As a former teacher I’m sorry you had that experience with bad teachers. They’re definitely out there. While in school & in training teachers generally won’t receive the proper education to diagnose dyslexia unless they go into special education. A good teacher will see the signs there’s possibly something wrong. But that’s still no excuse to call you stupid. I’ve worked with both special needs children & adults and they were the best experiences of my life. I’m glad you were tested and now you’re able to recognize areas where you struggle. This is true, however, dyslexia is not a medical problem. I hv dyslexia both with letters and numbers. I sometimes reverse letters. Sometimes numbers out of order, or read a sentence out on order, also sometimes misinterpret the meaning of a sentence and need to reread several times. It’s taught me to trouble shoot and come up with creative ways in problem solving. I do understand your point, being, everyone has something and there is no shame in that. ❤

I have dyslexia also, but I've always been very smart and my IQ is very high. Once I figured out how I learn, I was able to adapt. I'm thirty five now and went back to college last year and I make all A's. Obstacles make you stronger. I love North. She's so unique and has an amazing personality. In my eastern european school in the '90s was a boy that had dyslexia, my teacher was violent towards him bcs of that every single day of school, he was punished every single day for his dyslexia , I am sure that there still are parts of Europe where that still happens and this is so heartbreaking for me. I will never forget that injustice.

It's not something she should be ashamed about tho, but people in the internet are unreasonable so it's understandable to not tell people about anything private

Dyslexia is not a learning disability it is a learning difficulty and they are different, disability affects a person's intelligence,a difficulty does not.
