Engine 1 responded to a 1050 with injuries at Leesville Rd and I-540 WB. A driver lost consciousness while driving south on Leesville Rd, drove into oncoming traffic, over the street curb, off the side of the 540 overpass, across three lanes of traffic, and into the median guardrail. A 72 yo female and 1 yo male patient were extricated.

What is it with you small-town hick fire departments and running the electronic and the Q at the same time? Are you super excited to be getting a call? Just got to make all the noise you can huh? Showing off for the the camera? I watch some of you small-town guys and half the time you're honking at nothing blasting both sirens, keeping the fucking Q peged the floor when there's nobody else on the damn road, what the hell?
I call it the fireman billy mentality, you don't get much action so when you do it's fireman billy time... WEE WOO WEE WOO HERE I COME I'M MR SAVE YOU MAN, WEE WOO MAKING LOTS OF NOISE MAKING LOTS OF NOISE.

Eh, a lot of departments in my state use Iamresponding,, but yeah, a lot of us still also use pagers where rural cell service isn't great. Rockin' the Minotor V (no playback sadly)
Cool vid, It is always awesome to see the look on peoples faces as you respond against traffic, especially in a situation like this when you have to hit a off ramp onto the highway. Great job.

If this was in GTA V the minute the driver went onto the wrong lane all the cars would have been blaring their horns and purposefully trying to crash into you. Gotta love the realism of the game! But on a serious note, awesome video! That's some serious driving skill!

The men (and women) who drive fire appliances have awesome skills. I remember seeing one go past me and then round a roundabout. I do not think I could go round it in a (normal family) car over 20Mph. It went past well over 30, did not slow down, and left multiple black tyre marks behind. Not skid-marks,, as it was not skidding, just rubber stuck to the road. I remember thinking 'how fast? Successfully? In that! Respect!'

saw an engine a few weeks ago miss the exit twice to get on the other side of the highway instead of doing this. must have sucked to be the people needing their help watching them drive by twice on the wrong side of the road
Here doing some research on how smooth of a ride these are. I plan on taking off the bed and making an RV out of it. My wife says I just want to drive around in a fire truck LOL. And she's not far off the mark lol.

No in real life on my Ninja ZX-14R, custom turbo 220hp low boost. Supposed to be able to go 230mph but the quality of the roads are so bad to go over 200mph here.
Spectacular driving skills
Not many units went to that call, considering it was an accident with entrapment. In my county an accident with a possible entrapment gets 2 engine's 2 special services (truck, tower, rescue), 1 medic (2 if the call is on the highway), 1 battalion, 1 EMS supervisor, and a command aide. Great video though!

For people not bothered to know...HIPPA regulations prevent firefighter, cops, medics from revealing the identity of victims, that is why the video blurs out. This is also a 'all hands on deck' situation. Doesn't matter if they are one minute away or fifteen, if they are called they have to go. "They're driving to fast." ...chances are they are better drivers than you and I damn well know if your kid was on a wrecked bus you wouldn't care then about how fast the rig was moving.
That audio totally screwed me over when I had my headphones in.

Someone else noticed the "ghost" face smiling in the bottom corner of the driver's-side windshield at 2:48...I don't think it is the reflection of someone sitting right behind the driver...weird!

Ya'll engines are slooooow. But great decision to take the off ramp. Here in the UK the police would fine them for it! Despite the sirens and lights, emergency vehicles would only be allow to go against the flow of traffic under Police instruction and escort, they can't do it alone like in this clip, regardless how many minutes and lives it may save. That and some namby pamby road user would bitterly complain.

Seems like a weird design to not have a ramp on both directions. But it does appear there is literally only one ramp....not even a ramp to go back on to the highway from the exit he used and just pull a u-turn.
It is weird. We have a few of them in Michigan which is what made me think of it.
We have a few in Chicago where you can only get off on one side or the other.....just never seen 1 off ramp and nothing else.....especially in an area that looks like there is plenty of room to build. Wonder if the fire department has every brought this up to the city

My guess is that they wanted to get behind the crash. I notice on google maps there are turn arounds on both sides of the bridge but I don't see them in the video. I'm guessing they put them in later for issues like this.
It's still amazes me the idiot people who do not pull over for emergency vehicles coming through. I understand if there is a lot of traffic and you can't move. But still.
