The first time when I heard this I was driving in the dark. That massive guitar sound wall was so powerful that I could feel my car resonating with it.
It's strange how some albums don't hit you immediately, and then wind up favored. This album has a really dark charm, and lyrically some of Ians finest.
'Andertons Music Co - The Captain Meets Ian Thornley From Big Wreck' brought me here. Ian expressly describes this heavy tone around the thirty minute mark and suggests listening to this tune. Never heard of them. This is great!
Man what a guitar sound. I wish they'd place this tune live more. I can't find a single version anywhere on the internet. It's very "Soundgardenesque" but with it's own distinct quality. Love it!!
This is soooo good! One may hear many influences in their music but there can be no mistaking this unique rich tapestry of sound as anyone other than Big Wreck.
Dennis haxor Albatross my introduction but going backwards and now this I realize Ian is a genius, It takes me a couple listens because I am not naturally inclined to listen to the guitar but he seduced me with songs like Control and now I am a convert

One of my favorite bands of all time, and an enormous influence influence on my playing. I have pretty much every song by them, but I had to get on here just to make that known, xD Ian Thornley changed my music forever.

Oh no , cannot share the good critics about "Albatross" at all! In comparisson to their first albums "Pleasure & Loving Memory", I can't hide my disappointment!! I never awaited such a boring material! Hope that "Ghosts" will be more exciting...??!
The first time when I heard this I was driving in the dark. That massive guitar sound wall was so powerful that I could feel my car resonating with it.
This is a masterpiece.
Thanks Loli.

I can't decide what is better...the guitar tone, the lyrics...the voice...there's too much to deal with in this song!

Drone Wreck! This album is blowing my brains out. Fucking Impressed.
So glad they reformed Big Wreck. Ian Thornley is a god.
They are absolutely amazing live. The drummer had to have a sound proof plex-glass rigg in front of his drums, because he was like BOOM on the drums.
I was going through a lot at the time when I finally heard this I broke down crying like a baby....
This is soooo good! One may hear many influences in their music but there can be no mistaking this unique rich tapestry of sound as anyone other than Big Wreck.
