Mazda CX 9 Low Beam Headlight Replacement

My wife car's headlight started to get pinkish/reddish and was not going to pass inspection. I researched cost and price and find out that this repair was pricey, I did some material reading and RUclips viewing and decided to do it during the weekend. Removing the coolant overflow tank took me about 60 seconds, and replacing the passenger bulb about 2 minutes. This process you are describing by taking the wheel off is not the quickest or the easiest.

Remove the coolant tank to make it a whole lot easier. 3 bolts and its off and out of the way. Follow Mizel820 instruction on removing and replacing the bulb in second half of his video. I was done in 20 minutes.

As others said, remove coolant tank and it’s easy peasy. 10 minutes. Don’t take off the wheel.

This is not the way to replace the low beam HID bulb. All you had to do was remove the coolant reservoir, remove the bulb cover and there is enough access to remove and replace the bulb. I did mines in 5 minutes.

All you have to do is remove three screws on coolant reservoir to access passenger side bulb.

Sorry, but removing the right front wheel is completely unnecessary. Just read and follow the manual which clearly says - remove the coolant reservoir. You only need to remove the three screws. I just did that with my 2012 CX-9 - it takes 5 minutes...
