"Andromeda!" "Oh? you're approaching me? Instead of running away, you're coming right to me? Even your grandfather, M32 told you the secret of my Dark Matter? Like an exam student scrambling to finish the problems on an exam until the last moments before the chime?" "I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer." "Oh ho, then come as close as you want!"
I find it interesting how the size of galaxies follow a logorithm of 2. Andromeda is twice as big as the Milky Way Galaxy and Triangular Galaxy is half as big as the Milky Way Galaxy and the Large Magellanic Cloud Galaxy is half the size of the Triangular Galaxy.
The Local Group are the only galaxies that will stay with us forever. Their combined gravity is stronger than the push of the universe's expansion. So until the Heat Death of the Universe, these galaxies will be here with us forever. They're our family so to say. Every other group will drift away past the event horizon. It's not like Humanity would even be able to expand out of our galaxy either. But Andromeda and friends will eventually combine with our galaxy to form one giant galaxy in the far future. It's kinda sweet TBH if I'm anthropomorphizing.
I feel that the Local Group is almost like a Trinary Star System? There's two "regions of large collection of mass" that kinda orbit each other. The Milky Way side and the Andromeda-Triangular side. The Milky Way side is definitely the "junior" here. It's like a the Alpha Centauri System but on a much larger scale. Proxima orbits Alpha and Beta and they both have their own collective sub regions of control.
I am currently in Planet Earth in the Solar System in the Milky Way in the Local Group in the Virgo Supercluster in the Laniakea Supercluster in the Pisces-Cetus Supercluster Complex in the Universe
Just like with the Milky Way Galaxy, you need a really dark place with a a chance for very clear night skies in order to even have a glimpse of it This was a reply to another guy, but it's also relevant for your case
Mistakes: That’s just the isophotal diameter. The actual diameter may smaller or bigger 1. Milky way is 100,000 light years 2. Andromeda is 220,000 light years 3. Lmc is 14,000 light years 4. Ngc 3109 is 3,946 light years
Also, I beg to differ on the "Galaxies are not tasty" thing--ever seen a "Milky Way" candy bar? (ba-dum-tish!) It's quite edible, unless of course you're allergic to one or more ingredients in it. Or just don't like them. :P See also: Mars Bars. :) (Edit: I have just been informed (by Wikipedia, which I should've checked first) that a Mars Bar IS a Milky Way bar; they're just called by different names in the U.S. vs. the Everywhere Else.)
The thing is andromeda is not elimating milky way, both are doing to each other , despite being nearly twice as wide, its mass is only 25 % more, which means its less dense , so yeah both galaxies are going to have their structures completly F-ed
Sorry, but I have an issue with you setting the diameter of the Milky Way to 90k light years. This is not correct. As of now, we do not know the exact size of our galaxy with estimation range from 90k up to 200k light years (as published in a paper back in 2018 suggest, there are stars at a distance of more than 26 kpc from the center of the Milky Way). 26 kps as a radius would imply the Milky Way having a diameter of at least 170k light years. The paper even said there were stars found at 31 kpc or 101k light years from its center.
2:00 definitely will be doing that by car thank you

A rare astronomy channel that doesn't bore me for real.
i love astronomy so none of them bore me
and then theres bright side
Kurzgesagt is one hell of a channel (birb)
“are galaxies tasty?”
“no”
“oh, that’s disappointing”
OMG !
Aww I really wanted to taste a food that is out of this world
*ba dum chhh*
Cuzco they will burn ur tongue to a crisp
No, they are.
i ate a 100,000 light year galaxy and it tasted like chocolate milk mixed with vanilla icecream /j
If I''m going to anthropomorphize I find it cool that we have the "Big Three Brothers" and their small brothers.
Yeah and the future "fight" between Mily Way and Andromeda would be awesome
Did u know? The center of the milky way has a cloud of chemicals that give raspberries their taste?
Liar liar pants on fire

Andromeda literally heading towards our very own galaxy to collide:
that‘s why it‘s warm
it will be a very peaceful collision because the chance of any stars touching is very low

What software do you use to make your videos?
This video needs to get 10,000,000 light views
Haha.
