First off, you totally nailed this dude. The build looks amazing. And second off, this is just a great video. There's no over-the-top over enthusiastic douchebag screaming at you about how awesome what they're doing is. Just a dude in his workshop enjoying his craft. Thank you for that.
I'm 3d printing a custom original Mandalorian helm I designed at the moment, I thought I'd done well. But watching this I realise how far I still have to go. This is an amazing video and your work is next level impressive. I'd love to try and convert my designed from plastic into Aluminium one day if I ever get a bigger workshop and all the tools to do it. Keep up the amazing work pal. This is a exquisite piece, really inspiring
The helmet looks amazing you are a master craftsman and worthy of the title Armorer. She has a sexy sounding voice this lady, and also nice to look at so to speak when the helmet is off, Emily Swallow is also quite funny in a lot of her interviews also a major plus.
Great video! Files tricks- (1)run some of your kids chalk on the files to keep them from clogging up with aluminum, (2)new out of the box files should be used first on brass to hone and remove manufacturing burrs before being used on steel, (3)and lastly try to avoid storing files where they can bang and rub up against each other, make sleeves for them with manila folder and stapler.
Exceptional work, I know this video is long, but it is criminally underviewed. Inspiring to watch and to learn some new skills. This was a great watch, thanks for sharing it!
Been subbed for a while but haven't had time to watch because I've been building. Anyway loved this one! What I did for texture on mine was just hammered paint from rustoleum, then the gold on top, then weathered to death! lol Your glue/paint mix looked like tar almost, very cool idea! The end result is nuts.
You should collaborate with someone who can really paint. It will make what you already did so well to the next level!. Awesome build! Very impressive. But the end product can be better.
I made one out of Armaflex rubber sheets at work once. As a Union Insulator, I could lay anything out and form it with hand tools. Any metal thicker than lagging is a different story.
TheWeldingGeek that’s awesome. Can’t wait. As a welder fabricator myself. No where’s as good as you. You use a lot of tool that I don’t use. Would like to know what they are. Like that awesome rotating hole punch(only the most badass tool ever seen.). Maybe one day I can get a few.
love this helmet. I would love to have this one than the Mandalorian. cus I blacksmith as a hobby. (dont know who she saw, but "Jazza" drew with his son for his birthday during this CV thing and couldn't have his friends over) this was last month.
Double Cut files work in both directions. Pro Tip: rub your file over sidewalk chalk from the dollar store. This prevents the file from being clogged and may offer some lubrication, clean the file often and reload with chalk.
She made a chibi, and it's very cool. I play a lot of ARK, and they've introduced a lot of chibis recently. Players would go crazy for a Mando chibi ! (just search ARK chibi if you have no idea what I'm talking about.)
just putting this out there, heating up metal to a certain temp then running a brass wire wheel over the heated surface will make make the piece look like brass i dont know if it works on alu tho
Beautiful job you probably have an amazing collection, you should do a vid on that. Any thoughts on doing a Revan helmet , it is Mandalorian in origin! And before I get slammed for it being a mask....it’s a thing of legend....so it can be whatever we perceive it to be! Maybe it started as a helmet on the original Mandalorian.....
i need a visor for my helmet. i was looking for some smoked acryllic. but it is impossible to find in my country without it costing a fortune. what can you reccomend me
I had the same Problem and I just used a thin black fabric sandwiched between two peaces of transparent overhead foil. Works for me! (And it's a LOT cheaper...)
I good budget option is to look for window tint film and get a clear face guard to add it to. Although clear face guards are PPE and might be in high demand for more important uses at the moment in most areas.
@@G33v3s i had thought about going that route also. and yes the demand for face guards and in general any transparent plastic that can be used to make ppe is very high. so i have decided to wait it out, other people need it more than me, and if me waiting a couple of months to buy a piece of plastic helpes the situation and maby even helps save lives i dont mind waiting.
Watched every minute. You are an artist and a craftsman, well done.

This is just a masterpiece, could a 501st helmet be a future project?
This is the Way!

You are an amazingly talented craftsman… That is a superb piece of work 👌
A true artist at work.
Love watching the vids, and glad to see your food choices are excellent as well with the Chick-Fil-A.
Would love a video of how you make templets.
You should collaborate with someone who can really paint. It will make what you already did so well to the next level!. Awesome build! Very impressive. But the end product can be better.
You do amazing work. Wish I had your resources and skills.
Hell yeah I was waiting fot that for weeks.

This is so awesome!! You are insanely good!
WOW ! Do you sell your creations?
I made one out of Armaflex rubber sheets at work once. As a Union Insulator, I could lay anything out and form it with hand tools. Any metal thicker than lagging is a different story.
Definitely used a beader 10,000 times before
Great work!

What no Lazer cutter? Lol good work! Looks epic! May the 4th be with you!
😁👍 awesome man 👏👏👏👏👏
This is the way.
I cant believe i sat here at work and watched this entire video. Is this your job? like is it a workshop?
Wicked awesome!! 👏
Wow, your daughter is really talented.
Love your videos. Asking for one thing. Can you show the tools you use and explain what your doing with them and why. Thanks you.
I actually have been doing a series of videos on all the tools I’ve been using not done with series yet but that’s where I’m putting that info

it looks amazing. how do you know which lines to cut after and which ones to bend and such
Looks like the pain and struggle paid off! Looks great

Would love to commission a mandalorian helmet. These are amazing
Can you share the templates?
Great content.

i dont know if it works on alu tho
you totally need to have these laser cut and sell them as a diy kit, or even at least the paper templates. beautiful work by the way.
Wow this turned out phenomenal! Can I ask what exactly you did for the black and brown wash?
Watered down black and brown acrylic paint
Will you share your templates for your builds?
"Abrupt cut to me standing here"... " mighty al-gory-ithim" lol, seriously though I think shorter is better. Imho
the Like is for the awsome drawing!
do you sand blast it throughout the build so that its easier to see the shaping?
what is the software you used for making the template?
I wonder if all in universe armorers have golden/bronze looking helmets.
Cosplayers: keeping the welding industry going.
Hey I got a Helmet I designed, I was wondering if you were up making it in Aluminum?
You should make your own armorers helmet based off the style and color of hers.
Matt, any chance of seeing you build a 2012 Judge Dredd Helmet?
Amazing!
Do you do comissions?
This is the way.
Beautiful job you probably have an amazing collection, you should do a vid on that.

That will be my next video I did it in mask form I’m building a Jedi knight revan
Dude you need to get into making props for movies especially for Disney Star Wars sagas...
what thickness is your aluminum?
Do you sale your helmets
I have an English wheel but I can't get a dome anywhere close to looking like that.
freaking badass!
Too cool
i need a visor for my helmet. i was looking for some smoked acryllic. but it is impossible to find in my country without it costing a fortune. what can you reccomend me
Ive seen people use old welding masks
I had the same Problem and I just used a thin black fabric sandwiched between two peaces of transparent overhead foil. Works for me! (And it's a LOT cheaper...)

Please do the armourers hammer
You are the armorer. I didnt realize files only worked downward
Nice
Would you ever make a helmet from dark souls ?
Do the Falconer or Celtic Predator mask! That would be a challenging and impressive build to make those weird shapes!
Dude be building this on his lunch breaks
hes like the Jesse James of cosplay. Dude can work metal like Jesse but uses it for a different application.
Now put it on and never take it off. (you know what comes next)
Dude Boba Fett or the Mandalorian helmet not the armorer
Even heavy infantry please
