From Canada: watching our new monarch give his first Christmas address has moved me to tears. Having lost my husband this year, his message of love and light and hope, was especially meaningful.
So sorry for your recent loss.
Absolutely beautiful message which reminds us that the monarchy is of and for the people first and foremost. Spoken like a true King. The Queen would have been so proud.

I’m not the biggest fan of the Royal family tbh but I was quite impressed that whilst we have a Govt trying to blame our emergency services fighting for better work conditions and fairer pay , for Charles to highlight how valuable these people are was a good reminder that they deserve so much better .

As a pastor and a Yank, I am impressed by the King's remarks by their generous inclusivity of other faiths and by the vision Charles shared of a social order characterized by compassion and neighbor-serving love. May it be so for the UK, the Commonwealth, and the world.
Charles said he is defender "of faith"...not "The Faith"...to make everyone inclusive.
Many of our religious leaders here n the USA who spread bigotry, homophobia, and live off of the tax free grift could learn a lot from this message…

He seems like a very sweet man from what I've learned since I've started reading since before the Wedding. This family's kindness was absolutely wonderful, but to have it kicked in the face. So sad, what a son has done to this family. Thank Goodness he has another son an his family who all love each other.

I did not know how it would go this Christmas, but Charles' message was very personal and uplifting.
It was touching and he presented it very well.
The Royal Family should be shipped back to Germany as that is where they came from. In 1714 Prince Georg of Hannover was invited to Britain to become king. George I, II, III, IV and William IV all had German wives. Queen Victoria had a German husband; Gerorge V had a German wife. There is very little that is remotely English about the royal family. In 1917, they changed their family name from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha to Windsor to lessen their German affiliations at a time of war with Germany, especially when Gotha aero-planes were dropping bombs on London! The British should ditch the monarchy and declare a republic.

It went very well! I too wondered how it would how it would with his mom was on his mind he did the best he could and he did very remarkable job at it! It wasn’t the same because all of us who watched the Christmas speech are used to the queen doing it for 70 years she did it, and it became tradition to sit down on Christmas Day, and watch the queen do the Christmas speech! But his majesty King Charles III did a wonderful job on it! Now I’m not from the UK or the Commonwealth, but I have watched the Christmas speech for lease 3 to 4 years now, and it has became a tradition for me to watch it! We lost our mom three weeks after the Queen died, so I know his pain. This speech particularly spoke to us and I am profoundly grateful. What a wonderful first Christmas speech!

I have a lump in my throat watching the Kings first Christmas speech, this man has shown us what compassion and humility he has, God save the King and may he go from strength to strength.

I will admit I was skeptical of Charles. I'd of rather William be King. But after seeing this speech, I believe he's not only stepped into his role but stepped up to his role. He's ensured that everyone is included in this holiday season, not just those who believe in christmas.
it would have been so wrong to deny Charles his right to be King after he has waited his whole life to do so. . Depending on his health it may not be for too long and I'm sure William is happy to wait in line. Wiliiam & Catherine will be such a great King & Queen.Consort.

A King with a heart for the nation, he sees the inequalities amongst his subjects. Well done.
My mom passed away nearly 20 years ago now. She was relatively still quite young when we lost her to cancer. Christmas was when she did the most for celebrating. We all went all out. Treats, decorations, everything. It's still bittersweet in a way, but the magic of Christmas is beyond presents and traditions. It is embued with hope and love that those that are not with us physically will always be with us in our hearts. Until we meet again.

O little town of Bethlehem is a hymn, the words pour into my heart as, each year, it becomes any town ……. in the dark streets of poverty, hardships and sadness, the everlasting light streams in food banks for poorly paid, warm spaces for the impoverished, Nightshelters for the homeless. You and me are the hands and feet of the light - thank you Charles for a reminder of that. Your speech spoke well to all people in the UK. To old neighbours and the new neighbours who have travelled like Mary and Joseph to our little town of ……. Families seeking shelter, warmth and welcome, we can find room in our community x

What a wonderfully inclusive speech by our new King. I love how he has kept with our late Queen's tradition of focusing on people, community etc whilst putting his own personal twist on it by speaking from the Chapel at Windsor, instead of the desk in Buckingham palace. Bravo. And I'm sure it has been a difficult Christmas, missing such an amazing lady as Our Queen.

@@barndancer6149. lilymari ovic1644 is completely correct. The Monarch is never referred to as “Royal Majesty”. The Monarch is always referred to His Majesty or Her Majesty or Your Majesty. Other members of the Royal Family are referred to a His Royal Highness or Her Royal Highness or Your Royal Highness. If you have seen Royal Majesty elsewhere it is simply wrong.

I live across the sea in the commonwealth and this speech brought a lump to my throat as Christmas is always hard for me and my family with the loss of my brother but I always want to help others and strive to have compassion in my heart always.
