    Hi. I'm actually at a much earlier lesson but I wanted to say something to any Jewish people who might be considering this channel to help them learn Hebrew. I'm a Jewish American and I live in a tiny little rural town in the Midwest. I found myself with a great desire to learn Hebrew with no local resources. The internet has resources but they are often junk or expensive and you don't know what you are getting until after you put down your money. Then I found this channel and I was faced with a serious problem. I think this is the best online resource for learning Hebrew hands down, and yet there is a non-Jew teaching it. After some serious thought and prayer, I decided that this is where I was going to start my Hebrew journey. After spending several weeks here I am more convinced than ever that this was the right decision. Our teacher here is kind and good. There is no secondary agenda that I have seen; its just Hebrew.

      Jesus was a Jewish man, who fulfilled the Law and delivered it to all the nations, saving them by the grace of the all-merciful God. Then, since "Avram" and Beth do this work out of their love for Christ, you are completely home here.

    Next time on Aleph with Beth, will the king of Israel actually give all he owns to Ben Hadad? Will a prophet arise in Israel? Will Abram wear Beth’s clothing again to illustrate כ? Tune in next time and (maybe) you’ll find out!

      Will a prophet arise in Israel? Here is the answer to the Melodist: Daniel 9.
      25.Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
      26.And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah (Jesus Christ) be cut off, and there is not to Him. Question: What is the meaning of: …is not to Him-we eyn Lo? The answer is: in the spiritual way, is not to Him the cuting of-the Yikareth, because He will resurrect!!! And this Prophesy is fullfilled!!!
      ... And the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city (Jerusalem) and the Sanctuary;…this is fullfilled!!! In 70 CE, Titus came with the Roman army and destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple…

    Wrt the 1 Kings 20:3b passage at the end, what is the function of 'ka' in 'kaspcha' (NRSV, NKJV and NIV seem not to translate this at all)? And why does it say li 'hu' instead of li 'hem' since it refers to both the silver and gold?

    • @AlephwithBeth
      @AlephwithBeth  3 года назад +1

      "ka" is just part of the word "kaspekha" "your silver." kesef --> kaspekha. I guess it says hu because it's referring to all his collective wealth. It would be weird even in English to say "your silver and your gold, they are mine." Singular "It is mine' would sound more natural to me.

    • @Wyzz222
      @Wyzz222 3 года назад

      @@AlephwithBeth Ah ok got it now. I must have thought silver was "sefek" and that "spekha" was "your silver" and gotten confused :p.
      And on the li hu, I was thinking the "li" was like "lo" (as in "he" had/ to "him"), so I thought the hu was referring to the silver and gold.
      My bad 😅

    • @Wyzz222
      @Wyzz222 3 года назад

      Ah wait hmmm ok no I misunderstood your li hu point. Think I get it now. So my initial understanding was right but for me it *does* feel more natural to say 'they are mine' right after mentioning 'silver and gold' (as these are two things and the next sentence about sons and wives does use 'li hem' as well).
