I think the originals is a little bit better then the vampire diaries because it more interesting and in the vampire diaries it all about Alayna and in original it about klaus and his daughter but I honest think original is more interesting .

So here is the thing . In VD there are only 2 sort of immortal characters with only about 150 years of history , and not that strong of witches or werewolves. In TO there are 5 main characters with a thousand years of history Michel , Klaus , Elijah , Rebekah , Kol. Each of them have had heartbreaks and relations that have lasted for centuries some of hate and some of love and some lost in time like Aya and Celist and Tristan people they have loved hated and feared , also Frey is a 1000 year old with with access to old magic and knowledge. Young blood like daveena and Josh and Haley challenge there power in a away that shows that they aren't as afraid of the original family because they haven't been around long enough to understand there power and see it's consequences like Daveen challenging Klaus at ever step, on the other end those that have been around longer know what they can good so they attack only when they have absolutely everything planed like Lucien BCS at some level either they are scared or aware of the power that the Michelsons hold. And when you are a thousand years old you have more defined character traits and a lot more complexity to you as a person with multiple layers of relations and generations of suffering to guide you. So it is easy to understand why they stick together they find common ground despite hating each other at times . Thats just my take.

I disagree, TVDis not a love story is the story of the Salvatore brothers and has so many layers and details that if you watch the whole show and get all information, than if you watch it again and the story has a total new meaning; you can rewatch it times and times again and it is still very fresh and enjoyable because you discover new things all the time. I love TO a lot but you watch it once and you are done, like any other show. That is why TVD is by far more superior. Also let's be honest the Salvatore Brothers are way more charismatic, fascinating, gorgeous and their story and bond is way more organic and compelling, their relationship, their brotherly rivalry, fight, love, bond, their humor is unbeatable.
@@Patricia7561 ya the originals is very unrealistic in terms of character development ,sometimes they behave how they did before and suddenly some forced character development comes but in tvd it seems more organic and raw
Also in the originals there are a lot of unlikable characters but in tvd I like most of them and feels like a personal connection.The originals purposely claim that it is darker and adult but I feel the 17/18 year olds in tvd make mature decisions and act maturely than the supposed"adult" show that is the originals .

Vampire dairies getting boring and looks more like a re run the same thing keeps happening, only reason I'm still watching vamp is because Damon started killing again, but originals is really interesting and keeps getting better every episode and it has klaus

+Bleadze King That's the difference between new and old series. As tv series get older they get so boring, and originals is new and has so much to tell. I just hope it doesn't burn out as fast... because after all they do have a 1000 years worth of history. I hope the writers use that advantage.

I started watching The originals without realising vampire diaries should have been watch first can somebody explain what I may need to know because it's too late for me to start watching the other show because I'm over half way through season 1 of originals
Tvd has its own storyline, check it out. Same timeline but following different storylines. TVD basically gets you familiar with the supernatural creatures. Loved them both, TO a tiny bit more since it was not as much romance inspired as TVD.

Idk if the scope was larger on The Originals than the vampire diaries when TVD had a lot of mysticism in it. They fix the afterlife...deal with all kinds of supernatural villains. They find the cure. They deal with Silas, who was older than the originals, or discover prison worlds. The originals is more about new orlean politics and problems they created. So id say TVD had a larger scope. Tvd had better villains. Not to say i didnt love TO but the hollow? Least fav villain. And where does Klaus go for help in 5x12? To TVD ppl.

The characters on The Vampire Diaries were always worried about control and rules but the characters on The Originals pretty much do what they want and don’t really worry about humans, also the main on TVD, Bonnie, was weak and couldn’t do as much as Davina. I think the fact that TO has more reckless and powerful characters is what makes it better than TVD.

Jay I checked it but that was published in 2013 and 2014 and season 8 didn’t exist where she got her magic back and helped mystic falls so they didn’t know a few years ago but if that’s your opinion it’s ok

He was born in Canada and spent most of his life in New Zealand so pretty much a nz accent
