Best shocks I have ever built, smooth as glass. I love it mate, but I love the Top Cat too! I love the ball diffs too as they are super reliable and very efficient. I'm also a massive fan of the belt drive system!!
Finished the chassis and electronics build on mine today. Agree with the comments on the UJs and shock circlips - tricky! Otherwise a nice build. I actually managed to pick up several hop-ups while waiting for the kit to come so good to fit them during build rather than after. So mine's got Pro Transmission, alloy eccentrics, alloy lipo posts, JC Racing neon yellow spoked wheels, Schumacher mini-dart tyres and titanium turnbuckles. Just need to do the body in the same colours (black/neon yellow) as the Cougar I had in '92/93.

Just built my kit and the manual states 550cst front 400cst rear for the shocks. But I got 400cst and 350cst in the kit box. I ended up using the recommended oils from the leftover of my shcumacher LD2 and found that the front is now really bouncy and has slow rebound. Could it possibly be that they knew and thats why they supplied the lower cst oils with the kit? Did you have the same rated oils with your kit?
Nice Video! I'm sure the Cougar performs better, the more bumpy the track is! I like my Topcat Re-Release more, but my Cougar Re-Release arrived yesterday😅 As a collector I need it...😉
This body has some nice lines that flow well so you can mix it up really easily for sure. I like the body design but I’m not sold on the canopy window as it’s a bit fat and on the big side. I’m picking as it’s only a small thing.
And I just had a thought. How about a disassembly/rebuild of a true classic, such as an RC10 gold chassis machine? All us oldies would watch that, and youngsters in their 30's would be interested to see the differences between that and a latest version. (especially the old strange servo saver steering thingy that Associated came up with.) OK, 🤦 now I've watched your RC10 rebuild video! 😅

I've been watching your video's and some from here in the US and some people are not favorable to Schumacher. Me well I kinda like Schumacher. I'm torn between the Schumacher Cougar and Associated RC 10. I have a oldie but goodie Schumacher XR-T Nitro .21. yes it still runs it has a Thunder tiger .21 in it. What do you think of this oldie but goodie?
Extend the front kickback bolts to take one end of the shock and the other end goes to the outer mounting of the push rod to lay the shock down on the front of each side
@@RCKickschannel it was just wheel and a different front bumper from memory there rear shock towers had been modified to take body posts. the cougar 200 was a ground up redesign.

Some guy called Charlie who "hits it!!" Personally preferred the more straightforward genuine Gavin approach but then at the end of the day if you don't like it then don't watch I suppose. Guy whats that motor cover 🤮 mine has "Top Cat" on it ! Whats with the servo posts 🤮 take them out and get that servo stuck down with double sided tape lol

100% agree on the upgrades. Much better to do them on the build.

Love the Cougar...When I started racing RC in the 80's I wanted to go with Schumacher but I couldn't get parts for it over here in the USA easily
Part access is key for racing or it stops being fun real fast.

Yep the Cougar came out in a few flavours. Cougar, Cougar 2, Cougar 2 Works, Cougar Club 10 and I’m sure one or two others I guess.
