The new characters are always appreciated, but we desperately need a new mode or at least the ability to do online Co op tournaments.

@@LeonardoBarbosa-qw6fp Yeah that's my biggest gripe with the game, the stadiums are too freaking tiny and they all play exactly the same. New characters is cool and all but doesn't really change anything for me.

Mario Strikers Charged at launch had: 12 Team Captains and 8 Side Characters, 10 new Stadiums and 7 returning ones, 14 items (sure, some of them were variants of other items, but still even then 9 different ones) plus the characters' super ability.
Mario Strikers Battle League after 3 updates has: 16 characters (with only 2 that are new to the series and characters in general being less distinct in terms of gameplay), 8 stadiums (none of which actually have any gimmicks or play differently), 6 items
They shouldve sticked with its traditional style of strikers. Now everyone a freaking Captain and Sidekick...

I love how people are still complaining about games being "unfinished" just cause certain things aren't in it when every other game with post additional content is doing the exact same thing.
@@supermax9007 I mean, the game should at the very least live up to the standards of its predecessor. Other games doing the same thing isn't an excuse. Don't defend poor practices.

@@supermax9007 I figure it's less about the post additional content, and more about the fact that the game, at least at launch, had less content than even the first Mario Strikers on the GC (10 characters and 5 stadiums VS 13 characters - and yes, the sidekicks count as characters - and 7 stadiums). I agree that free updates aren't the end of the world and can bring back players if done right (key words: if done right), but if the base game isn't meaty enough, then what do you expect? Y'know, just saying.

At this point, all we need are for some of the older items to return like the chain chomp and ice shell, giant mushroom, and for all characters to have a unique ability again, and this game will be almost perfect

@@KamyAnai03 no, we do not need to stop criticizing the game, if we just let it slide, we'll get mario sluggers: home run, which'll just be a fifa game but with mario characters, where the only difference between characters in how fast the ball goes and how fast they move, and there'll also be a special shot, but all it does is make the ball go faster than a normal shot, there will be no story mode, but hey look, tournament mode, thats cool right?

I’m sure these characters (especially junior) will definitely be balanced
Actually bc of how the gear system works the balance in the game is pretty good. Since in order to boost stats you have lower some others it means that your character will always be bad at something
Finnaly they added Birdo! They should add Birdo to Mario Kart 8 as well 💖
They really should! And all of the other Tour characters that aren’t in 8DX. 8 & Tour share the same character models as each other so in theory it would be easy to port them over!

Besides Pauline… taking 5 characters who were in Chargers and have them as DLC (which this being supposedly the last update this game will get) seems kind of like a slap in the face.

Why are Nintendo so committed to denying the recording of new voice lines? I genuinely don't believe this was Next Level Games' doing, either.
Nintendo the new characters are nice and all, however we still need more modes. All we have is online and vs modes. We need more content like the old games.

As far as I know, only Nintendo of America consistently calls Birdo a she. In other languages, I think especially Japanese versions, throughout multiple games Birdo is often referred to as a boy that dresses as a girl or would like to be referred to as a girl. Then again in some games Birdo is apparently categorized as a girl (e.g. Peach's heart powers affect male characters and characters with unknown gender, they don't affect Birdo). Also I don't think Nintendo has ever officially announced the specific gender of Birdo. Until then, I'd say Birdo just remains gender fluid.

Man this game really suffered from the “finish it later” approach.
If only mk8 dx could get returning characters too as well, but still nice to see strikers getting some dev love

Ikr! Like something is missing 🤔 for me i missed how individualized everyone’s theme was in Strikers Charged. Pauline really is the only one that has that but that’s just because that’s her whole character design anyway. Also they should’ve made each character more aggressive and rude like before 😂

Got this game a couple weeks back and been having a blast with it. Glad they're still releasing new content.
You play alone or with others?
@@gokuandmario4ever I was fortunate, because I had a team of 4 to play with when I got it. I can pretty reliably get that number with local co-op, but don't know if any of my online friends have the game.

@@gokuandmario4ever I would say it's the ideal way to play, yes, at least with my experience. Especially couch co-op; getting a small group of friends together so you can form strategies, call passes and shots, and just generally getting into the screaming and high-energy that comes with a really good co-op experience is something that mostly only Nintendo is still delivering these days.
Bowser Junior's voice clips sound brand new.

I was kinda hoping for Petey Piranha to come back on the field, or even potentially King Boo, but I guess some things just can’t happen. Maybe Nintendo could slip in ONE more add on. Otherwise, good update.
It is likely that Petey Piranha will not be included as a playable character.

Really like it, but we still need a new mode, for example: sidekick mode or career mode, we also need more items and I'd really love to get the special shots back

I saw this game for like $34 on Amazon, and after the last 3 updates, I think the discounted price is now worth the content I'm getting. Seeing as how this seems to be the last update, the game looks to have shaped up fairly decently. I think I'll go ahead and get it.

I would like the future playable characters to be the Mii characters, they are my favorites and they deserve to appear in this game to give them greater importance.
