  • V2 of the Mini Talon with reshaped fuselage, wings and tail. Much better access inside. Foam is softer than the original but construction seems OK for strength and stiffness. Flight testing soon.

    the new one has a fuselage of wale i guess and "mini" is not the best description cause you fighting with both of these planes make you look mini but not these planes ... the plane is really huge ... at least compared to zohd mini talon evo i have. but you got a kind of manual or set of instructuions you were able to read or understand so that looks great to me.
    the ailerons seems to gotten a bit more to the end and therefore should have a better leverage.
    i also like the soundtrack during the build procedure a lot.

    Would love to see a direct comparison once you've done all the normal bits if you can. Not necessarily a spreadsheet breakdown but I'd love a few comparative numbers, speed, cruise speed/efficiency, AUW, battery weight used to balance, stall speed, ease of launch etc. Basically, does it fly faster/slower, heavier/lighter or more/less efficient?

Turn the bottom tail fin into Feet and the V-tail into Tail Feathers ........ It will almost look like a Bird ! .......... Next they need to develop Low Noise Motors and Props ...... Sell it in various Sizes ...... Different species Designs ........ You'll be able to Fly Anywhere !

    I wish they'd done some work around FPV camera mounts, it seems odd for them to not do anything at all. With things like the AR Wing's multiple action camera nose pieces you would think a new Talon would acknolwdge that.

    Cant wait to see how this one flies Andrew particularly when run heavy! The design seems compromised. Very short moment arm (pitch sensitive C&G ) and minimal Ailerons suggest excessive movement required and will be draggy.

      Yes, short moment arm is the down side of this design

    I’ve had a Skywalker X6 and have an FX61 that has seen better days. I’ve been looking for a new FPV plane to make use of a handful of 5200mah 4S multistar packs I already have. I also have 4 x 3000mah 4S zippy packs i used to double up in the X6.

    • @AndrewNewton
      @AndrewNewton  3 года назад +1

      I haven't flown the full size Talon, but these are easy as long as you dont load them up too much.

    • @spyder000069
      @spyder000069 3 года назад +1

      Both the mini talon and regular talon are great flying planes but they are not meant to float around the air. They are efficient but need to keep the speed up. They cover ground much faster than a wing and penetrate the wind much better too. Once you have had a little time behind the sticks with them they are very predictable and you get over the hot landings as they glide through the grass without getting damaged.

    I personally can't see why anyone would want this new talon as a general FPV plane. The fuselage is not designed in a way that nicely accommodates forward facing cameras of any kind, whether that's the FPV camera or a HD/4K camera for footage.
    Anyone who gets this plane with the intention of hacking the living crap out of the nose to fit a camera, or simply wants to somehow attach a prefabricated "FPV deck" on top of the extremely streamlined fuselage would be better off just buying a Mini Talon.
    They've missed the mark by a long shot with this model. What a disappointment, and certainly NOT a Mini Talon V2 by any stretch of the imagination.

    I see quite some differences with the one i got on the pre-order, you have decals and instructions, i don't, and on the pre-order version the motor mount is just a glassfibre x-piece, no round top plate as on your version. And the Uhu Por i have should be applied to both surfaces, let it sit for 5-10 minutes and then press firmly together. How you use it might work, but that's not the way it's intended.
