Hay Andy big thank you from HK! Been enjoying all your good works. Keep it up! Really nice to learn the Parma version of Cougar which I learned from RC Icons. God bless
Andy, great to see I wasn’t alone in my frustrations… and I haven’t got to the wing yet!! The circlips were nearly the end of my Schumacher relationship 🤣😂 Great video as always dude 👍🏻🙌🏻
Ha ha, yeah those circlips what a pain, a few fiddly bits, but each car and brand have their foibles. The transmission sounds lovely though when you get it running. Cheers for watching :)
Great to see 2 classic Schumacher buggies, especially the original one, awesome stuff!! If I had one the only thing I'd definitely change is the screws, swap the crosshead ones for hex head ones ;)
That Original Parma bodied cougar is so nice 👌 the new one seems to have a mix of cross head and hex head screws through out the kit , more cross head though. I’ll get a running video soon if the new cougar :) cheers mate
The rear hub carriers are original Schumacher Cougar Mk. 1. The shocks on that display buggy are so-called Vari shocks - very interesting concept. Looking fwd to the running video!
@@andyrobinsonrc2480 I don't think so, as the original Mk. 1 manual shows the round ones. I have a Club 10 which has those other hubs but Schumacher fitted Club 10s with whatever they had lying around, allegedly. I believe they were Cougar 2 hub carriers. The silver alloy dampers are original for the TC and Cougar Mk. 1. The Vari shocks were fitted to a variety of later Schumacher buggies incl. the Cougar Mk. 2, Fireblade, Bosscat Works and others.
Heating the plastic axle parts using a hair dryer or heating gun also helps putting them together. The oil weights were confusing or just off in the Top Cat rerelease as well if I remember correctly. Mounting the wing is just too fiddly, I very much agree, but the worst thing is that the o rings deteriorate over time, even if you have the buggy standing unused. My favorite RC brand nonetheless! Great video, as always!
Thank you glad you liked it. Yeah I did read about applying a bit of heat but I’d have still struggled lol , my wife managed it ok 👍 oil wise I went with 60wt front and 40wt rear, feels pretty nice so far. Besides the niggles it’s a cool buggy and I like it. Cheers for watching:)
Really enjoyed your video 😮 classic in the making lol top class 👏 it would be handy if you knew that car is a cougar club 10 not a 90 original lol there is a guy on RUclips that knows the original cars down to the screws and I'm not joking. Vintage schumacher rc this guy is a walking taking cougar nut lol
Yeah , I’ve been told. Few times it’s a club 10 but it just means it’s a more basic cougar. The chap who lent it me just said it was an ex display Car that Parma built and put their alley cat body on. Cheers for commenting and I’m glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for taking the time to watch it
Hi Martin, I was thinking that but unsure but the club 10 did come with an MSC. It’s pretty much a cougar other wise the big difference was the rear hubs and shock tower
Haha funny you say you wanna curse Schumacher! Not yet dude until you try to build his Cat you can curse more but then it’s a great great engineered machine which still tip top after couple decades.
Great video Andy, was good to catch up with you at the classic, the cougar 2 works was going great, i just to drive better 😂 are you going to fit the pro transmission ? If you want i can show you how to build the driveshafts easly 👍
Cheers Richard, yes was good to see you fella, just hope it’s not another year again. Yes I’d appreciate tips with building the driveshafts :) saying that because I have problems with my hands and arms it may not help anyway lol. Not sure if I’ll fit the PT yet not sure it’s worth it for the use it will get. My look at what muzoom have
Andy Robinson RC yeah hopefully not another year 😂 got revival in 3 weeks if your going ? Ive fitted it to mine but she’s gonna get used a lot, most of my cougars have the pro transmission now 😂 well i’ll see we can get building the drive shafts 👍
Another great video Andy! I was lucky to run a Parma body on my Cougar 2 back in the day. Look forward to a video of you running the there, the paint job on your Cougar looks good btw
Guy, to clarify the rear hubs are not original they are from the cougar II or later club 10. The rear motor cover should have top cat moulded into it. Also the 1990 cougar didn't have servo posts the servo was stuck in with double side tape. Plus your rear shock mount bracket is cougar club 10 🤔 your shocks are club 10, 100% not 1990 cougar, plus the chassis is incorrect shouldn't have holes for servo posts. Your 1990 cougar is a Franken-cougar 😮 looks like you have a later club 10 with a nice bodyshell it's not an original 1990 cougar sorry 😐 does look nice though 😉 plus the bodyshell is cougar II 😊
Cheers for the infirnation on the Parma display Schumacher cougar. From what the owner said it built by Parma and used as a display vehicle. Thanks for your insight much appreciated

Great Vid Andy, nice seeing both our cars together
Hey Paul hope you liked the video and I did your car justice. It’s a beautiful buggy. Thank you for letting me borrow it :)

The hubs on the Parma car are original Mk1 hubs? Are the Vari shocks off the club 10 spec cougar or were they an upgrade ? Thank you 🙏

Great overview of the cars Andy looks forward to see the classic cougar running.. may pick one of these up remember them from back in the day 🤩🤩
Hi Pete , well worth getting one, there’s a couple of fiddly bits to build, but it’s a very smart buggy, will get a running video soon I hope :)

Hey Andy, those look like some really epic builds. You've done them proud mate👍
Thank you , I can’t take credit it for the vintage cougar , but I’m pleased with the cougar re-release :)

Love the colour!
Thank you it’s Tamiya cobalt green :)
I think the car with the alley cat body is a Club 10 Cougar, they had red shocks and a mechanical speedo

Man do I ever hate assembling the driveshafts!
😆 a right pain aren’t they ;) besides that it was a nice build
@@andyrobinsonrc2480 agree..I’m also thinking of changing ball ends, but not a bad build when compared to the finicky top cat (front end)
Great Video Andy I'm dreading building mine now 🤣 X
Cheers Jenny, just wait to hear what I did to it when I first tested it in the back garden ;) there’s some fiddly bits but it’s a nice buggy xx
@@andyrobinsonrc2480 look forward to seeing next video x
Andy the original cougar had the same shocks as the re re
Cheers Lee :) some said the shocks on the display car were called Vari shocks ? New to me.
@@andyrobinsonrc2480 yeah that's right I believe
Hi the Parma car looks like a couger2 sport to me
I think it’s a club 10 with various upgrades built by Parma as a display car originally . I’m going off eBay the owner told me :)
First LOL. Not sure what this is a thing but FIRST! ;)
Ha ha , I’ve never understood that either commenting first, ah well ;)

Hiya, cheers fella. Parma did some lovely body shells, running video hopefully soon. Glad you like the paint colour but if a one can special ;)
Great video, is the chassis the same as the Top cat?
It’s the same chassis pan as the top cat there might be a couple of different holes, it’s pretty much the same though
Is that cobalt green?
It is indeed :) lovely colour
@@andyrobinsonrc2480 I’m thinking of doing my Optima Turbo in cobalt and white. It is a cool colour
