It has to be 2.1 .. not 2.0 an u have to make sure the Cable is 2.1 too. An TV an the series x. U need a TV with at least 600 nits of brightness to achieve 120 hrz at 4 k

The Series S plain as it looks,aesthetically, looks better than the PS5/Series X. If only the S could get native 4K at a $350 price point it would be more gamers go to just off of travel convenience.

Really comes down to your tv and how it handles things. My Samsung qled is ok with the xss. The xsx and ps5 look much better on the Samsung qled. On my msi monitor the S looks really good. On my other qled tv a tcl s5 the S looks much better than on the Samsung. Probably comes down to how they handle upscaling
