! )
It a shame they never really developed Kol as a character, I feel like he's just broken and misunderstood a lot like how everyone is saying he is similar to Damon and klaus. Yes the Kol we've seen is a little head strong and may only care about him self but it is to an extent. I agree we need kol back + he was my fave
I think you're getting your wish! :D

This guy's awesome! And, no offense to anyone out there that disagrees, but Elijah is the ONLY Original I can tolerate. I'm not sure why . . .

He has New Zealand humour :)
I guess everyone has a different idea of what they like most. . .
Seriously? I loved Kol lol

What don't you like about Kol? They barely showed us who he was, same thing with Finn.
: )
The scene he is talking about was cut. There's no video of it.
Maybe no one got it out
