DPF Regeneration - Drive to Clean | Ford Tech Talk

Many Ford vehicles featuring a diesel engine are equipped with a Diesel Particulate Filter, or DPF. The DPF is an inline filter within the exhaust system that traps the black soot that used to be associated with diesel engines. Periodically, it needs to be cleaned using a process called regeneration.
Regeneration can be performed while driving the vehicle. This episode of Tech Talk discusses the proper driving conditions to allow your DPF to go through regeneration, as well as what you need to know when you see “Drive to Clean” appear on the vehicle’s message center.
