Love how Strike matches are held in a pocket dimension and how two stadiums can become one.
As crazy as it is, this does seem safer than skydiving onto the field...
That’s actually lame.
The Wii version was more extreme and better, the arena in the top of a mountain with storm passing by is miles better than anything shown here.
There’s no good details background here except the audience, very lifeless and empty if you look further.

So that the base game should had already included all the main cast like Birdo and Daisy. If the DLCs are just yet those main cast only, we can never really expect more innovative contents. It feels like you shouldn't pay for the tissue in restuatant.

As much as I fear Daisy, a staple in the Mario Strikers series as much as Wario, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong, will be regulated to a free update, I seriously hope they don't forget her. Or heck, do the Camelot approach and have her be part of the base game at the game's launch like they did with Rosalina in Mario Golf Super Rush and unfortunately have her unlockable. It just doesn't feel right to not see her as part of the main character roster.
I think the real problem is people want to see more new players like Rosalina, maybe KingKRool, Poochy, Hellen or Koopalings. So that the base game should had already included all the main cast like Birdo and Bowser Jr. If the DLCs are just yet those main cast only, we can never really expect more innovative contents.
@@Doracake could be an interesting take but the problem in your problem is that Mario's actual character roster is pretty small, a lot of NPCs creatures exist for sure but lack of development in every way, like who in this planet cares about the Broodals or Koopalings, just like every fodder enemy that got added in Mario Tennis Aces. Daisy at least has a personality that has always been related to sports, K Rool could be but they don't mix him in Mario's universe...
Only real options are, like always, Daisy, Bowser Jr, Birdo (which only because she stopped being a fodder enemy it got to be thought as her own character), etc. A cool "new" one was Pauline, we need more of that.

Which Strikers game had 20 playable characters? The original had 8 + 1 unlockable and the Wii one had 9 + 3 unlockables.
This roster here looks like it could easily fit 6 more unlockable (or added through free updates) characters.
The lack of Daisy is heresy. Though I'd hazard they're holding her as DLC so that "Mario Strikers is back" and "Daisy in Mario Strikers is back" can be two separate hype cycles.

While my criticism is that there’s not enough characters (probably saved for the free DLCS), I’m still excited for this games thanks to the amazing graphics, gameplay, and how the new abilities are handled

either DLC or like unlocking characters through something in the game. idk if the original had a story mode, maybe whatever the equivalent to that. so maybe like after a certain amount of games, youll be able to unlock a character and you have to defeat that character's team, just like in smash or smth idk, just an idea.
@@sultan_3864 I had the original on the gamecube as a kid, and yeah there wasn't really a story mode, but by beating all the cups you could unlock one new character. It wasn't anybody recognizable, just this robot called "super team," a team of robots that can all do super strikes since normally your sidekick teammates can't do those
Mario Strikers Charged had you unlock a couple of characters by winning cups, I’d imagine this game will have the same thing
My thing when I play games is it the gameplay is fun, that’s about it, if the gameplay is good it’ll be worth it, it’s very critique the amount of content in it, but honestly I think it’s more fun to test if the game is fun
I definitely prefer the captain/sidekick layout. Having everyone on the field as a main character feels a bit overwhelming. The concept of 3 hammer bros existing or 4 toads also made sense. & even though the sidekicks were, well, sidekicks, they were still brimming with personality & were aptly given their time to shine.

I have been picking Daisy since I was 10 years old as my go to character. Cant really see myself enjoying the game until they add her. So I'll wait until they do. :)
It seems that she is not going to be in it . For the past years Rosalina took over daisy Fame. I’m a daisy player too but sadly knowing Nintendo how it is . This Mario striker I have used peach.
@@Yadomon I have faith she will still make it. After all, it's a Daisy bracelet that you get an Super Mario land in Universal Studios. Not Rosalina. Daisy is still more popular, they know that. I feel like Nintendo is trying to make people like Rosalina just as much as Daisy/Peach but doing stuff like this. But they don't realize that is going to take time and they are trying to force it by not making Daisy an option. Like, I have been picking Daisy for over 15 years now. It's going to take time and lots of it to make Rosalina have that "nostalgic I love you feel" Daisy has.

What bothers me as they said 10 (total) characters it would be different if they said (starting) with 10 characters but since they said total it’s got me concerned that is all there is better be plus tax with DLC.
This game looks very enjoyable but, like everyone else has said, they should add more playable characters at some point in time. There's a very decent amount of characters they could choose. My top five would be Daisy, Diddy Kong, Birdo, Pauline, and Bowser Jr.

It's amazing to see Strikers coming back, but I don't know if I'm a huge fan of making mostly all main icons as the team captain and teammates but it may just be my nostalgia for minion characters as your teammates. And I'm also feeling like there's something missing with the art style overall. It's SO close but it feels like there was sort of a 'safe' approach that I can't exactly explain...
I feel the same, Strikers Charged was much more intense and in your face and I loved it. This feels like a more watered down version of Strikers and I liked before how we had minion characters for teammates with the Captain feeling like this dynamic force that could shift the game with a Captain Ability or certain skillset your team needed. Now Mario can wear a bunch of gear and be as bulky as a character like Bowser and Donkey Kong? Nah, that feels off to me.
@@justinmcmullen3328 people on here are speculating that the captain system will be retained for the single player modes, and this trailer focused on multiplayer.
This is so great! Really stoked Nintendo finally brought back the Mario Strikers series! Loved the previous two games!
Here's hoping Nintendo will also be adding more content like characters, gear, fields, and modes.
I hate to be that guy but unless this game does well it's likely to get the mario golf treatment.
This looks amazing, and I'm thrilled that Strikers is finally back, but there REALLY needs to be more characters, whether unlockable or as updates. The Mario universe has such a massive cast of characters and species, it's disappointing to see the same few every time without much variety, especially when there are less here than in Charged. Daisy's the glaring omission, but Chargin' Chuck would be a PERFECT new addition. Hopefully there's more coming in the future.

Almost everything here is great. The only thing that has me worried is that there are only 10 characters. What I was thinking was that maybe some of the sidekicks would become their own captain like Toad. Either way, there is Daisy and Petey. Those two are a good choice for adding some more characters.
I'm excited, but still cautious about the game overall.
They only added 10 on purpose so they can add more as paid DLC. It’s what all gaming companies do now, sell an incomplete buggy game and fix/add things later
@@johnsoapmactavish9921 If we're to use the past Mario Sports games as reference, both Tennis and Golf got free DLC with new characters, none which was paid. But yeah, it's a bit dissapointing that current gaming companies sell an incomplete game then patch it up later.

For me, I'm also worried about what the offline content will be. They haven't shown a lot of it from the looks of it, hoping they still have a Striker Cup/tournament story mode and/or challenges, as my Internet isn't the best for online gaming
@@diabeticman2194 I know what you mean. The tournaments in Charged unlocked Bowser Jr., Diddy Kong, and Petey and they were actually awesome. I'd be worried about the tournaments, especially when the ones in Tennis Aces did absolutely nothing except getting the Star version of characters.

Considering how they had to remove Daisy's "Whatever!" Line from Super Rush, I have a feeling that Next Level Games was having some trouble getting Daisy in due to how modern Nintendo feels about her attitude. I definitely think that if this game sells well, they'll add more charatcers in though.

@@Doracake I can agree with that. One thing to keep in mind is the Mario Sports games recently have had free updates for new charatcers and such. Even though Super Rush was a different studio, I wouldn't be suprised if Next Level Games made the charatcers free.

2:07 The remix of the Mario Strikers Charged menu theme has me super nostalgic. it's somehow been 15 years since Charged came out and to hear that familiar theme when I thought Strikers would never come back makes me so happy! I'm just hoping there are stadium hazards and more characters on the way, but really looking forward to this!
This game looks amazing, and I am super hyped for it. However, I am still hoping for a few more characters. It is hard to imagine they will only include ten playable characters. Especially considering the last installment had twelve captains, plus sidekicks.
Roster's a bit small for a 4v4 game where each member is from the base roster. Maybe add at least 5 characters, including Daisy obviously, and it will be much better.

There are a lot of games that makes you care about the stats, but it gets me more when it's about technique than about stats. The team tackle feels really like a creative rule that decides how this game is played without breaking too much into stats.
Stats are great in games to up your game, but when it's too much nuanced, I can get very blurry and indecisive in a game. Not wat you want when a game is action-based right?

That is so fire, especially the character artwork. Someone really needs to create a manga based off of those character artworks because they are so badass.
Definitely looking forward, they should add the outfits from strikers charged. It had some pretty good character designs from what I remember. Bowsers was probably my favorite one.

I think they're _kinda_ in the game, with customizable. If they're not in there, there's gear that's pretty visually similar. Though, I do believe some of Bowser's gear gives him the metal claws.

Where is Daisy?. She's been in almost every mario sports game for over 20 years. And strikers was probably her at her best. The game just feels weird without her.
Shame on them for choosing Rosaline instead. They’re probably out of budge and had to pick those 10 rosters and as the game sell they’ll be able to provide more characters like Tennis and Golf did.
I’m so happy cup battles are back so this sports game will have a great amount of single and multiplayer content at launch as it should be and unlike golf and tennis
I haven’t gotten the chance to experience this game’s past releases so I must get it. It’s still going strong and loved by many so it’s a must buy, + the RPG elements.
On its own, the game definitely looks solid. As someone who has played the original and charged it is pretty different so I can’t wait to see how this game makes its own identity.

Looks amazing. Mario Strikers Charged Football was one of my favorite Wii games, so I am looking forward for this being on the switch.
Back when servers were live on the Wii I was a monster playing with daisy online and was striker of the day many times. Seeing she’s not in base game hurts so much.
Man, the game looks fine so far but there is one thing I'd like to say with all the passion in my heart:

so... I rlly love the Strikers series (specially Charged) and I'm really happy it's back, but:
- Only items used here were green/red shells, bananas and a reworked bob-omb, most of previous items are missing
- Only ten characters, all of which seems like our previous characters but a bit tonned down since there doesn't seem to be the unique special habilities pickup we had and their dribles seem very simplified
- No sidekicks? They were not only a huge deal previously but also the ones we'd play the most on the field, not to mention that every single one had a unique personality
- No Daisy or Petey
- No map hazards which were a huge and important mechanic previously, all maps shown here look like a copy of Stadium
I guess I'll wait for the game to come out before purchasing it
Remember, in Strikers Charged, Bowser Jr, Diddy Kong, and Petey Piranha were all unlocked through the story. There still could be more characters we haven't seen yet.
I love how the changes that have been made are mainly just additions. Nintendo seems to really be pushing games that are more free flowing and don’t have random interruptions from normal gameplay. Like how a lot of the smash attacks in smash ultimate are automatic and faster. It just seems to keep you in the moment more

@@warmblanket3394 the change to final smashes is still appropriate, yeah it makes more sense from a competitive standpoint to make the super attacks more balanced but a lot of the fun of Final Smashes and Charged Strikes that came with the absolute BS of those moves was removed
Feels off to have Daisy in particular absent for an entry in this series seeing as how her personality fit in so well with the hyper competitive vibe. Almost certain new characters will be added as free dlc like Tennis Aces which disappoints cause it just takes away from the launch.

Honestly this gives me esport potential vibes. I really hope this game can be competitive enough to warrant an actual esport, and that Nintendo actually supports it. I mean, Striker Club season tournaments? That's definitely a start. And if you can have 4 players on a team, that means you can actually get an organization for this team. The only things I can see being a bit of a hinderance tot his are probably the unlockable costumes (even though the stat boosts could encourage different loadouts to be used against other teams, which incorporates a degree of strategy) and *maybe* the hyper strikes, for the same reason as why Final Smash is disabled in Smash Ultimate tournaments
It has potential at the very least, but we just have to see. I really do hope it comes to that point. Pro competitive Mario Strikers sounds amazing
If you're interested there is a fan-run Mario strikers discord server that is all about the series. Matches are always being held and there are tournaments as well, probably the closest thing you can get to esports for the older games. I'm sure it'll be a really big hub for the new game when it comes out, check it out!

I really like how this game is being set up. Creativity, gameplay, Graphics etc. Only downfall is the characters but everything else can overshadow that.
The hyper strikes looks so cool and I love how each character has their own version but I still prefer the animation inside the second game Mario Strikers Charged before they kick the ball during their hyper strike

@@conspiracyspider Nah mario kart is it's own thing and outsells all of the things. Which is weird why they took so long to add dlc but oh well.
@@conspiracyspider Mario kart dlc is sorta free. Online if someone picks a track from the dlc and you don't have it, you still get to race it.

Looks good, but the roster is lacking. 10 characters in a game that allows up to 8 players, things might get quickly repetitive. (And that's even with the customization.) Now, the big thing, yes, I really do hope Daisy is eventually added in, alongside other characters. Strikers is where her personality was solidified, and while it's disappointing that she isn't in at this time, it'd be even more disappointing if she's left out entirely.
However, given how Tennis Aces and Golf Rush had DLC that built up the roster, the same for Strikers Battle League would seem a foregone conclusion.
I'll hold off on pre-ordering the game, and if Daisy gets added, then I'll buy. If she doesn't get in, then I won't buy it, plain and simple.
You can have multiple of the same characters on the same Team (at least in online mode) so that's probably why there's a weak starting roster but they'll definitely do free DLC in the future!

@@NMUltra If they do end up doing that, it will show that they released an unfinished game yet again. Ever since the Switch’s success was apparent, Nintendo has just been so lazy with the games being able to captivate players at launch. Just like with Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Tennis/Golf and Kirby Star Allies.
Now assuming that this is what is going to happen, STOP DOING THAT AND JUST RELEASE THE FULL GAME AT LAUNCH! Nintendo is a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY, so the lack of content and such is just unacceptable.
