- V2 of the Mini Talon with reshaped fuselage, wings and tail. Much better access inside. Foam is softer than the original but construction seems OK for strength and stiffness. Flight testing soon.

Hindenburg with wings!!
Ha! Yes it does have that look. Zeppelin paint scheme might be required
Nice assembly video! I'm looking forward to the Maiden Flight! It looks fast anyway ;-) See you in the Air!
I appreciate it when you post the building process. I always learn something.
Looks like a lot of design elements are similar to the mini goose... the hatches, the short/deep ailerons, that weird strap across the top, the wing shape. Thank you Andrew... love your videos.
Interesting observation thanks
Thank you, Andrew, for introduction. Always watch your videos with big interest.
My pleasure!
I'm glad I waited to put it together. I didn't get instructions. LOL!
Instructions are not much use but I will scan them post somewhere
The french suite is by my favorite! So beautiful! Goes well with your diy art here
Thank you! 😊
Thx Andrew. Nice first look.
I have the original Mini Talon, always found it difficult to launch by hand, so now use a bungy. Look forward to your flight video.
I heard you have to launch it level to get airspeed over the control surfaces before pulling up. But bungee works!
It looks like an American football with wings.
looks like a bloody flying bomb if you ask me ! The V3
Another must have!! great vid Andrew
hmmmmmmmmmm.......
I'm kinda liking the original more tbh. The easier hatch access on this one is nice though.
Looks like your Homeslice 3 had an affair with a Mini Talon at home
I think the Mini Talon cult following is safe, but let's see when it's in the air
BoxTal coming soon? Nice job Andrew. I think you need to have a garage sale otherwise you are going to run out of space
This seems like it would be really stable in flight 👍
Appreciate your reviews Andrew. Very informative and well produced 👍
Glad you like them!
That's a fat Fuz Andrew, pleased they gave it you first, an honest basic overview as usual and flown at bare minimum weight..Looks nice, the soft foam issue needs addressing though, kudos for pointing it out...🤔🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧⛄⛄⛄
I think it's called the Fat Soldier on AliExpress
You must be so eager to take it out for a first test!
Never a fan of the mini talon, this new one looks nicer, happy new year Andrew
Merry Christmas andrew
Interesting new take, thanks! Hope you had a Merry Xmas and a happy new year!
Same to you
Magnificent background music Sir Andrew! Happy New Year Sir! Your Vlogs always proved to be educational as well as soothing to the soul for us hobbyists. Thank You..
Many thanks Raffman
can you please do a introduction to fpv planes? explain the system parts and how they work with each other? i’m sure a crowd is also wondering how this all works. thanks so much andrew
Check my FPV playlist.
Merry Xmas to you Andrew. Looks pretty cool. Have a good new year mate. 👍🏴
Thanks, you too!
the new one has a fuselage of wale i guess and "mini" is not the best description cause you fighting with both of these planes make you look mini but not these planes ... the plane is really huge ... at least compared to zohd mini talon evo i have. but you got a kind of manual or set of instructuions you were able to read or understand so that looks great to me.
the ailerons seems to gotten a bit more to the end and therefore should have a better leverage.
i also like the soundtrack during the build procedure a lot.
thumbs up number 156 from here
Ding, Andrew you made me pull out my credit card again.............very soon ! Why I am always watch yr channel ???
Ha! Need to ration your viewing
Ooooooh, I think this video might be popular.
Would love to see a direct comparison once you've done all the normal bits if you can. Not necessarily a spreadsheet breakdown but I'd love a few comparative numbers, speed, cruise speed/efficiency, AUW, battery weight used to balance, stall speed, ease of launch etc. Basically, does it fly faster/slower, heavier/lighter or more/less efficient?
Direct comparison is the plan
OMG!....... What the ???
What r these guys smokin 😳
How BIG a Fuselage do they need
That would fit a damn car battery in it
Im affraid i cant see them selling too many of those
Prob put in the same bin as the tip stalling egg you flew a few months back 🤣 but who knows 🤔
Agreed .
It will fly better than the Eggloader but it is chubby
I think that like most of us after months of lockdown and Christmas, that fuse needs to go on a diet. It's nice to have space for gear, but I don't think anyone's going to feel cramped here.
It's more bird-like in proportions ....... Good Idea ! .... it will Blend in and be more Stealthy ! .......... Paint some Feathers on it ! ... Turn the bottom tail fin into Feet and the V-tail into Tail Feathers ........ It will almost look like a Bird ! .......... Next they need to develop Low Noise Motors and Props ...... Sell it in various Sizes ...... Different species Designs ........ You'll be able to Fly Anywhere !
whoa wait! where did you get that star wars screw driver thingy....I think I need one of those, very flash.
just found your other Vid telling us all about it....thankyou.
Very nice 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓
It has got the looks of a submarine 😂
how does the box fly? 😁
Too heavy unfortunately
When I get better at flying I will get that . I would epoxy glass cover it . I always at least glass the leading edges on all my foamers. . Foam dents and gashing get to me . Isn't volantex foam amazing ! Must be a secret formula ! I like the piano , calms my nerves !)
Dont know why they would think softer foam would be acceptable
I wish they'd done some work around FPV camera mounts, it seems odd for them to not do anything at all. With things like the AR Wing's multiple action camera nose pieces you would think a new Talon would acknolwdge that.
I assume it's to keep the cost low. I'm betting price will fall eventually
I think you’re right about it looking like a Goblin.
Not sure about those rubber straps though. Its great that companies are trying other ideas. But to me that just seems awkward, and will add an obstacle to the opening.
Andrew, do you find that painters tape better than regular masking tape for holding models together?
That's just the least useful tape I had to hand, keeping the normal masking tape for the 3D printer bed.
great job dude did you know gravity centre of x uav talon pro
Yes, it's in the video
I like the plane a lot. Too bad it's on the expensive side.
Nice plane sir, i wish i have this one.
So please build the copy with those cardboard sir ✌️😁
Too thick and heavy unfortunately
Cant wait to see how this one flies Andrew particularly when run heavy! The design seems compromised. Very short moment arm (pitch sensitive C&G ) and minimal Ailerons suggest excessive movement required and will be draggy.
Yes, short moment arm is the down side of this design
I’ve had a Skywalker X6 and have an FX61 that has seen better days. I’ve been looking for a new FPV plane to make use of a handful of 5200mah 4S multistar packs I already have. I also have 4 x 3000mah 4S zippy packs i used to double up in the X6.
Do we think I could use those battery options with this? : )
Perfect for big batteries, my setup is testing the minimum weight needed
I had a full size Talon. I found it very hard to control and it tip stalled. I could not recover and it smashed into hard ground. The only thing left was the wing. Are these smaller Talons easier to fly?
I haven't flown the full size Talon, but these are easy as long as you dont load them up too much.
Both the mini talon and regular talon are great flying planes but they are not meant to float around the air. They are efficient but need to keep the speed up. They cover ground much faster than a wing and penetrate the wind much better too. Once you have had a little time behind the sticks with them they are very predictable and you get over the hot landings as they glide through the grass without getting damaged.
@@spyder000069 bad stall behavior?
Nice but different music🤔
I personally can't see why anyone would want this new talon as a general FPV plane. The fuselage is not designed in a way that nicely accommodates forward facing cameras of any kind, whether that's the FPV camera or a HD/4K camera for footage.
Anyone who gets this plane with the intention of hacking the living crap out of the nose to fit a camera, or simply wants to somehow attach a prefabricated "FPV deck" on top of the extremely streamlined fuselage would be better off just buying a Mini Talon.
They've missed the mark by a long shot with this model. What a disappointment, and certainly NOT a Mini Talon V2 by any stretch of the imagination.
I think it's designed to be modded. The internal structures allow for belly cam and nose cut out
Not sure about this one .
So what football size is it XXL
XXL + wings
this one is less suitable for FPV than the V1 Mini Talon
Must be designed with mods and hacking in mind
Shipping to OZ. $52.52 cough cough. Old talon free shipping from banggood???
Cough...AliExpress....Cough
I see quite some differences with the one i got on the pre-order, you have decals and instructions, i don't, and on the pre-order version the motor mount is just a glassfibre x-piece, no round top plate as on your version. And the Uhu Por i have should be applied to both surfaces, let it sit for 5-10 minutes and then press firmly together. How you use it might work, but that's not the way it's intended.
It seems to me that Andrew does it right, just edits out the 5-10mins wait :-)
@@stevietee10 The pins made me think he directly puts the two pieces together without the wait.
@@HermyH66 You don't have to wait, this glue contains a solvent. Besides, it's huge and wet gluing is easier to get the joins to close.
Both methods work perfectly well, but I needed some alignment time rather than instant grip.
Lovely🔥❤👌👍
So they made the plane for a guy with Incredible Hulk type hands!
I'm off to buy some grip tape.
does the esc get hot inside the fuselage?
It would at continuous full throttle
@@AndrewNewton good to know , I'm building mine this weekend , I guess I better 3d print some air scoups to cool off things inside the fusalage
Where i can buy this ? Price ??
Try the link
very steep price tag compared to what the old Mini talon did cost. About 3x the price. Hard pass for me
I still have an original. One of the best FPV craft ever.
@@AndrewNewton yes also have one lying at home not yet assembled. Def need to try it one day. Sad to see that it got cancelled though
The V2 looks like some of a suicide kamikaze drone. Looks like artillery shell. The V1 all the way over The V2.
Talon pro = ugly plane
