Back in the Dynasty days my bro in law was a doorman at Peters building in NYC. He asked Peter for an autograph cuz his two younger bro in laws were big fans. Peter obliged. Then two days later handed him three front row tickets for Kiss show at the Nassau Coliseum. No matter the bad shit I have heard about him over the years, that was an incredibly sweet thing to do. Love ya Peter.
Could you negative people please show respect to a man that has been a musician for 55 years on the day of his last official performance. Its sad to read and tells more about you than him. Thanks Peter Criss for being a part of the band, all us that didn't fit in elsewhere, had as a place to go "You and the Guys still matter to me!!"
Charles B. We can tell you are a Paul Stanley worshiper nothing more pathetic than that I’d rather hang out with Peter in heaven then burn in hell with you and Paul better change your attitude.
Setlist : 1. I Can’t Stop the Rain 2. Hooked on Rock ’n’ Roll 3. Strange Ways (KISS song) 4. Strutter (KISS song) 5. Don’t You Let Me Down 6. You Matter to Me 7. Hooligan (KISS song) 8. Nothin' to Lose (KISS song) 9. Words 10. Hard Luck Woman (KISS song) 11. Beth (KISS song) 12. Rock and Roll All Nite (KISS song) 13. Sing, Sing, Sing (Gene Krupa cover) 👌👍👍👍
I don't care what anyone says. I really enjoyed that. Peter's jazz solo was cool too. Long live The Catman. Definitely an early drumming influence. And keep in mind. EVERYBODY ages. No one is immune to that fact.
I'm a young female drummer from UK in a all female heavy rock etc peter criss was my great influence .he's the best drummer in my eye out there rock on Mr criss!!!
I Love Kiss, and have done for 35+ years, but it is just so much more fun to listen to those obscure songs by each member than to go a Kiss Concert and see the over the top spectacle and listen to the same songs , over and over again !
BETH WAS MY MOMS FIRST FAVORITE SONG OF PETERS I CAN RELATE TO THIS SONG AND THE PASSING OUT ROSES TO THE LADIES IN TRIBUTE OF PETERS MOM ,MY MOM IS NOW GONE TOO SO NEXT TIME I SING BETH AT KARAOKE I MIGHT ALSO PASS OUT ROSES IN MEMORY OF MY MOM AND TRIBUTE TO PETER CRISS AS WELL. IT HAS BEEN A TRADITION OF PETER'S SINCE I CAN REMEMBER GOT TO KEEP HIS TRADITION ALIVE FOLKS !!!!
This is amazing. I never listened to his solo stuff since the couple dozen spins I gave them during the heydays. Now I was craving every one with the intros to each song. This performance was legendary and I now love his music as much as the KISS songs. Thank you Peter for showing so much class and love.
Thanks Mike!! Loved this, Peter's songs in KISS always ruled! I knew his voice wouldn't be up to par but I'll tell ya one think! It's better than Paul's right now HA HA! It's not 1976 people its 20fkn18 so I'll take The Cat in this state cause remember he's a cancer survivor and were lucky he's still here for us! Again thanks Mike for posting, I wanted to fly out for this but had a job to cover then.
22.4.79, my 1st communion... and I received a copy of the 1st solo album. Well I played drums already but from now on I wanted to combine it with vocals. Heavy drumming here, strange ways is top
MY HEART Goes out to the legendary PETER CRISS the real CAT MAN I always loved peter if not for him I would have never picked up a drum stick drums was my first love and peter had a big impact in my life , KISS were idiots for letting pete go but peter on his own came up with some great music as a solo he proved he didnt need KISS to make him shine pete is a founding member as same with ACE pete deserves more respect then he been getting it saddens me he is semi retiring but again pete paid his due's to the industry and his FANS as far as I am concerned PETER CRISS will always be ROCK royalty and the real CAT MAN !! and the only true drummer of KISS!!!! I LOVE YOU PETER AND ...YOU ALWAYS BE THE CAT MAN.............FOREVER !!!! yeah peter it was some helluva ride......
Peter Criss is a legend and a influence on any musician or rocker songs like Hard Luck Woman and Beth are classic everybody has demons he beat his I just hope kiss least let them do the final show with Ace and Peter on this end of the road tour or whatever you call it lol
Peter Cross is essential the first 3 years of Kiss 74-77.BETH,HARD LUCK WOMAN, BLACK DIAMOND. KISS got airplay because of Peter. That is why they treat him like shit. Gene and Paul know the truth and they know that the fans know what the truth is.
You know that there wasn't a whole lot of money made here. HOWEVER, you also know damn well that the CatMan made sure his band was paid properly. Peter Rules.
I loved and still do his solo album. Those who say it s...s don't know music. It was a solo album not to be meant a KISS album! Great to hear these songs live! Happy B day Catman!
thank you peter criss for all your music if it was nt for you i would have never picked up a pair of sticks when i was 8 years old still playing to just about ever weekend i can we all true kiss army members love you resept you and willNOT forget you ever just a little note too when the solo albums came out mom took me to the local record shop back when those were around on my birthday and said ok you can pick 2 i said very loudly the catman mom everbody in there started cheering then she ok who else i sayed ace mom well thanks again peter for all your music advice and wisdom we love love you so much
I agree. His solo album was great. He had great voice for blues. But he can't write songs. Not to mention that he pissed away his talent, when he left kiss. When I was a kid, I thought all the songs on the album was "his" . As and adult, I learned he hadn't written any of them. Still think it's a great album, despite what critics said. But I also think a lot of what have been said about him, and his personality are true. He was in several band after kiss, and barely lasted a month. But I still stand by your word. The "kiss" Peter criss Solo Album is great.
Damn! Sing! Sing! Sing! was a great touch . . . . he always praises Gene Krupa. I'm pretty sure Gene Krupa was the original drummer for SING SING SING - or at least the Benny Goodman version.
Worst to best solo ventures by the original members of KISS: 4. Paul Stanley Soul Station 3. Gene Simmons Vault Experience 2. Peter Criss farewell shows 1. The Ace Frehley band
what the fuck are you talking about? peter was never a good musician at the level of paul and soul station is amazing, if you don't like soul music is another question
Paul is a great frontman. And maybe my comment is a bit biased. The Ace Frehley Band is the only originals member solo venture I’ve had the privilege of seeing in person and it was amazing. Had he not been in KISS to begin with, I’m sure he still would’ve had a fair chance at getting famous in the 70’s with the tunes he wrote. Paul? Probably not.
The solo albums of kiss that were special to me were Aces and of course peters they should been let loose with kiss but that would be a real band.Loved this thanks for sharing and thank you peter youre the best.
I went to the Kiss Concert last year when they came to Dallas Texas. I'm not sure why Kiss couldn't have Ace and Peter open for them. I'm not sure why ace and peter wouldn't want to open for kiss. I'm sure they could have separated out their songs for their set. There would have been all kinds of guys wanting to play with them. It could have been an all-star band.
Peter's solo record had some badass songs on it that work well live as we can tell from this concert. Which begs this question, why didn't Peter record this concert and put it out on DVD? Just askin.
I'm not trying to be a Danny Downer, but occasionally these Peter Criss live clips remind me of The Blues Brothers movie Rawhide scene? By mid show Peter’s voice, which was good for only a couple of numbers in his days with KISS, was shot. The other guys in the band end up singing the best songs like “Nothin’ to Lose”, or “Hard Luck Woman”. Peter wasted his best efforts on totally forgettable songs. By the time he gets to “Beth “, he’s faaqing around with the song as if he were Frank Sinatra. This wasn’t really a retirement but a forced way to try to end up on a decent note rather than just forgotten. KISS fans are a loyal and forgiving people to a fault. On a positive note, Peter’s exit from the stage was at least dignified despite his inability to carry a show, which is far more respectable than what we hear from syncin’ Stanley and meatball Gene.
You'd have thought a lot more effort to just learn words to a song would have been put in knowing that this was the last show....crazy.....makes no sense...
I dunno, it does sort of matter if it is degrading to his legacy. This was really hard to listen to, off key in many spots and just kinda corny. Sorry big supporters but this is not how you want to go out.
No matter how many Kats KISS puts behind the drum kit,Peter Criss will always be the original top Cat!!😸
Back in the Dynasty days my bro in law was a doorman at Peters building in NYC. He asked Peter for an autograph cuz his two younger bro in laws were big fans. Peter obliged. Steffen Nielsen he's been playing and singing in my ears for 35 years, love him
"Snowflake" how original of an insult. You should copyright that.
Charles B. We can tell you are a Paul Stanley worshiper nothing more pathetic than that I’d rather hang out with Peter in heaven then burn in hell with you and Paul better change your attitude.
Charles B. You mediocre dick. What do you know about music... Peter has the coolest voice. True rock’n’roll
@@Charlie_B. as you say with a mick mars pfp, a guitarist in a band that had 2 relevant albums at best.............
Thumbs up from me!!! Yes haters, he can still play the drums!! Peace out from the Southern Tip of Vancouver Island, B.C. CANADA

Holy Crap! This is the first time I ever witnessed Peter doing big band music, let alone this song right at the end, "Sing Sing Sing"!!! Nice job.
I was there, thank you Brian!!! Epic AF!!!
Thank You for capturing and sharing all of these great videos, Mike!
Thanks Matt......glad everyone is enjoying them!

this is very cool. thank you for sharing.
I bought 10 copies of the "Catman's" solo album on the very first day. I brush my teeth to KISS every morning.
Awesome job Peter Criss. Thank you for all the great memories.
I Love Kiss, and have done for 35+ years, but it is just so much more fun to listen to those obscure songs by each member than to go a Kiss Concert and see the over the top spectacle and listen to the same songs , over and over again !
Thanks for posting, I’ve seen other videos but none this good of quality
Thanks for your music and inspiration Peter, you're they original and only Catman. God bless you.
The horn line really adds to this, great sound. Especially on Strutter
Thats a cool live show of Peter and very jazzy, enjoyable
Awesome performance and great guy! Loved it!
I love this. Feels so good to see him "the catman" performance live again after all these years.

Love Peter Criss... He was an important part of KISS, I'd love to meet him one day
This is amazing. I never listened to his solo stuff since the couple dozen spins I gave them during the heydays. Now I was craving every one with the intros to each song. This performance was legendary and I now love his music as much as the KISS songs. Thank you Peter for showing so much class and love.
peter criss is and always will be remembered as the cat man performing with kiss.
He looked like he was having fun. The jazz encore was cool. That's the music that got him started.

The band sounds just phenomenal, even much more rock n roll than the current Kiss lineup. Also, the brass arrangements on Strutter sounds killer.

This is better than paul stanleys soul station
Peter is awesome period!
The one and only Catman. The best.
damn.....I wanted him to go on tour one more time but at least we'll have the memories
This is great but its clear that PC has forgotten most of the lyrics to I Can't Stop The Rain.
The true catman still has it in spades
Hey this is awesome! Didn't know Peter had this band! Thanx for the upload!!
Thanks for posting this! Love the "Real" Catman!
Kick drum sounds great.

Beth saved the band kiss
Damn! Sing! Sing! Sing! was a great touch . . . . he always praises Gene Krupa. I'm pretty sure Gene Krupa was the original drummer for SING SING SING - or at least the Benny Goodman version.
Krupa was the drummer on Goldman's version of SING SING SING.
BTW.. I'm a fan of Benny Goodman .
peter peter peter peter peter👏
Pete is great.
In the garage I feel save / no one cares about my ways
Great reference!
I've got Ace Frehley, I've got Peter Criss, waiting there for me,YES I do!

Everything I've heard from Ace Frehley band in last 2 or 3 yrs has been horrible!

I say peters last concert blows all the other kiss/ace concerts out of the water, great job Petey
The bass player is the most beautiful human being I’ve ever seen.
No lip synching here.
Pete was in the civil war. Give him a break

Only one word can describe this show…YIKES! And that’s being polite.
The 🐈 he was a rock star before all 3 of them he had two singles out in 1966 and did some stuff for kama sutra
Peter Criss is good singer
Strange Ways is awesome. Peter can play!
Nice to hear Strange Ways! Heaviest thing Kiss ever did!
did he screw up the first verse of i cant stop the rain?
Yes. He was completely overwhelmed in the moment. The rest of the night he was on the spot!
No,The drummer was off,So Peter stopped for a second until he caught up.
Pita ,pita :0
Great fuckin rock voice Dirty Living KIXX ass!!!
IT'S SUCH A SHAME PETER DIDN'T DO MUCH TOURING DURING THE 80S AND 90S. I WOULD'VE LOVED TO SEE HIM AS A SOLO ARTIST.
Peter is old and his voice is real bad but man I wish I was there!
his voice isn't bad at all
PETYERS VOICE WAS PERFECT WTH ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??? AND HE STILL IS A FANTASTIC DRUMMER TOO !!!!
Dirk van der Poel one day you’ll be old to and Peters voice is absolutely fine.

un dolor de huevos el show,,,🤦
It's not how good you are it's what you bring to a band peter is the drum sound of kiss
Did he bring out Suzi Quatro to sing "stumblin' in?" Oh waitl . . . . that wasn't him? :-)
Well, I guess he's had his days but this ain't one. Though he did sing Kiss' biggest hit - Beth.
George Hogart thanks for being respectful while giving your honest opinion, lots of people are acting like douche bags.
Who's the backup band?
Sisters Doll from Australia. I’m not sure who the horn players were.
This is better than Soul Station for those who think this s....
Too bad this wasn't all Jazz and Swing music.
Peter, Ace, Gene , and Paul the only kiss lineup I listened to or watched. After that it was meaningless
Kind of sad
Man, all I wanted to hear was Hard Luck Woman and he had his fucking back up drummer sing it.
Fail.
The left gitarist is that Evan Stanley?
Robert Peeters lol no
Nope
You'd have thought a lot more effort to just learn words to a song would have been put in knowing that this was the last show....crazy.....makes no sense...
Ace Frehley he didn’t have to do any shows at all, fans are lucky he even did 3 shows, cut the guy some slack he’s 73 years old.
Took a while before I realized this was supposed to be serious.
^troll
HOW DID IT TAKE YOU THAT LONG TO FIGURE OUT THIS WAS SERIOUS?? ..... YOU NEED TO PUT AWAY YOUR BONG MAN AND LAY OFF THE POT LOL
Gary THE FAM - aka DunkinJugger Easy Catman,THEY are serious.

Daniel by the way 😆
Peter was ok but the chorus voices a total disaster 🤦
Only a mediocre drummer.
says who? you? get lost.
