    i lived at the end of a 10km dirt road for a bit and in the winter it turned into an ice road and it was a ton of fun to take the ktm 530 with sheet metal screw studs into town, to stop the studs from poking holes in the tube i took an old tube slit it open around the inside then put it between the tire and good tube, the sheet metal screws did round over and pull out on the rear tire

    It's been snowing here in PA for over a week now, and I'm going riding tomorrow with my buddy, zero studs 😅 He's on a quad and i'll be on my 250f. On a bright side, I have a brand new Dunlop AT82 tire on, so we'll see how it goes 🤓 Great video man!

      @ we’re in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, but the last good snow was 2018 at right around 14in, other than we get a dusting, or 2-3in every now and again, but it all melts in 2 days, or less😫😆

      Let's trade homes 🏡 I live in Pennsylvania. You can have this crap hole of a state with its 7 months of cold weather and I will take Nascar country

    Studded tires would be a great idea for the TOO long Pennsylvania winters. I always wanted to put paddle tires on and ride sand like the videos from Glamis, but I don't think I will ever have the opportunity to do so

    Studded Michelin AC10 is probably the best one out there. Mitas'es are a bit harder in compound and can get chunks chewed off them from hitting rocks :) Sure the Michelins can rip aswell but they have even more grip in the snow and ice AND are waaaay easier to install due to being more flexible.

    Sheet metal screws round off too quickly and pull out...biggest Benny with tapcons is the prolonged tire life(great point). Grip Studz, Kold Kutters or Pre studded by pneumatic gun like Mitas. Fun video

      Just found out abt grip studz today actually! Looks like something I’d like to try out in the future. Just pretty pricey at like $130-$150 for just one set for a single tire haha
      But they look like they’d hold really nicely with that big auger thing

    hey soup moto ! so i’m 13 5’7 and 190 pounds my friend thinks i should get a Kx100 but i think i want a yz125 it will be my second ever bike and it will be my first 2 stroke ive been riding for a year and i am riding a ttr 125 4 stroke right now what do you think ?

    • @notsoupmoto
      @notsoupmoto  9 дней назад

      Either bike is a good choice. The kx100 will help you learn the power delivery of two strokes and build confidence better than the 125 since it’s much smaller and more manageable. The downside is, as you grow, you’ll definitely be moving up to a 125 or 250 four stroke next, so you really just have to ask yourself whether or not you want to sacrifice the confidence you’ll get on the 100 for not having to sell and buy another bike down the road.
      100s rip man! I had a cr85 before I moved up to a 125 and it’s a big jump. The 100 is a nice happy medium

    Soup, I need opinions: me (13 yo) rides an 85 on motocross tracks but I do not have my bike and I just rent it cuz I don’t have the money to buy it, also in Italy trail riding requires a license and registered vehicle which I would be getting at 14 as a 50cc (then mod it balls crazy to push like a 125) but I could also wait 16 to get a 125 and buy it before at maybe 14/15 and register it at 16, so what do I buy, also for the 50cc bikes that I would mod I was looking for example at the beta rr 50 or the fantic 50 enduro, so can you suggest me what to do

    • @notsoupmoto
      @notsoupmoto  29 дней назад +1

      If you’re interested in learning how to work on bikes and modify them then purchasing a 50cc now and modding it, if it’s affordable for you might be a cool idea!
      That’s unfortunate that bikes have to be registered for trail riding there :(

      You should add trials to your riding style. Trials is very popular in your country as I'm sure you know. Here in the USA there's very little trials events and you have to travel hundreds of miles to one of the few dealerships that inport trials bikes. I ride a gasgas trials bike and a ktm enduro. Im old enough to be your grandpa lol. I'm 60 and will ride as long as my body let's me

      Honestly thank you, im still trying to find a way to sneak without registration (but im not sure if ill find the way) cuz in italy there is a special enforcements for public woods called “guardia forestale” and they are usually only in some places so i might find a way, for trials i might try as it sounds kinda fun

      @@066motocrossI know it is very popular in fact trials bikes are the only bikes that for some reason police does not care about the being registered and just go random in wood as i have seen many while biking, honestly sounds kinda fun and i am willing to try, so thank you 😀

    These tires have a tube, 2 worn out street tires inside and 500, 1 1/2” cold cutters. Fredette made.

    I'd be worried about those sheet metal screws coming out and punching through my tire and into my tube. That would be my luck.
