There are very few absolutely perfect songs ever written. This is one of them. I love Big Wreck, Ian Thornley, this song, and everything they've written. But this one...WOW.
My old teacher from Nimbus School of Recording Arts in Vancouver, BC, Garth Richardson (he's worked on many records for artists such as RATM, RHCP, Rise Against, Motley Crue, Nickelback, Mudvayne, The Melvins, Gallows, Hedley, Taylor Swift, Atreyu, The Jesus Lizard, etc.) co-produced this album with Big Wreck and he kicks serious ass at everything related to recording. Not only that, but Garth is genuinely one of the kindest and most hard working people on the entire planet. Congrats to you and Big Wreck Garth, you continue to amaze me with all that you do! Please check out more of Garth's work, he has literally one of the BEST ears in the entire world and that's no exaggeration at all.
This is why I love Big Wreck, they're really telling a story....my favorite band......thanks for everything......I will do anything to see them live!!!! I'm from Mexico and I'm saving my money to go to one of their concerts, i would die! ="D
Big Wreck is definitely one of the all time best bands. They play their instruments like madmen and Ian writes beautiful melodies. They've been one of my biggest musical inspirations.
Alright Canada!! Your country makes some of the best music!! From Rush, Triumph, Loverboy, and Brian Adams, to Big Wreck!?! WTF!!! I wish my grandmother had stayed in Ontario!! LOL!! These guys have grown on me in around 2 hrs.!!!
Big Wreck just crushed this. That vintage sound, and those simple, yet striking riffs. This has that awesome 80's sound, with a current twist. The video is pretty damn good, as well.
Good tune and adorable video. This one brought a smile to my face. I got back into this band thanks to my sister who I hadn't talked to in over a decade. We've been getting closer again so it's kinda like I discovered an old favorite band and get to be close to someone I care about a lot again. Anyways thanks for all the smiles, Big Wreck. You rock.
I've loved Big Wreck Since 97' Went to bestbuy one day with money in my pocket and determined to come home with a CD. Saw In Loving Memory and took a chance. Have enjoyed them ever since. still can play it today and enjoy the music as much as I did back then. Thanks Ian for providing something to the world I enjoy that I couldn't create for myself.
My buddies and I saw Ian and his band Thornley live in 2004 and they were awesome. Met and shot the shit with Ken Tizzard, his bass player at the time and he was as nice and personable as could be and you could tell he was getting a kick out of us rowdy teenagers rocking out to his band lol. One of the best live shows I've ever seen.
I have been a fan of Ian Thornley and Big Wreck, since their "In Loving Memory Of..." album released twenty years ago. They've just gotten better with time.
listening to this whole putting on my makeup. from my room, my sister says "is he saying he's a starfish?" cuz of the "every little piece she takes from me I can always regrow" part.
I really do love that little hand movement when the boy has the girl's hand. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go!" And the kid bolts out of the coffee shop. Damn good music. Damn good video.
Agree. Not only underrated but one of the hardest working bands out there who will go to places some artists refuse to go to because it is not big enough. The show in Moncton with the new Grace Street material was excellent and they kept a great balance between old and new material. Took me 5 years to finally see them live but it was worth travelling from Halifax.
I cant understand only 195k views, two band i absolutley love, audioslave (rip Chris i'll be heartbroken forever) and Big Wreck. I bet 20k views from myself alone. I've seen them here in Prince Edward Island and they were amazing!! Ian sounds as if hes in a studio live!
Just a shout out ! Met Ian and the band on Sunday in PEI. Even had my own private concert with a small group of VIP friends.. Scratch that off the BUCKET LIST ! First time I seen Big Wreck was in 99. Am from the GTA/YYZ/dirtyschwa and seen this band whenever possible. Now the best concert of my life, and I have seen them all from 78 on was the Roy Thompson Hall. Big Wreck and "friends" was simply over the top . I would suggest anyone who has a ear for tunes, see this band LIVE ! "Live music is better, bumper stickers should be issued" (Neil) Thanks for coming to the East Coast to entertain us. Those gemstones you men got are pretty cool eh. Just look into them, you will see ! Thanks lads, Skybunk Marche for the warm up was simply mind blowing !!!!!!
The album is beautiful. I could tell a thousand words about it and a thousand more but I think that all of us have the exact same thing in our minds while listening to this.
My local radio station plays just mainstream guns and roses shit over and over again i do alot of driving and honestly this is the only song i listen to before switching over to news radio big wreck, owns my radio. All songs
I am so stoked for tomorrow. Meeting these guys in London, Ontario. Back to my hometown, don't get to visit very often... but it's gonna be incredible. I have listened to these guys since the day In Loving Memory came out, still loved Thornley and saw both Thornley and Ian Fletcher Thornley's lineups live. Time to finally see a Big Wreck show after all these years though!
Coming back to this, it's actually one of the funniest videos I've ever seen, it's just so completely silly. Like totally bonkers silly. But that doesn't take away from it, it adds to it. And such a fun song!
I really like how the lyrics tell an entirely different story. The video is perfect for the music, though. As if they said: "let's mess with everyone here. Twice."
Insanely beautiful rock n roll, aor, melodic music, while still remains a graceful pop vibe, and if all that combined its not enough, big wreck has managed to make this a very easy listening song, just superb!
This video makes me laugh... I love Big Wreck and I love the humor in this video.... So true, so cool. Ian, the matchmaker... FANTASTIC@!!@@!!! #TXloveBW
Ian and Band are a revelation of synchronicity when it comes to musicality, songwriting and Jungian, self exploratory themes with lots of breaking of new ground. Love all around ;) Kudos to the next double-album in the vein of the last three. Much needed vibrations!
I am absolutely delighted to find out that one of my favorite albums (bands) is returning in a time where I can't find a single damn redeeming quality from 75% of the music on the radio.

It's funny because I don't even like rock.. I listen to RnB , afro beats, some rap and stuff like that. Big wreck is such a good band, there the only ones that I'll listen to their full albums.
So fucking good...Criminally underrated and a best kept secret to see them live in smaller crowds who know great music. The best guitar player/singer combined in one that walks the earth. Sin- War&Sin.
Gina Nichols Ian just sounds like that he is amazing live I have probably seen him a good 6 times. I would even go as far to say that he is more of a performing musician than a studio musician. None-the-less his tracks are very memorable and will live on past him.
Ian the matchmaker....that's a new take on E-Harmony and then Jam's at Alex's place which explains the picture of Ian and Alex from not long ago....The song is growing on me!
One of the top 10 rock bands currently touring in the world right now.
Big Wreck: The most underrated band of all time. All bands should be this good.
Starr Guitar Works so lets try harder by sharring their incredible music!
Starr Guitar Works said it best
Starr Guitar Works true and they stood the test of time and pop, while still making music.
Lets keep them our little double platinum secret ;)
+Daniel Ireland I like you're thinking there
The interlude at 2:08 switching back and forth from 4/4 to 3/4 is killer...so damn effective!
Amazing band to see live!!!
I really love that tune.
Man I love that song.
I love that song..
This is adorable. I love how Ian looks in from the outside and helps these two meet. He seems so wise in this video :)
This was the song that introduced me to this band. It played a lot on 94.9 when I'd drive my mom's car to work
When i listened this one for the first time i thought that was some old rock...
Real nice one.
Great track! Canada has been missing Big Wreck for too long!
There are very few absolutely perfect songs ever written. This is one of them. I love Big Wreck, Ian Thornley, this song, and everything they've written. But this one...WOW.
Best band, naturally has the best live shows. Amazing Boston 2017 show. If you have not seen these guys live, you are missing something truly great.

Sting is like "fuck I wish I wrote that!". I played this song for my sister and she thought it was Sting at first. They totally nailed the 80's vibe.
I'm in love with this song, since last night I can't stop listening to it.
Seriously Great Music !
Everything about this just does wonders on the feels!! This band is awesome
Who needs Tinder when there's Ian Thornley?

i always notice the mug on Ian's table changing through different shots. Great song!!!
Good old music video 80's 90's those were the days!!
Big Wreck is definitely one of the all time best bands. They play their instruments like madmen and Ian writes beautiful melodies. They've been one of my biggest musical inspirations.
Really glad I rediscovered this band after rocking out to them in the 90’s in college - very talented
i like how the guy waited for Ian to say it was ok to leave. lol also good guy Ian helping ppl hook up with letters and music. #goodguyIan
Same it reminds me of peter parker an tony stark

I hear snipets of both ASIA and Rush influence in this super cool song. Great Band, not many around that can move me today!
You said it! I wanted to say it but glad someone did...the band relives!
I hear Asia too, but not so much Rush.
Believe it or not he has queen in there I can prove it
I've loved Big Wreck Since 97' Went to bestbuy one day with money in my pocket and determined to come home with a CD. Saw In Loving Memory and took a chance.

Catchy song and a pleasant video. 10/10.
Such a unique band, the vocals are powerfully polished

Great track with a terrific chorus. I'm now a Big Wreck fan. Cant wait to discover all their songs.
Pure cheese. I love it.
Modern T Satin makes its debut! Dig it.
Very cool to see this filmed in Toronto.. His music being connected to Canada is something to be very proud of.
Amazing !!!
Ian. You lil devil you. Well done.
So well done! Not over the top and doesn't detract from the music. Hopefully gets some notice and this turns into a hit! Much deserved!
LOVE IT! It's so refreshing to see a video with SOME THOUGHT in it, not just a 'performance' of the song!
This song gives me chills
Ian the matchmaker....that's a new take on E-Harmony and then Jam's at Alex's place which explains the picture of Ian and Alex from not long ago....The song is growing on me!
Thornly was, guaranteed, binge listening to Asia just before he wrote this.
Ian the matchmaker
Kept hearing this on the radio, now its stuck in my head. Also, I cant believe they shot the video in Parkdale. Pretty cool!
just the best !!!!thankyou for this, Ian!!!!!
Decent little rock and roll act
